Archive: 18 posts
My ps3 just turned off with a red blinking light when i was playing ratchet and clank. i clicked the back switch off and waited 3 minutes. turned it on and everything seemed good and after 5 minutes it turned off again then i hit the switch again and here i am posting about it. PS. My ps3 is in a very very open space where its impossible to overheat. PSS. I was only playing for 30 minutes this morning when it happend. it wasnt on for a long duration before that cause i was asleep at that time | 2009-08-13 18:53:00 Author: Snrm Posts: 6419 |
Well, I did a quick google search. One guy said to press the power on button for a few seconds to go to debug, but I don't know how trustworthy that is. http://ps3.qj.net/Possible-PS3-flashing-red-light-fix-from-MXACE/pg/49/aid/75721 Perhaps this site may know some more? | 2009-08-13 19:09:00 Author: RockSauron Posts: 10882 |
blinking red light? http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2007/04/rip-20gb-ps3.jpg I suggest you try let it cool down... by the way, overheating is NOT the only reason people get it, it's probably a motherboard failure EDIT: sorry, I've read yellow | 2009-08-13 19:10:00 Author: oldage Posts: 2824 |
AHAHAHAHAHAHAH Im gonna put motorstorm in and tell my dad i was never playing. he would blame it on me for nooo reason!! i will try what rock said real quick EDIT There was no Debug EDIT2: so Red blinking doesnt mean R.I.P? | 2009-08-13 19:14:00 Author: Snrm Posts: 6419 |
EDIT2: so Red blinking doesnt mean R.I.P? you can be either lucky or unlucky. as I said, let it cool down for today, and try to start it up again tommorow. if it still does that, then... EDIT: what model? | 2009-08-13 19:19:00 Author: oldage Posts: 2824 |
60GB with Backwards Compatibility Well im sure when my dad comes home from work he will turn it on. I cant let him know i was the last one playing!!! he will get mad and think i somehow did it and yeh | 2009-08-13 19:21:00 Author: Snrm Posts: 6419 |
I guess your time has come then, the 60GB's are known for their high failure rates (because they produce more heat then the newer models, but mine is still working...his time will come soon too) tell your dad that electronics "die" out too, and that your PS3 was faulty. | 2009-08-13 19:23:00 Author: oldage Posts: 2824 |

I have no idea what you can do when it keeps freezing. sorry | 2009-08-13 22:38:00 Author: oldage Posts: 2824 |
My PS3 freezes sometimes, maybe once every 2 days. (really annoying.) But you're problem seems worse. if it keeps flashing, then... I'm sorry, you're gonna have to trade it in. I think. Or maybe it'll work? Who knows? BTW: ratchet and clank is the best. | 2009-08-13 22:49:00 Author: MarkoWolfy Posts: 445 |

nope me and my dad did lots of things and it was working for an hour. My Dad decided it was probaly fixed so he was getting back to his motorstorm online so after the update it had to make we needed to reboot the system and after the reboot it was freezing again.
