Swinging Silhouette by Anpostteller

An awesome use of the new layer glitch used to create a truely fantastic and beautiful level. Although its tricky, the stunning visual effects keep you playing! It's a must play and should be played by all!2009-08-13 19:09:00

This level is the best silhouette level I have ever seen!I gave it 5 stars without a thought, literally, I can't remember what I rated it, and I played it about 5 minutes ago! But I probably rated it 5 stars.

This level also has some kind of achievement system. Very unique.

Wow, just wow. First of all, this level is gorgeous. Just stunningly beautiful. Secondly, if anyone was starting to doubt if the layer glitch could be put to good use, look no further. He uses it in such a perfect way, it's incredible.

Also, like warlord said, there's a challenge system that rewards many play-throughs, and is, well, very challenging! At the end of the level he gives you a whole bunch of challenges that you can complete - a couple he tells you how to get them, a few he gives a kind of riddle/hint.

This level is challenging and amazing, undoubtedly 5 stars.
If you don't play this you are missing on one superb gem.

Have I praised it enough yet?

Also, his other (apparently his first) level, is just as incredible, uses the layer glitch in - if it's possible - an even better way, and is a different type of level as well. It's not a silhouette level, but it has again stunning graphics and rewards a few playthroughs. It also seamlessly incorporates the paintinator really nicely.

This person has a gift for design.

I've actually messaged him back and forth a bit now, and have added him. Hopefully he'll take my advice soon and pop over here!

For some reason Anpostteller doesn't try and push his levels into doing well (like I try and do) but he sits back and lets anyone who comes across it play it... Consequently both his levels lack plays and hearts in my opinion and is why I tried to promote him on here.
He's not a new creator but he only publishes the very best! Trust me when I say that i've seen an amazing looking pirate level he has half finished! Also the other level he published is so short becuase he experienced a strange problem that I couldn't explain... He deleted everything from that level (because he wanted to find what was making it overheat!) except a checkpoint he could not remove and still he had half the thermometer full! Any ideas?????
But still, two truely unique and well designed levels!

Oooh, both of them are fantastic. Thanks for recommending them.

How do you get that silhouette look anyway? Edit: Nevermind. Complete darkness and changing the colour of the for does the trick.

That's too bad about the thermo problem.. I have no idea waht it could be. He could try capturing the whole level and moving it to a new one. That's kinda tedious though.

He said he's going to check out the forum to take a look at the levels here (I took him 'round on a trip through Mars Attacks II which sold him I think ), but I don't know if he'll actually sign up.

His 2 levels are amazing!
I agree that this is one of the first levels where the glitch is used in a really good way to create an unique atmosphere.

5 stars all the way

This looks fantastic, i love the colour palette and the use of the glitch, it really works here.

On first run through I actually found it it good but frustrating as i wasn't sure what i could grab and what was simply background but gave it another whirl and once you adjust to telling the difference it kind of mesmerises you. There was one particular jump i was cursing but when you get the three in a row to go off perfectly its so great. The challenges are a pretty unique touch too, not seen that before, it's like trophies.

This guys levels are great! Sucks they only have a few plays. I'll be sure to play all his future levels.

I actually liked the other level he made better than the swinging one, they both were really nice though. I just love the look of his Post-Apocalyptic level. He used the 3D glitch brilliantly in both. I really hope Mm doesn't patch this or makes it easier to use because this really makes some levels look great.

Swinging Silhouette was beautifully made. However, I disliked the reliance upon some of the one-time only jumps/launches.2009-08-21 11:16:00

Wow, this is easily one the best silhouette levels I've played, and it actually makes a good use of the extra layer glitch. (which is something I rarely see on LBP) The background is beautifully crafted, and it's one of the things which makes this level so beautiful to look at. The gameplay was also very good as well. I didn't have too much trouble with it, in fact I only died a few times throughout the level. (although much of that was from good luck) The swinging gameplay was also very unique as well.

EDIT: Also, anpostteller's other level is really good too. It's inspired me to start using the Paintinator in create mode again.

The background glitch was better used in this one, though, imo.2009-08-23 11:38:00

Antpostteller updated this level with a revamped second half (and some subtle but effective graphical changes near the beginning as well).

If you've never played this, go play it NOW!
If you have played it, it's worth checking out again. The gameplay isn't changed dramatically or anything, but some really effective graphical/audial touches were added to make it that much more immersive and incredible.

I played this guy's post-apocalyptic level because of the spotlight, and was so impressed I checked this one out too, and thought it was amazing.

Clever use of the swinging mechanic too. I love the tiny little details like the "breaking" vines when you grab one.

This level made me think that this guy could do an awesome Dr. Seuss level.

Just played this this morning. Beautiful level with some great detail. I did find it a bit difficult in certain areas, but once I got the timing down on some of the swings, I had a lot of fun.

It also made me think of a silhouette level that I wanted to make a long time ago, but I couldn't nail the look. But now that I've seen the background glitch in this level, I might be able to pull it off.
