How to emit objects at 0.1 secounds?

Archive: 11 posts

I've seen objects from story mode and other communty members online that emit objects at 0.1secs or just continously.

I'm trying to make a moving background (a wafflesized object with stickers on it and some wheels on the bottom) but because I can only emit stuff at no less than 0.5secs theres this tiny hole between the 2 background shapes... make it look... very bad....

As a last means I'm going to attempt to make a converbelt in which i emit the objects but I would really like to avoid it if at all possible.

So... is there a special way to emit objects at 0.1secs?

I've found this to be buggy and a pain myself. I can't even get score bubbles to emit at their quickest time. Would love to know what I'm doing wrong.2009-08-15 07:29:00

HUh. Odd. I've always been able to do it. Try using the right stick to change the interger.2009-08-15 07:33:00

Oops... I may have totally missed Snowy's point. Yes, if that's what he's asking then good advice Astrosimi.

Personally, I know how to change the emitter time with the right analogue and can get objects to emit at 0.2 just fine. It seems though, that for some reason I can't get them to emit at 0.1.

I've only attempted this once or twice with objects, but they don't seem to want to emit at that speed. I've muddled with the lifespan and all the other options. Any advice on what I'm doing wrong?

I think it depends on the size and velocity of what you are emitting. You need to make sure the last emitted object is clear of the emission area, so at that speed (0.1 sec) you may need to ramp up the velocity quite a bit (again, depending on the size of the object).

Bear in mind, this is just an educated guess.

Ahhhh... this makes good sense actually. I never took into consideration the size of my object obstructing the path and space for the next object to emit into.

It seems so simple.... but often the most simplest of things are over looked.

Thanks for the advice .... I will see if this helps and hopefully we both got the answer we were looking for.

Cheers!

Well i tried changing size, speed, velocity and such and from 0.5secs it seemed to go down to around 0.3 secounds so it does seem to be working!

I guess i just need to play around with these stuff a bit more thanks for the tip v0rtex?! You saved my life yet again!

People are addressing two different issues in this thread. The issue I'm seeing is he physically can't get the tweak menu setting to 0.1 seconds. To do this, push the left stick left a couple times. Correct me if I'm wrong in assuming that's what you need. 2009-08-15 11:16:00

BSprague has it right. The left stick always works for me. I just hit left on the d-pad until it is at 0.5 then use the left analog to get it to 0.1

The objects size and placement don't matter, as long as the emitted object is free to...emit
