Junkyard level for the first 3 Sci-Fi World series.
all
New Addition to the Sci-Fi World Series!!! New concepts and new machines and made little more challenging. Sorry, no kool space ships in this level, but makes-up for it with fun hard gameplay. Better if played as single player, but still possible with 2 peepol. Post comments and suggestions and lemme know wat u think.

These parts and ideas did not make it to the original levels cuz they were too challenging for my easy lvls or took-up too much thermometer.

Great new addition to the series. Some pretty cool new contraptions and it seems to me that it was a lot longer than the others. The level wasn't as great looking as the others, I think you mentioned something about that in the description in game though. But that doesn't matter because it was still fun play to play through. I did find a problem though on the platform that took you to the right and with a gear underneath that started to move as the platform did, it was the one that also served as the launch pad. Sorry if thats a bit confusing, but I didn't make it up the shaft the first time so I flew back down and accidently jumped just before it would launch me up again so I ended up underneath it and trapped, so I had to restart. Nothing major though, I gave it a 5 stars and a heart.

I really enjoyed the level, although I thought Sci Fi World 3 was better I thought this one was really good and definetly offered a little more difficulty, something the previous versions lacked.

Btw, you make the BEST intros of any creator, you are amazing at those!

I really enjoyed this level man!. I have to confess I wasn't a fan of your SCI-FI world series, thouth I appreciate it's technology, but this one really made me play till I aced it.

Fantastic stuff... AGAIN.

I can't say this was my favourite of the series, but it was a great 'extras'

Your contraptions are just astounding.

i like when people give me advice, but i hate wen peepolz leave mean messages on levels u work so hard to create! Grrrrrrrr!!!
ill look into that glitched part of the level shris. dont worry... i know wat u are talking about. i think i need to lower 1 of the gears down further into the pink smoke.
yeah i think i over-killed the sci-fi theme!!! many other lbp playerz helped too. haha. there are now officially TOO MANY SCI-FI THEMED LVLS!!! ...but thatz just my opinion. =P

i was thinking about making a music lvl. lol... really. i already started but the music did not come out so good. i deleted and will start from scratch again... or maybe ill just give-up.

Okay, played this three times now, here we go...

I always enjoy the Sci-Fi World levels - innovative, exciting, bright 'n shiny and very slick. No, they're not the most challenging gameplay-wise, but they're not meant to be. They compare to rollercoasters - strap yourself in and enjoy the ride - and Sci-Fi World compares with the best. My own personal LEAST favourite of the series was part 3, but I still thoroughly enjoyed it.

Now then, we have Sci-Fi World EX, and if you think you're in for the same again, you need to rethink.

Brilliant intro as usual - almost cyber punk, industrial, down and dirty stuff. But then, and here's the rub, you have to DO stuff! And some of it ain't easy. Yes, it's all got the mdaj trademarks - the clangs, the bangs, the pink gas, the logos, the slick mechanisms - but the difficulty has been raised, and it's all the better for it.

mdaj is one of the best chain-reaction wizards, and this EX version is full of them - put X into Y, and then Z will move causing A to open - you know the sort of thing.

I loved it.

PROS
+ Sci-Fi World with added challenge
+ Brilliant mechanics and mechanisms
+ Post-apocolyptic settings with the loudest bangs possible
+ Some great details

CONS
- Some fanboys will be upset at the challenge

OVERALL
A worthy addition to this great series, and one that MAY put old fans off, but will certainly attract new ones. Well done, mdaj, you are The Wizard.

I rated 5*, hearted and tagged with 'Ingenious'.

WOW! u give me such high praises mrs buz!!! i hope every1 else also feels this enthusiastic about my level.

but what i dont understand iz why such great levels recieve only 4-star ratings....
=( hmmmmm...

perfect example is mrs-spooky-buz's levels. her levels i think r freekin' awesummmm!!! but none were rated 5-starz. i think she was ripped-off!!! grrrrr!!! really not kool! and there are many other levels ive seen that only got 4-starz when they should've been 5.

then i see the "free prize levels" that are 5-stars!? omg... i think itz really unfair! ohh well... lol... i complain too much. i'll shut my face now. =P

This is pretty cool. Lovely visuals, nica and clean, yet interesting

Highlights, the flipper piston electo thingumies with the car you ride on: If you just spam R1 and don't pay attention you get killed - I like this

The plasma generator is soooo cool, wasn't sure what was going to happen but yeah, I liked that.

Minus points, the timed platforms are a little too high from each other IMO, it prevents natural planeshifting, which is a pain. I appreciate that this is part of the challenge, but I think the camera angle makes it impossible to know until after you have tried once. Very minor.

The Boss fight that I played was essentially just two plasma turrets and paintball gun, and you can just stand out of range of each turret as you spam the paintenator. It did look cool but in a level with so much cool and imaginitive stuff going on, it's a bit of a let down (the perils of making stuff that's too cool I guess

)

After this I was moving spikey balls on chains and then then hit some gas and suddentl I've backtracked and my route is blocked on all sides. I can't complete the level this run through but I'll check back later. Level killing faults should never happen IMO.

It's another cool showcase of mechanics, but this time it felt more engaging somehow. All very inventive puzzles, not to difficult, but that doesn't matter when you are admiring the gameplay you've invented.

5 stars, heart and I'll come back to complete it later.

Great level, the only bug i found is that its possible to bypass the power up negater after the bit with the bombs and before the robot boss with the paintinator. I didnt explore so it might not matter i just thought it worth mentioning

thanx for pointing out the let-downs and mistakes on my level evry1! sorry... i did a rush job and didnt thouroughly check everything before i published it. and the boss fight i know had an AWESOME intro with really LAME gameplay. i just got lazy. =P i had some good ides to add to it... maybe ill put them in later. ill look into the other stuff that u peepolz said needs improving. ill try ta fix em. kool???

Just played this, and I gotta say - I'm one of those people who fell under the category of "I like the sci-fi world series, totally appreciate them, and 5 star rate them when I play them.... but I don't feel like I'm DOING much in them."

I really appreciate that, with this level, you've taken a different direction and built a level for us "gamers". I loved the mechanics AND the gameplay in this one - I hit #2 on the scoreboard, and plan on coming back later for some more.

Nice job! 5 stars and a heart.

This level almost made me suffer anaphylactic shock because it was so awesome! Me and my friend were sitting there like OMG,OMG OMG OMG OMG! And each time something awesome happened we were like OOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMGGGGGGGGGGGG!!! and it felt like my brain was going to explode!

Then I felt sad, because I don't know how you did it. "sniffle"

yeah... theres this guy named netshark-psu (something like that) who i think did it. i cant remember his exact network name, but he's been sending me hate messages on my ps3 everyday. oh yeah... he write some really nasty things to me. but no worries, it doesnt hurt my feelings. =P i find his hate messages to very creative and entertaining. hehe.

but i bet he iz the 1 who got my poor little lvl moderated. makes me sad. i found a way around the mode, but i will not be suprized if he gets it moderated again.

You can send emails on the MM website. Maybe send them a question giving them the scenario - PSN from LittleBigPlanet harrassing you (give them the type of content in the PSN messages) as well as tell them you believe your level was then coincidentally moderated.

Since LBP is rated for "everyone" I'm SURE they would take very seriously harrassing PSN messages being sent directly as a result of people playing their game. I know you may find it amusing, however it certainly could be a tool to get MM's attention.

Here's a sample of what you may send to them:

I'm a popular creator in LittleBigPlanet. I've designed the Sci-Fi World series.

What would you suggest to do if, as a result of publishing my levels, I get harrassing PSN messages such as death threats... as well as my child-friendly level getting moderated?

Make sure you use proper english and keep it simple so they will take it seriously.

thanx ccubbage... ill look up m&m's website now. thinking about this guyz messages is VERYYYYY amusing to me... but thinking about how he might be doing the same to other players is very disturbing. many lbp playerz are still kids, and if this guy is writing stuff to them as he does me... then wow, this guy needz to get kicked off-line.
i dont know if he is behind my levels mode, but i will most certainly try to get his ps network kicked from the community. btw... i checked his name. itz WebsharkPSU ... every1, look-out for this guy! he is baaaaad!!!

This is horribly disturbing. No.. not your level!!!!!

I haven't had a chance to check it out yet and I will as I am a huge fan of the Sci Fi series, however any sort of death threat whether in person or via email is a criminal offense and needs to be dealt with accordingly.

It's one thing to get a level wrongfully moderated, upload bad pics as well as leave bad comments, but actually a death threat is not to be tolerated. This is a serious criminal offense. Whoever this nut job is, needs to find himself behind bars for awhile to rethink his actions.

Probably wouldn't matter whether they know about the level or not.... as long as they get the point. If anyone starts getting harrassed because they've been LittleBigPlanet I GUARANTEE their legal staff will be very interested. No one takes these things lightly nowadays.

And if you look at the warning they give you when you choose to report a level, they take that very seriously also.

ok... ! i just sent m&m an e-mail asking about the mode. but mostly i talked about that guy, WebsharkPSU. i dont know how far that e-mail will go. maybe next year they will have a chance to read it after they read all the other e-mails that came before mine. =P

i guess now all i can do is wait and see what happens. if my logo ever getz erased again u will know why. let me know as soon as u see this. thank you every1!

This is a CRIME! What a disgusting act of petty hooligan thuggery.... I've played through that level 4 times and it had ZERO reason to be moderated (like anyone had any doubts) This Shark fellow needs to be dealt with in the most severe terms possible by MM.

I agree with what's being both said and done here. 'Thanks' is a word we use a lot around here (quite rightly), but I want to thank my friends above who have given support and advice.

The actions of certain PSN users is not even remotely funny - it's despicable. Why do they think it's acceptable to act this way (no need to answer that!).

And death threats? Sent to a popular creator on a FAMILY GAME? It isn't abuse, it's a criminal offence! Absolutely disgusting.

This PSN User, whose name I simply cannot stand to type out at the moment, will no doubt say 'it was only a joke/messing about/no harm meant'. That doesn't wash, I'm afraid.

The media already have a field day where video games are concerned, and unfortunately, lowlife users such as this only amplify the fact that there are some hateful, awful, contemptable individuals.

I've had a similar experience - though not as serious - whereby a user who was unknown to me posted a comment and a message calling me a 'filthy sl*t'. I good griefed it and it was removed. I wasn't concerned for myself (though SpookyBuz almost bust a gut!), I was concerned for all the other young people who were in the unfortunate position of having to read this filth.

mdaj - everyone on this site is behind you. I will be very interested to hear any outcome.

This sounds like a great place also to report the PSN of the dude. Just want to make sure it doesn't get lost in the thread. Even if you sent a message to MM, this will also alert Sony.

i used that play station complaint web site u gave me adam! i submitted all the info. and then...................(dramatic pause)......... it gave me instructions on how to use the block option on my ps3. yay... they are so helpful! =/

i also got media molecules e-mail address and sent them some info on wats going on. maybe they can help a lil better than the ps website.

Yeah, especially Jaeyden. He may not necessarily be able to help him get banned, but he works in a Winery so he can at least help you get a bit plastered to help with the pain.

ohh yeah... there are sum really nasty people out there in lbp. sheeesh!!! and i didnt know it was this bad until recently. grrrr!

but i wonder what people are thinking wen they do this... hmmmmm. maybe thatz how they enjoy lbp??? sum people like to create, sum people like to play, and i guess theres a few who like to pizz every1 off. ohh well... =(

"Doing" was the only thing i missed from the Sci-fi worlds.
Doing is fun. I, like, doing.

By the way i loved this level, just as much as all the other levels you have made

Played last night and first impressions were positive. The intro where the gas dispersed was very cool, and I enjoyed the platforming that followed, with the difficulty being reasonably challenging without becoming irritatingly tough. The room where you blast the big ball of plasma through the wall was another great set piece that really got me into the mood for the level, and I enjoyed the section after that with the spikey, rolling green thing. However, I kept getting stuck in the same place, which was here...

First time around the springboard didn't activate at all, while second time and third time I got trapped underneath it. Three restarts already and I wasn't willing to try a fourth. If you could take a look at the mechanics of this section and sort out the problem, which I see others have also been affected by, then I'll be happy to replay and feed back to you on the rest of the level.

Anyway...a four star rating based on the content I managed to play, and a "fun" tag from me.

ohh no!!! yeah... i dont know why it did that. people told me about that glitch in my level. hmmmm. i played that part over and over but couldnt duplicate the glitch. ill try again 2night.

only 4 starz!!!! omg... u break my heart! =(
hehe, just kidding. but glad u liked the lvl. that kool wall smashing plasma ball idea was actually given to me by a frend. the mechanics of that plasma ball iz rediculous!!! and omg.... that thing ate-up the thermometer. i was actually suprized i got it to work! =P
