Do you like X2, X3 X4?

Do you like the multiplyerness in community levels?
If so what prizes would you like to see in them? Well made objects? Another path into the level or just more prize bubbles!?

If I'm playing with a friend and i see a x2 i normally do it but if I'm on my own i don't really bother, but if I know there is some really good object that is worth the x2 then I call up my friend to get online so we can unlock it

I don't really mind. I like to play the game single player and 2 players is fun. 3 or 4 players simultaneously I don't care much.
I didn't finish the story mode with the 100% items because there's a couple of x3 and x4 I didn't do.

As for community ones, I never do them. I don't really like prizes in this case because it's all things you can do and sometimes do better...

Hate it. Purely because the servers are so crap and the connection always sucks.

I can sometimes just about manage to do 2 player sections without horrendous lag but not very often so the majority of the time I play levels alone.

If I'm already playing a level and get a request from someone to join me I usually decline it because I know that once they join it will usually go laggy as hell and become virtually unplayable.

If the problem ever gets sorted then I would love to play multiplayer and do the multiplayer areas but as it stands it just isn't worth the hassle.

Personally I don't see much point in multiplayer in this game. For platforming it's just a bit meh, and multiplayer puzzles they are generally quite poor (one person presses a switch while the other one goes somewhere and presses another switch, et cetera). I don't collect community objects, they are almost exclusively trash... The only ones I like are the amazing artistic ones - mrsupercomputer's NPCs that he gives away, for example, are insane. I'd never use them in my levels, I build everything from scratch, but I just like to take them apart and marvel

If more creators weren't scared to make multiplayer-only levels with puzzles that require genuine lateral thinking and tight teamwork, I'd be far more inclined to play multiplayer.

I don't mind the idea.
I like it even if with 4 players you barely understand what's going on even if the game does not lag.
Then there's lag and everything dies.
Actually MM sections are quite cool most of the times, while good community levels that I remember are from Industrial Assistance and Seminal Gemini...nothing else really.

I don't care much for community objects but I do enjoy a good multiplayer challenge. 2009-08-11 14:07:00

It promotes playing together with friends, so yes I like it. Industrial Assistance by jackofcourse is a great example of 2x done right. 2009-08-11 14:18:00

No preference where community levels are concerned, but I think it's ridiculous that you can't get all the prizes in offline story mode solo.2009-08-11 14:25:00

I made a similar thread to this before starting Industrial Assistance, I had made a small 2 player section in Calamity Construction and really enjoyed the different way of thinking.

I was curious as to whether it would be viable making a whole two player level because of the obvious drawbacks that have been mentioned here. The response was pretty conclusive and all said they liked the idea and thought it would be a good for me to try something like this.

Personally, I love two player areas, if there are two of us I most certainly will do it, whether it is an alternate route, or for prize bubbles. I don't necessarily do it to get the prize bubbles, but more to see how the two player area was built and just to enjoy the challenge of it.

3 and 4 player areas I'm not so keen on. It's hard to get 3 or 4 in the game, and even when you do the puzzles are usually pretty poor and just about standing on buttons together. When making Industrial Assistance I came up with a few good 3/4 player ideas that were a bit more complicated and would actually require teamwork. But I will never make a level around them, the return would just be so minimal I couldn't justify spending all that time on it.

I love 2x areas. But I hate 3x and 4x.
