Emitted one shot flipper bolt not working
Archive: 5 posts
OK I have a contraption that includes a flipper wobble bolt. This wobble bolt is activate by prox and is very very important that it works. When I test the contraction in a little dev area in the corner of my level it works. When I capture it, then place a copy in the actual area... it works. When I emit it into the area it works about 1 time in 5. When I take the emitted version, copy it and then place it it works again. I'm stuck. Really really stuck.... edit - I didn't actually ask a question, but hopefully it's implied edit 2. I've worked a vague solution using directional control of a fast woble bolt instead, it's not nice | 2009-08-09 13:32:00 Author: rtm223 Posts: 6497 |
Hmmm.... Wait, you test the contraction? Congratualations on your new baby! ... But, seriously, I have no idea. To tell the truth, I'm only posting on this thread so that you don't feel left out, what with your thread having no replies. Edit: Actually, it just sounds like one of those irritating glitches. Try making a new one, see if that works. And if it doesn't, through your controller at the wall! | 2009-08-10 10:09:00 Author: resistance1 Posts: 812 |
In my LittleBigMemory level, to check if the color selected is the right one, I emit a "checker". It goes in front of the piece and a directional wobble bolt moves clockwise or counterclockwise based on the magnetic key from the piece. If it is wrong, one piece is emitted above it, and if it's right, a different piece is emitted above it. I originally had several issues with it. It would work, but the emitted version would never work, exactly like your problem. Slowing it down by a few tenths of a second fixed the problem, emitting it threw off the timing for some reason. Hopefully that works and is a viable solution for you. | 2009-08-10 13:39:00 Author: BSprague Posts: 2325 |
No, I tried changing the settings and remaking the bolt and sensor. The timing on a one-shot bolt doesn't actually change whether it fires in the first place or not. It's a pain. The directional control works reasonably well - I think you can testify to that after your nasty experience with my rats BSprague | 2009-08-11 11:29:00 Author: rtm223 Posts: 6497 |
