Glitch: Random Blocks of Colors

Another glitch guys. ![]() ![]() I haven't seen this before now, but if it happens again I'll post more images. I originally thought it had something to do with the stitching on My Moon gone wrong, but apparently not since it shows up in other places as well. http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=1059&stc=1&d=1250442714 http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=1060&stc=1&d=1250442722 http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=1061&stc=1&d=1250442731 http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=1062&stc=1&d=1250442741 http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=1063&stc=1&d=1250442750 | 2009-08-16 18:14:00 Author: Unknown User ![]() |
What the? This hasn't happened to me, seems every copy of LBP has it's own little glitch built in... ![]() | 2009-08-16 18:27:00 Author: MarkoWolfy ![]() Posts: 445 |

So.. now what? You gonna fix it or leave it? | 2009-08-16 18:41:00 Author: Unknown User ![]() |
Fix it? What do you mean? | 2009-08-16 18:45:00 Author: Unknown User ![]() |
Is it permanant? | 2009-08-16 18:55:00 Author: Unknown User ![]() |
Well, it only happened that one time. So it appears by chance and is pretty rare. | 2009-08-17 00:43:00 Author: Unknown User ![]() |
Personally I would not play my PS3 if I saw that. That is the kind of thing you'll see happening on consoles just before they go out the door. Have you tried loading your data onto a different PS3, because I bet that will fix it. I've never heard of this before, so it's either some very specific combination of things that you did, or it's your PS3. Do you have any other games to test out to see if they exhibit graphical glitches? If they do, send it in to Sony before it dies completely. | 2009-08-17 00:56:00 Author: BSprague ![]() Posts: 2325 |
That really looks like a GPU starting to make errors. Frying soon. Your PS3 days are probably numbered. . | 2009-08-17 02:48:00 Author: RangerZero ![]() Posts: 3901 |
It's not the GPU going bust, it's definitely the fetching for whatever .dll controls the thumbnails for LBP. Knowing how LBP installs, I'd assume that it's an issue with the installed "fetch" files that the ROM pre-installs to the harddrive. Backup to USB, then Delete your LBP install/patch (NOT THE SAVE DATA), and reinstall/re-patch If that doesn't fix it, then it's an issue with the ROM, where the (to-be) installed contents are compromised (scratched, smudged, etc) If the GPU is at fault, then the entire screen would be compromised with these "glitch blocks" (during boot, in XMB, everywhere), whereas this renders these erroneous blocks in the game itself (meaning the game/install/fetch is at fault) Your PS3 will most likely live WORST CASE SCENARIO: Buy a new LBP disc | 2009-08-17 04:15:00 Author: Aurongel ![]() Posts: 221 |

Ok I'll try that. But I probably won't know for sure since it has only happened once so far. | 2009-08-17 16:37:00 Author: Unknown User ![]() |
