Retro all we need now is some rounded edges and british mini fonts. Ahh the internet of yester-year. | 2009-08-14 01:16:00 Author: Mrgenji Posts: 803 |
In a program like Paint.Net, there's an option to make a line like that, but it's in Dashes. | 2009-08-14 01:19:00 Author: Unknown User |
very nice work - so few people attempt to do tutorials on the artwork forum, its really a shame. | 2009-08-14 15:28:00 Author: LuckyShot Posts: 713 |
very nice work - so few people attempt to do tutorials on the artwork forum, its really a shame. Once I learn something useful, I will. Thanks for this element. | 2009-08-15 00:13:00 Author: moleynator Posts: 2914 |
scanline's arnt best for sigs, more for userbars. | 2009-08-15 00:59:00 Author: Adam9001 Posts: 744 |
scanline's arnt best for sigs, more for userbars. I've seen a fair amount of signatures that utilize the scanline technique, and still look fantastic. They are more common in userbars, but that doesn't mean it's their only use. | 2009-08-15 01:30:00 Author: BSprague Posts: 2325 |

Agreed. For example: TheCrestFallen (http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/member.php?u=4819) That's a good example, as is your signature. | 2009-08-15 01:54:00 Author: BSprague Posts: 2325 |
That's a good example, as is your signature. I dont think that is scanlines... Is it??? | 2009-08-15 02:14:00 Author: moleynator Posts: 2914 |
I dont think that is scanlines... Is it??? I'd say it is, it does have the subtle diagonal line pattern commonly associated with the scanline technique. | 2009-08-15 12:39:00 Author: BSprague Posts: 2325 |
If I do this than my scanlines turns out in one solid black background... | 2009-08-15 15:12:00 Author: Dexist Posts: 570 |
If I do this than my scanlines turns out in one solid black background... It has to be transparent though. I dont think that is scanlines... Is it??? It is, he use to overlay the layer onto the whole thing making it invisible, but feels like it's there. Kinda like a ghost. | 2009-08-15 16:52:00 Author: Unknown User |
I think scanlines are horizontal, right? :O anyways. Nice tut :arg: | 2009-08-15 16:59:00 Author: Yarbone Posts: 3036 |
yeah he also used way thicker lines, which the 4x4 gif would not work for. You would need like an 8 by 8, with a solid 2 pixel line down the middle, and then one pixel in each corner for that effect... and then when you lay it over the image you do it as it's own new layer, and raise the opaqueness or transparency depending on what your program calls it - and then of course while I'm typing it Yarbone shows up and posts... How did you do the lines on moley's sig? | 2009-08-15 17:01:00 Author: LuckyShot Posts: 713 |
