Do you have anything particular you have to do when you create?
Archive: 38 posts
For example: whenever I'm in Create Mode, I HAVE to listen to Dio (as in Ronnie James). For whatever reason, it's the best music for me to create to. I've tried some other stuff, but nothing works as well. So, do you have anything like that that you have to do when you Create? | 2009-08-11 18:54:00 Author: dandygandy2704 ![]() Posts: 1002 |

Eat chocolate cookies (Digestives with chocolate to be precise). They should at least be somewhere near me. I usually forget to eat them once I get stuck in create mode, though. ![]() | 2009-08-11 20:08:00 Author: Syroc ![]() Posts: 3193 |
I always have to stand up and turn around clock-wise three times ever half an hour. Then every four hours, I reverse the pattern. Weird huh? Okay, seriously though... I can only seem to create "the good stuff" late at night. Day time creating seems to be left to tweaking and such. I find that many artists are night owls. I think it might have something to do with the brain being in a more relaxed state. There's also less noise and distractions late at night. | 2009-08-11 21:32:00 Author: Rustbukkit ![]() Posts: 1737 |
I usually need to smoke a joint and listen to music to get "in the zone". I eat lots of munchies too...crisps, chocolate, sweets, cakes and pastries...that sort of thing. Oh, and I regularly consult my wife for feedback throughout the creation process. These combined elements help Ungreth to create the greatest LBP levels in...erm...my entire village! | 2009-08-12 14:42:00 Author: Ungreth ![]() Posts: 2130 |

Yesh, I have to be standing on my head to create anything good ![]() Seriously though, I don't really do anything. I'll usually have my laptop on and listen to some music as well. Never have the sound of create mode on - its the stuff of nightmares. | 2009-08-12 15:21:00 Author: Coxy224 ![]() Posts: 2645 |
I always play a specific playlist titled "Create". It's filled with mellow music that helps me get going. I have to start out with "Soco Amaretto Lime" by Brand New, and then put it to shuffle after that. I can't create without Grid Mode on, it just doesn't really work for me. I have to shut off all the lights when I create too. | 2009-08-12 15:23:00 Author: BSprague ![]() Posts: 2325 |
Hmmmm I found the TV and PS3 on as well as a fully charged controller helps quite a bit... LOL!! Nah.. actually.. an idea and enough time to wack around on it a bit helps. If I become bored then I am not doing myself any good , just become frustrated, and the results ends up feeling "forced". | 2009-08-12 15:27:00 Author: jwwphotos ![]() Posts: 11383 |

LOL I asked my buddy from the uk this once on lbp, and he told me all he needs is tea and crumpets XD | 2009-08-12 15:59:00 Author: Jrange378 ![]() Posts: 573 |
Yeah, but we simply shrivel and die without tea and crumpets. That one's a given. Although I did hear a rumour that an Englishman can survive with scones instead of crumpets, but I'm not sure I could cope with that ![]() | 2009-08-12 16:06:00 Author: rtm223 ![]() Posts: 6497 |

I've always wondered, what exactly IS a crumpet? American? It's what you would call an English Muffin. "A nice bit of crumpet"...well, that's something different altogether! ![]() | 2009-08-12 16:11:00 Author: Ungreth ![]() Posts: 2130 |
You don't have to be English to enjoy a nice bit of crumpet ![]() | 2009-08-12 16:14:00 Author: wexfordian ![]() Posts: 1904 |
Yeah but enjoying a nice bit of crumpet really isn't conductive to creating... or anything productive TBH... Now, thinking about that, I'm feeling very distracted ![]() | 2009-08-12 16:16:00 Author: rtm223 ![]() Posts: 6497 |
Yeah but enjoying a nice bit of crumpet really isn't conductive to creating... I would have to argue otherwise..... Its exactly what leads to creating (if your not careful that is) ![]() | 2009-08-12 16:19:00 Author: wexfordian ![]() Posts: 1904 |
I dunno.. sometimes a good distraction is just what I need to finish a .... Wow what was that!? Uhhh.. was I saying something? ![]() | 2009-08-12 16:20:00 Author: jwwphotos ![]() Posts: 11383 |

To play TRIPPY lbp levels in the evening / midnight when you're really tired is awesome. When you're ALMOST falling asleep and you're just jumping along and grabbing whatever you find and enjoying the crazy colour effects. Preferrably play Jaeyden's Tye Dye. Even better, get into a create session with him.....trippy duuuuuuude LOOOOOL | 2009-08-12 17:20:00 Author: BasketSnake ![]() Posts: 2391 |

small hit of salvia gets the creative juices flowing. Hmmm... I would have thought you would need something stronger than that... how else do you come up with the red, blue, and green zones? Dude, I'm trippin' balls! | 2009-08-12 20:24:00 Author: CCubbage ![]() Posts: 4430 |
A cup of tea, biscuits for dunkin' and plently of GN'R songs, that gets me in the mood. Oh, and every 30 mins I stop, play my guitar and then carry on creating. ![]() | 2009-08-12 20:28:00 Author: Leather-Monkey ![]() Posts: 2266 |
I need M&Ms. Preferably peanut butter M&Ms. A beverage - iced coffee or diet Dr. Pepper usually works best. A quiet house and Holtz's planets playing on the ipod. And minimal join/invite spamming.... that ALWAYS helps ![]() Must get up every 2 hours to get (legal) chemical fix too. But I don't recommend that for those who aren't already saddled by the monkey on our back. | 2009-08-12 20:34:00 Author: Morgana25 ![]() Posts: 5983 |

Everytime I have to think on how a switch pattern should work. Like 2, 3 ways switches on a single contraption. I spin a book for like 5 minutes to think. (Longest I can spin anything flat is around 40 minutes, lol) or sometimes I just write on my notebook for a blueprint. Having a notebook for everything works so good. | 2009-08-12 21:08:00 Author: Count ![]() Posts: 315 |

I always look on here before I play. Sometimes I look on here more than I actually play. In fact, I haven't really been playing at all. But other than that, I make sure no-ones looking (NO-ONE!!!), then I get to my moon. Simple... Oh, and I usually play COD4 online before I enter LBP. | 2009-08-12 21:30:00 Author: Outlaw-Jack ![]() Posts: 5757 |

I tend to find holding the pad helps me a great deal, in fact, its probably the most important thing I need to do whilst creating. Seriously, I have to be on my own. An empty house with no distractions | 2009-08-14 16:48:00 Author: GruntosUK ![]() Posts: 1754 |
Music, food, inspiration, ps3, copy of lbp, internet, sixaxis dualshock 3 controller, TV, then i'm ready to build, i wish i could build a real level ![]() | 2009-08-14 17:52:00 Author: springs86 ![]() Posts: 785 |
