Officially no. But I don't get why people would be on their cellphones going into LBPC. Leave it for people who have problems with the original theme. | 2009-08-17 00:42:00 Author: Unknown User |

Oftentimes, people using their mobile devices have bandwidth limits and overage charges for the internet, so a slimmed down theme means they can browse the site without worrying whether or not they'll go over those limits. The lite version of the default theme lacks the PHP code that rotates the header images. On older browsers/slower internet connections, that PHP code significantly slows the loading of the site. It's not a widespread problem by any means, but just as with the mobile theme, there's enough people who would benefit from it to justify its existence. | 2009-08-17 01:39:00 Author: ConfusedCartman Posts: 3729 |

Like what I said can go together what CC said. | 2009-08-17 01:53:00 Author: Unknown User |
Forgive me if I am being dense, but how do I access the mobile theme? I'm on vacation and I've been loading the whole page from a cell phone which is quite a hassle. It's not too easy to surf around finding features in this fashion. Thanks. | 2009-08-17 03:16:00 Author: comphermc Posts: 5338 |

There's a dropdown menu - pick the "Mobile Theme" option. | 2009-08-17 03:32:00 Author: ConfusedCartman Posts: 3729 |

Wow, this entire time I've been posting on LBPC from my phone I've been using the normal theme, which was terribly frustrating and tedious. I put on the mobile theme after reading this, and everything is so much easier. Shame on me for not finding this sooner. ConfusedCartman, is there anyway you could make it work so that the Mobile View is defaulted on cellphones? I'm sure it would save people a lot of trouble. I know it can be done because I've seen sites like Engadget that redirect to a mobile-friendly version of their websites. | 2009-08-17 21:14:00 Author: BSprague Posts: 2325 |

We had that at one point, but we had tons people complaining about how they didn't want to be forced to use the mobile theme. I think offering the option is the best way to do it, though I'll look into ways of making it more obvious. | 2009-08-18 00:04:00 Author: ConfusedCartman Posts: 3729 |
I'm still gutted that for months now I just can't get onto LBPC on my mobile phones I used to come on here for hours on end when travelling with work but then for some reason I just couldn't access the site any more. Tried it on several phones and nada Oh well, I'm due my upgrade next month so maybe I can join in again while on the move | 2009-08-18 00:11:00 Author: dorien Posts: 2767 |
