Actually... Soliciting for hearts is prohibited in these forums, and a Mod will likely lock this thread very soon.

Around here we believe you need to earn your hearts. If you've created a heart-worthy level, then create a post in the Level Showcase (http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=40) forum. I suggest including some pics from the level and perhaps even a video. If you're willing, you can prefix your thread title with F4F. This stands for Feedback-For-Feedback (our solution to H4H). Then go play some of the other F4F levels in the Level Showcase, return to their threads and offer your feedback, and this will be reciprocated. Also check out some sage advice from our administrator: How to Maximize Level Feedback (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=t=10692)

If your level is a work of quality, then the hearts will come naturally. And if not, this awesome community will offer constructive, thoughtful suggestions to help improve both your level and you as a creator - I guarantee it.

But please don't come begging for hearts. It's really not cool.

AS Vortex says, around here we don't really do this sort of thing. We very much encourage you to share your creations though. Just making a thread in the showcase will get you plenty of plays. If people think you deserve a good rating and a heart, then you will get it, even better though is that regardless of the quality of your level (assuming you put some effort into it) you will get constructive critisism and advice from some of the best creators in the community. That's the only kind of help you wil get around here. IMO it's the best kind.

So go get your F4F on

If you wanted the trophy that badly you'd get it the proper way and spend your time making a good level. If your level isn't getting you all the hearts you want, then make it better, get some feedback on it using this sites level showcase. There are loads of ways to get plays and hearts, and you're doing it the hard way. 2009-08-08 15:02:00

You may not mean any harm, but please do not H4H, it's cheating, earn your trophies the honest way and make super awesome levels, put your level in level showcase with F4F and you may get hearts 2009-08-08 19:52:00

I don't think the moderators can suspend you for something as minor as this, people might heart them if their levels are good and you can't expect everyone to know the rules straight away.

Hey trigun. Don't worry that you've made a bit of a faux pas early on at LBPC. In fairness, yes there are rules here but they aren't enforced with an iron fist at all. You won't get any H4H here but please ignore the people flaming you for asking. In honesty, who actually reads through all the rules and regulations of a forum when they sign up. I don't. I know you're supposed to but still...

Anyway, we really are very forgiving and I'm sure as you continue your stay here you will get used to our slightly unconventional ways

yes! THIS for the win. I could have got the create trophy from just ONE level I made and the people who played it on this forum, but because they like it AND because they had a lot of feedback and made me a much better creator. So this is the place to be for the trophy but it's more of a resource to EARN it, and no where near a H4H site.

Let's dissect this.

Hello I'm new to this place.
Welcome to the forums.

Now i know there has probably been 100's of threads of people asking you to heart them and stuff.
Not to be harsh, but you should have definitely read them. I bet they look very similar to this thread.

I don't know where else to turn.
Any of those threads will have been filled with people suggesting F4F, a great feature of the forums here.

I have 20 plays on my level so far and 10 hearts on my level and 7 hearts on me. so i need 30 hearts on me and 50 hearts on my level.
Don't worry about getting the Create trophy. Instant gratification isn't a healthy style of doing things, and while I could go into a long-winded explanation, I'll simply say that earning it will feel a lot better. The sound of getting that trophy will be very hollow if you simply H4H your way there.

If you could leave a comment or leave your psn id and level name in this theard i can heart you back.
No. Up until this point, I didn't really mind this thread and would have just passed over it. While asking for hearts is bad, if people play your level because of this thread and enjoy it and subsequently heart it, there is nothing wrong with that. Giving them away completes the mindlessness of H4Hing, and completely ruins the basic idea of LittleBigPlanet.

So help me and i will help you. Thanks in advance.
This is ironic to me, because nobody is being helped here. Getting free hearts isn't going to make anyone a better creator, or a more experienced/accomplished person. You will end up with a level filled up with emptiness. That seems paradoxical, but it's true.

Earn your hearts.
Learn from some of the more experienced members here.
Enjoy LittleBigPlanet.
Play some of the great levels other people have made here for inspiration.
Try F4F, we can help you to make your level even better.
Hone your creating skills.
Practice makes perfect.
Make a level you are proud of, and rightfully get the trophy will hearts from people who gave you them because they were truly in love with your level.

I could go on for days with these minor details, but I think I've gotten my point across. Take LittleBigPlanet and play it right, you will enjoy the experience much more. There are no true shortcuts in life, so don't train yourself for them here.

Quoted for emphasis of content, and because I wanted to read this twice. Very well stated BSprague.

I checked out your level, and here are some thoughts, and ways to make it better.

As Far as first levels go, it's better than many.

The first thing to improve this level is really easy. Tweak your global lighting. Keep in mind when you do, that players like to be able to see them-selves and what's around them. A good rule-of-thumb is if you find it hard to navigate in edit, the player will find it hard in play mode.

The little rocket that flipped around as you tried to use it was a lot of fun. I'd 86 the big one, and go with 2 or 3 small ones.

The cow udder grabbys could be funny if you added a "MOO!" sound effect to them. Just take a speaker and a grab switch and stick 'em to the sponge, then hook the switch to the speaker. easy-peasy, cough 'an sneezy.

I liked that You had a hidden prize bubble just before the end. You could run with that concept and have the path continue back to the left with assorted bonuses, and maybe some more cow udders for fun.

When I first saw the paintinator, I was a little confused why you put it there, then I realized it was the only way to get the bubble embedded in the hanging girder. Very cool puzzle! you may want to add some score bubbles and make it a tad shorter on the heavy end to make it more worth it for a player to stop running and experience this challenge. I think you could repeat it a couple more times, too, with out the player getting board.

Music in a level is a good thing, So that was a good choice. Hard to go wrong with the go team.

One of the things I liked, is that you had some objects you had put together your-self in the level. Original objects, no matter how crude, tend to impress more than cut-and paste story objects.

At the end of the level, you have a sign blocking the view of the score board. Players like to be able to see if their score made the top, and it ticks them off if they can't. One solution would be to make the sign a little smaller, and offset it to the side since you can still see a little off screen when the score routine is going. you could also put another one just before the scoreboard, so the player sees it going in. (Not my place to say what you put on it.)

Well, that should help you get a good jump on many other creators with this level. I'll even pop by and play it from time to time to see how it's going. I'm sure as it improves, my ratings will too!

If you need a hand or have questions I'd be happy to help. I'm sure you'll find a grip of creators here more than happy to help-out and rate your level.

P.S. I Highly recomend you change the word "Heart" in the title of the thread to "Help"
