The Perpetual Distance - (Chapter I) -KoRnDawwg THE SERIES IS NO MORE -- I'm sorry to say this, but I've decided to stop making this series. I'm taking a huge break from creating, I may not create another level after DMC V but even so, I'm stopping for now, and putting all my work and dedication into music. I am sorry, please, someone lock this thread... All apologies, Mikey the Dawwg. | 2009-08-08 20:43:00 Author: KoRnDawwg Posts: 1424 |
Holy Moley, I am SO on this level... Will report soon. | 2009-08-08 21:34:00 Author: MrsSpookyBuz Posts: 1492 |
LOL Thanks xD The four player earlier really proved how the level's not intended for multiplayer, the switches and cameras only suit one person Unless I do some tweaking...Which I haven't got the thermo for | 2009-08-08 21:45:00 Author: KoRnDawwg Posts: 1424 |
Played it earlier today, truly epic. Only thing i might suggest is possibly having the lizeth machine walk out from the ruins instead of falling like it does. I think that might also decrease the bounciness a little. Great story, great lighting, great music, great use of the extra layers, great level! 5 and a heart of course | 2009-08-08 21:55:00 Author: Burnvictim42 Posts: 3322 |

Right, played it twice: once on my own and once with two others. Here we go... Let's get the cons out the way first. I absolutely appreciate that this series is story-dependant, and I applaud you for that, but there are a lot of speech bubbles. I like them, but they may prove a tad frustrating for some impatient players. I think that's all the cons! Anyway, to the really positive stuff... Wow, what a beautiful level. What a creative, artistic and thoroughly involving level! It's a fun, complex experience, and one that I thought was very satisfying and fabulous to play through. Platforming, puzzles and secrets all gelled to make a great adventure. I thought the storyline was well presented, and the detail was brilliant. Very good ending too, and provoked a welcome sigh of relief that it was over, with hopefully more to come! Overall, superb! (but watch out for the multiplayer ending - my friends died and respawned in the scoreboard to get continuously squished!) I rated 5*, hearted, and tagged with 'Brilliant'. | 2009-08-08 22:41:00 Author: MrsSpookyBuz Posts: 1492 |
Just played it and I liked it more than the original. I especially liked how you used the 3D glitch, it looked really good, unlike most of the levels that use it. Major props yo. The obstacles were also fun, and I really liked the green shooty-thingies. The story also seems to be picking up but I didn't understand the significance of the inn (maybe missed that part). Speaking of the inn, I liked the music you used, it was purty. The only thing I didn't like was how the green shooty-thingies only required a simple button push. Maybe the green launcher could be movable and we have to aim it. Of course you can't add it now but its an idea for the sequel. :star::star::star::star::star: and a heart. | 2009-08-09 02:46:00 Author: RickTheRipper Posts: 345 |
I played your prologue and this level tonight and JEEZ, i'm not diappointed that's for sure. Tell me about a quality level. You had everything in there: Action, platforming (ok, just a little), custom music, good story and scenes! This must really be a toll on the thermo You also make a very good use of background edition. God I would like this to become a feature someday. And if not, your level will be forever unique. Pros: -Your cat dude that presses a switch! -You totally validate the need of background editing. -The shooting stuff felt somewhat original. -It's looking good in overall. Nice attention to detail. -Non-annoying use of the lighting tool. -I love your spikes platform that opens! -The end sequence starting when you open the chest. WOW. -You guy at the end pulling the switch and killing the awesome machine. Cons: -Not much into stories, at least yours good! -I waited some minute on the elevator (the ones with grass) thinking it would lift up by itself. At some point I grabbed them. Anyhow, its just to image it didn't felt intuitive to me to grab elevators. It's not a real real con. -There are some sounds and text bubbles you might not want to be permanent. Also, the explosion near the end can happen multiple times. You really surpassed yourself there buddy. And I will totally play the next one. Keep the 3D backgrounding if you can and keep up with the scenes and special happenings. NPCs pulling switches and stuff or participating with you in the action = auto awesomeness. :star::star::star::star::star: + heart + brilliant . | 2009-08-09 03:07:00 Author: RangerZero Posts: 3901 |
Just got done playing this - great job! I LOVE strange, twisting stories - and this one about takes the cake. Anyway, I don't have any critisisms - it all worked nicely for me. Just wanted to stop by your thread and say I enjoyed it! 5 stars and a heart. | 2009-08-09 04:25:00 Author: CCubbage Posts: 4430 |
Yeah, this is really an insane time for LBP, with even DMC master "Kornie" added to the list of great creator's release. Guys, you're my making my day(s)! | 2009-08-09 06:21:00 Author: OmegaSlayer Posts: 5112 |
Thank you so much guys! Surprised at how well the level is doing, I really aprreciate the feedback! I will work on your suggestions now I may have to call upon Cog for a video, but quite honestly, I'm not sure he'll have time | 2009-08-09 11:11:00 Author: KoRnDawwg Posts: 1424 |

WOW, you're level looks magnificient to say the least. Your awesome artstyle + a wonderful use of the layer glitch...but I have to be the annoying hassle as ever. As everyone knows my English sucks, and actually I don't understand the Trajectyle stuff. I place my self in the little spot with green light and press R1 but nothing happens, so actually I didn't proceed further into the level. Can someone please explain to me how the thing works? Nevermind, I did it. Well as I said earlier I confirm that the level is wonderful, good story, good music, awesome mechanics with emitters on 3 layers. 5 stars! | 2009-08-09 16:25:00 Author: OmegaSlayer Posts: 5112 |

LOL trajectile is a made up word, crossing "trajectory", which is the path of an object or body taken through space (which includes the orbit of a moon around a planet, or a planet/body around the Sun), and "projectile". It's just struck me that "trajectory" also includes projectiles, but meh. Trajectile sounds cool I may have to republish this level, since it isn't doing very well in terms of plays. I would usually expect at least 300 by now but I'm stuck with a mere 140, which is nothing compared to the prologue. Very disappointed... | 2009-08-10 10:53:00 Author: KoRnDawwg Posts: 1424 |
can wait for Chapter 2 i hope it wil be awsome like chapter 1 | 2009-08-10 12:47:00 Author: Unknown User |
Just to know KoRnDawwg, how much is the layer glitch thermo unfriendly? | 2009-08-10 13:07:00 Author: OmegaSlayer Posts: 5112 |
Just to know KoRnDawwg, how much is the layer glitch thermo unfriendly? Well as far as I know, it's perfectly okay on the thermo. The only thing which really killed me was the complex shapes, I used the corner editor way too much and the thermometer eventually caught up with me. But the use of the layer glitch really doesn't have much of an effect, just don't overuse it | 2009-08-10 14:24:00 Author: KoRnDawwg Posts: 1424 |
I don't play to use it at all, actually, but I wanted to know that info from someone that used the glitch with brain. | 2009-08-10 14:35:00 Author: OmegaSlayer Posts: 5112 |
I don't play to use it at all, actually, but I wanted to know that info from someone that used the glitch with brain. Hehheh! Well, it wouldn't matter anyway since the glitch is going to be patched. No layer stuff is going to be present in chapter II Which I think is a good thing 'cause it will help me to properly concentrate on the next theme...It's a magical forest...I'm not saying much else | 2009-08-10 20:51:00 Author: KoRnDawwg Posts: 1424 |
