Fire and Ice

Fire and Iceheadcheeez
No real storyline...
So you are stuck in the bottom of a dormant volcano, and NEED to get out, otherwise you would starve.
all
This level has you flying on slides, flying across zip lines, flying around wheels, swinging across fire, and more! There are a couple natural shortcuts I found out, like there are parts in the first volcano part you can just jump across some fire just burning yourself once, and a part where you can sling yourself right up to the ladder.

I thought it was WAY too easy with more than a couple lives, so you only have ONE life.

So why is it called fire and ice? Well after escaping the desert/volcanoish area, you come across a wasteland of snow... it's pretty short, but I ran out of level space. Then the end.

The main thing I tried with this level was the atmosphere, and I put huge spotlights above the level to make it seem like the sun was beating down on you.

PLEASE leave feedback!

Well, there were a lot of good things but overall it was pretty hard. Is it really necessary to make it one life? No one likes a hard level with one life, especially noobs who make up 50% of the games population lol. It had great fog andlighting, and the shimmering spotlight was a great effect, and the level was fun and had some great platforming, but the one life thing was not fun Still great though, keep em coming And F4F, please try my tank level.2009-08-14 04:10:00

I agree, the look of the level is great, and while i appreciate a little challenge in levels i think the one life thing is holding you back a little. You already have a challenge aspect by including the timer. Lots of times i'd die on little mistakes trying to get back to the part that was genuinely challenging. Areas like the rope ladder make the restart more of a hassle too, because they are less skill-based and can randomly drop your sackboy, which makes replaying more and more frustrating.

Apart from that though, i really liked the design of it, and i also liked the few alternate path type options I came across, like butt-burning across rather than using jumping platforms!

Hey!

Firstly, great lighting, some really nice effects in there, and the overall visuals were good.

However, I do agree with madcowj and Incinerator, I think that one life makes it a bit too difficult, especially for the newer players. Also, it means that if somebody dies quickly, they don't get to experience the whole of the level.

Really liked it though - well done!

P.S. If you fancy checking it out one of my levels, your feedback would be more than welcome! Perhaps my level Monster's Lair?

The lighting was cool, and I thought the choice of materials were good too.

I'm gonna say that I didn't really mind the one life thing, it's a change, but levels do sometimes become really annoying with one life, but in this levels case I never became frustrated enough that I didn't want to play it. I suppose it's a love it or hate it thing, or maybe that I thought you actually included in a way or in a level that wont cause too much stress.

Pretty good I suppose, I think i'll heart it.
