Whichever Way The Wind Blows- Red (3D)ladylyn1 My second Whichever Way the Wind Blows Level and currently my newset level. The RED version takes you on a very different journey after your balloon collapses and you end up in an abandoned town. Search through the old factory, that continues to function, and pass into the mirky waters below. I used the new layer glitch for this level and as you can tell all the backgrounds took ages to make. Hope you enjoy. all Video added by Tyro421: YouTube - Whichever Way The Wind Blows - Red by ladylyn1 | 2009-08-13 12:25:00 Author: ladylyn1 Posts: 836 |
I liked this level. everyone go play it. | 2009-08-13 21:50:00 Author: deboerdave Posts: 384 |
Most of what I said on your other level in this series pertains to this too, so read that But I'll add that you used the layer glitch wonderfully. It didn't intrude at all, and only served as a graphic stimulator. I loved the searchlight bots - they felt like they had a lot of character for 'simply bots'. Especially at the end. And I liked the end a lot, because it drove home the "wherever the wind takes me" message, which as I said in your other level thread, is something I feel is very special to this series. Wonderful level, 5 stars and a heart. like deboerdave said, everyone should go play this. | 2009-08-14 05:43:00 Author: hilightnotes Posts: 1230 |

Ok just finished this. Great level again, I wasn't so keep on the industrial part, not for any real reason just didn't really click with me, but the outside section and the sentry drones etc were all brilliant and you did another great job on the contrasting areas, and the join between them felt right. The boss was pretty cool, don't see many "evade the boss" type things and the difficulty gradually increased. I think I only died once there but that's OK, I tihnk that is right if you have no way to fight back, you should be constantly on your toes but not feel like respawn is the only way to get out. Again the respawn point is potentially in the danger zone, which is annoying, but there is nothing that could be done about it here - whats the point in a safe spawning spot if you just have to stay out of harm's way eh? I think I preferred part one to this but it's still a fantastic level and 5 stars. If you're doing F4F can you check out my Subterranean Setbacks - in my sig. P.S. Just started a GREEN version... this will be the last i think! | 2009-08-15 10:58:00 Author: ladylyn1 Posts: 836 |
Hey ladlyn Just had a go on this. Thought it was fab. Scenery was epic, and the whole level had a really professional feel to it. I also liked the choice of music, I felt it really fitted in with the level as a whole. I thought the 3D effects were great too - wish I could do stuff like that! The only thing which I would change would be the battle with the robot where you have to wait for what seems like a long time before you can get past. I liked the idea, but felt that it went on a little too long - that's just my opinion though! Loved the beginning and the end with the balloon ride, tied it together nicely with your blue level. Really lovely level though, I gave it :star::star::star::star::star: If you fancy a look at a lowlier creator's efforts, there are a couple of my levels I have posted on the F4F board, such as Monster's Lair and Sackboy's Adventure in Egypt - would love to know what you think! | 2009-08-15 16:32:00 Author: littlebot Posts: 60 |
Just finished this one, in one word, gorgeous. I wish I could create such a beautiful level, but it seems I lack a lot of artistic skills. Most of the level was excellent and the music well chosen. Pros : - Beautiful - a glitch well used - detailed - the slomotion effect - good difficulty - no technical problems during my playthrough Cons : - Maybe a bit slow for some in the beginning and at the end ( cloud parts) - Boss battle ( a wast of time I you can't die) - EDIT : Creator told me the boss battle has no unlimited checkpoints, so therefor it's a waste of time, my mistake. So I like it alot, and I'm waiting for the 'green' one. If you're into F4F, you may try one of my Twysted Tales levels, TT3 is my latest release. | 2009-08-15 19:27:00 Author: Onymega Posts: 17 |
The boss doesn't have infinite lives so u can die? Im a little confused about that one? | 2009-08-15 20:11:00 Author: ladylyn1 Posts: 836 |
Hey, thanks for the clarification. I really thought is was an unlimited checkpoint, my apologies. The first part of the boss is still very easy, (I think) he can't hit you if you just run under him, but I'm not sure | 2009-08-15 20:28:00 Author: Onymega Posts: 17 |
Thats ok... I scrapped the GREEN version, it wasn't working, but instead i've got a YELLOW version going with the new history kit! | 2009-08-16 15:18:00 Author: ladylyn1 Posts: 836 |

lol, woops sorry for the double post (ish) | 2009-08-25 16:33:00 Author: ladylyn1 Posts: 836 |
This level is crazy awesome. I loved the use of the background glitch - not sure how you made it that detailed because I've tried it myself and it's hard to work with! If you haven't played the "Wind" series of levels by ladylyn1, you need to. These are simply some of the best levels on LBP. | 2009-08-25 17:36:00 Author: Powershifter Posts: 668 |
Actually i think it only looks that detailed because its blacked out- its actually only dark matter and many of the cloud objects are copied and pasted. But still i am pleased with the result the 50 layer glitch gives and only hope that MM doesn't get rid of it. | 2009-08-28 12:00:00 Author: ladylyn1 Posts: 836 |
I enjoyed playing your level, here is my review: Gameplay (4/5): Good variation of platforms, little obstacles and jumps. I liked the underwater part most, there where you had to avoid the lights. The start and the ending are quite nice. It might be a bit boring, but it's really really beautiful. The industrial part also is good: In my opinion the best thing there was the slow-motion part. Scenery (5/5): As beautiful as an awesome level should be! The layer-glitch is very well used, decorations and machines in the factory look very good. Other (5/5): The story of the level is wonderful. It's like a trip to diffrent locations. Lenght and difficulty are nice. That was probably one of the best levels I have yet played! The scenery was great! Great way to use the background glitch! I haven't tried myself yet but your use complells me to. the visual on the rest of the level were just as great! The differnet loactoins were sweet! I really liked the underwater and the airship sections! The part that blew me away was the slow motion part. That was just wow-worthy. Can't wait for more! PLayed your blue story too! Just as good but totally different! Loved em both! hope to see more! :star::star::star::star::star:/ Brilliant/ Hearted! F4F anytime soon? I really appreciate it! SIREN: [The Lost World] (Episode 2-Otherside) please! thanks in adavance! more information is in my signature. Thanx! | 2009-08-30 16:05:00 Author: Noroibito Posts: 211 |

Very nice level, I really enjoyed it. Pros: +Great eyecandy, and amazing use of the 3D layers. +I loved the great gameplay of it +Lol at the end "Uhh, I don't know, whichever way the wind blows, I guess" +Looks like it took a long time to make +Liked the boss +The storyline was great Cons: -None I rated it 5/5 stars and hearted it. Very impressive! F4F: The first level in my sig, Free Stickers and Stuff (No, not a free prize level, I made all the prizes and you choose what ones you want. If you don't want any, just jump over them all.) | 2009-09-01 16:38:00 Author: tjb0607 Posts: 1054 |

Thank you... yeah anyone who originally hearted this level, i would be very pleased if u could play and heart again! Sorry for the inconvenience! | 2009-09-08 09:50:00 Author: ladylyn1 Posts: 836 |
This was my first time playing one of your levels - I thought it was really well done. I loved the visuals, thought the platforming was creative, and the intro and conclusion were great with their simplicity. My only complaint was the boss - the time limit feels a bit contrived and this reminded me of the boss in candyk's "Starcruiser". Other than that, was really impressed. :star::star::star::star::star: and a heart | 2009-09-09 20:55:00 Author: phife211 Posts: 62 |
