Taking Apart Story Objects
Archive: 16 posts
Have you ever wanted to take apart a story object to see how it ticks? If so, I'll tell you! All you have to do is glue it to the ground, then detatch it! If it makes the detatch noise, but it still says its stuck, then you did it right. Then you unselect it, and then reselect it! Voila! Also, it's still treated as one object. To get one of the pieces sepreatly, just copy it. I hope this helps! | 2009-08-10 22:37:00 Author: Drakora Posts: 392 |

You can also change the pieces you don't want to dissolve, attach a switch, dissolve them and you're left with the pieces you do want. | 2009-08-14 16:31:00 Author: Lady_Luck__777 Posts: 3458 |

That lazer is a funny thing. speed doesn't dim it, but direction does. wierd. Thanks for that tip. I had accedentally done it but I never left poppet, so ended up just turning parts into glass and putting awhite sticker on to see them in action. | 2009-08-15 15:51:00 Author: swanbrown Posts: 898 |
you can also place the story item on the ground and let some stone fall on it | 2009-08-15 15:56:00 Author: Unknown User |

Yea.. thats probley the worst way to do it. but it is stil an option | 2009-08-15 16:32:00 Author: Unknown User |
Wrong, if you detach it, it'll delete the whole thing. Best way is to turn it into dissolve, then attach it to a button and... yeah, you get the point. | 2009-08-15 16:39:00 Author: Unknown User |
there's a really great tutorial vid on the Extracting Tweakable Lasers in Cornish Yarg, Creating a Laser (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=t=10988) thread It takes you through some really nice methods of taking objects apart and manipulating them. and BONUS! you get a tweakable laser out of the deal. cool, huh? | 2009-08-15 17:10:00 Author: swanbrown Posts: 898 |
@Leonardo : Nope, detaching it doesn't delete a thing. Only deletes if you choose one of the already seperated parts from the object, THEN it deletes the whole thing. Trust me, I did the twekable laser thing, along with some other stuff that I will never share (Alright, play, create, share, I know, I MIGHT share my secrets ) | 2009-08-15 21:56:00 Author: goldenclaw13 Posts: 224 |
