R.I.P. Les Paul

Archive: 7 posts

Wow they seem to be dropping like flies recently.

"The Associated Press reports that the pioneering guitarist and inventor Les Paul died today in White Plains, New York of complications from pneumonia. He was 94. Though he accomplished many remarkable things during his long lifetime, Paul's biggest legacy remains his creation of the Les Paul model guitar."

Yeah. I saw that last night. Sad news indeed, but at 92 he led a good life, was an excellent guitar player that was responsible for a huge amount of innovation that led to the modern day electric guitar. I have a Gibson Les Paul that I will always cherish, even though I play all PRS electrics currently.

RIP Paul - Thanks so much for all you did for us!

i can't play electric guitars but I think they are really cool.

And Les Pauls are the coolest. I brother has an the cheaper version (epiphone, i think?) and i always liked the look of it. It was awesome.

Easily my favourite guitar. I always wanted one when I was a kid but ended up getting a cheap little jobbie instead. Didn't stop me blasting away "smells like teen spirit" at the awesome volume of my 10 watt amp

all good things must come to and end.
