Floating Decorations on your Sackboy?! (using 3d glitch NOT paintinator)

Archive: 13 posts

This was strange, as me and a friend were goofing off with decorations in a 3d glitch layer like pod, one of the decorations stuck on me but it was not touching me, it was quite a distance from me! it followed and moved with me!

Look closly and you see i'm not lying, cause the ghosts are not only at an angle (so its impossible to do this with invisible dark matter, if i was trying to trick you) but one is even flipped (the pin is facing the other way)

I'm still trying to fully figure out how this happened, but all i do know is it involves to quickly place decorations in the extra background layers and then quickly zoom the cursor past your sackperson while still placing the decorations.

EDIT: I made a video further down the topic so you can see how i did it

Maybe with enough people we can figure out how to get this fully working to create floating decorations where we want and increase the sackperson creation even more!!

The glitch is called "Fred", at least that's what the level author called it in the level I played about this glitch. I don't know if this is the way it happened to you but you basically just have to grab a paintanator and put a decoration on the tip of it, when you remove the paintanator the decoration should stay floating alongside your sackboy.2009-08-16 05:09:00

Well, since its a 3D layer glitch, layers do mess up often and sometimes stick to you.
But I don't know the reason for how it did it.

Interesting, but unless it can easily be replicated it's easier just to stick with the paintinator variation of the glitch.2009-08-17 05:31:00

Uh... I found a glitch that does this... but brings bad results such as crashes and freezes. I am not going to disclose it, but it produces results lke this. Were you playing around with pistons in the 3d?2009-08-17 05:34:00

Then it isn't the other glitch. I hope you can find out how to do it again so we can make cool costumes!2009-08-17 20:56:00

I'll probably experiment with the Paintinator way, and the way i found. then depending on how things go i'll make a video of it. And you guys can see for yourself2009-08-17 22:18:00

A even easier way to perform a floating decoration glitch is to use the Mr. Yellowhead costume.
The costume is acturally bigger than it looks, so adding a decoration to it will make it look like it's floating.

But of-course if you remove the Mr. Yellowhead costume the decorations disappear with it....
So I've very interested in seeing how you did this glitch.

Alright sorry about the delay (the orignal one got corrupted on uploading so i had to redo it, which i did today)

so here it is!

YouTube - The "adorn" glitch (aka floating decorations on your sackperson)

Since it was my friend who found it (we were messing with decorations in his level and it happened when he put 1 on me) he decided to name it "the adorn glitch", not what i woulda called it but oh well he deserves the credit!

But if you do look at the video carefully you see more things are discovered, like one of the decorations floating acted like it was on sackboy's eyes (blinking), and even some decorations placed at angles you can't do normally
