Den mothers

This thread is to appreciate all the players known as "Den Mothers" who look after the younger members (and older apparently) of LBP keeping them in order and what not, generally the good eggs of lbp who are always there to talk to, if u would like to put one forward leave a comment and i will try to add them currently i have these people who i would consider as been a den mother, Den Mothers MrsSpookyBuz Morgana25 Icemaiden Mistervista Mrsvista RockSauron rtm223 Lady-Luck--777 xkappax Comphermc Den sisters CCubbage i have included these out of personal experience and threads i have read i hope i can find a few more | 2009-08-06 17:34:00 Author: Kern Posts: 5078 |
I'd like to nomnomnominate RockSauron. He is always there for me whenever I need a peanut, or to be consumed. | 2009-08-06 17:39:00 Author: ARD Posts: 4291 |

Oh gee. Yea, that's me alright. Didn't set out to be but it's sort of a natural thing for me. Glad to do it too. | 2009-08-06 17:56:00 Author: Morgana25 Posts: 5983 |
Oh gee. Yea, that's me alright. Didn't set out to be but it's sort of a natural thing for me. Glad to do it too. Mmm-hmm. We all knew you'd get on there. Making all the new membs feel at home (while they still pay any attention to this site...) is really what makes this sight feel so welcoming. Hmm... I nominate... err... give me a sec. | 2009-08-06 18:07:00 Author: Outlaw-Jack Posts: 5757 |
Morgana is the denmother!! Even to adults....wich is weird. | 2009-08-06 19:33:00 Author: Zwollie Posts: 2173 |
Great thread! I definately agree.... although I THINK both of them are younger than me, so they can't be MY Den Mother. Den Sister? Also, don't forget IceMaiden, of without whom I still would have no idea what thrupnies were. (I've been waiting for over a week for another thrupny reference... that's a record for me). | 2009-08-06 19:43:00 Author: CCubbage Posts: 4430 |
Morgana is the denmother!! Even to adults....wich is weird. It's not my fault that your a handful! j/k I usually have a huge age range in the pod so I think I default into den mother mode. I can live with den sister CCubbage | 2009-08-06 19:47:00 Author: Morgana25 Posts: 5983 |
Honestly, I've played with Morgana and I loved it! Looking after experience players as well as keeping the young kids in check! Brilliant Morgana - thanks a lot for it | 2009-08-06 20:17:00 Author: Coxy224 Posts: 2645 |
Also, don't forget IceMaiden, of without whom I still would have no idea what thrupnies were. (I've been waiting for over a week for another thrupny reference... that's a record for me). Mentioning thrupnies in front of your Den Sisters is not allowed. It's just too weird. | 2009-08-06 20:39:00 Author: MrsSpookyBuz Posts: 1492 |
You are correct.... I hadn't thought of that. A bit creepy. Ok, then - no more of that! | 2009-08-06 20:42:00 Author: CCubbage Posts: 4430 |
Cool thread, except, hold on, wth?? why u talking about thrupnies?? ewwww I know what that means back on topic, i have no idea who to nominate, have to check, the nominated people already are cool, i'll post back here | 2009-08-06 20:47:00 Author: springs86 Posts: 785 |
Oh gee. Yea, that's me alright. Didn't set out to be but it's sort of a natural thing for me. Glad to do it too. I haven't had the pleasure of playing online with MrsSpookyBuz or Icey, but I would say Morgana definatly rocks at den mother/sister. The combination of being patient, kind, with just the right amount of "Now Now.. Language!" ..all the while hearing her gadding about going.. OOoooOOooo WeeeEEeeee Nice!!...Oh I love this! Uh hum oh.. yeah this is great.. oh Oh oh Sorry! Sorry! ..whilst she races to find a portal. It just cracks me up to no end! Though she is younger, I'm still a youngin at heart so most fun. | 2009-08-06 21:18:00 Author: jwwphotos Posts: 11383 |
I've very very nearly had the pleasure of playing online with Morgana - but, 'Morgana-Popular-Paula-Abdul-of-LBP-Chroma-Girl-Cat-Loving-Artistic-25' (to quote her FULL title!), has always got a full house! We'll rectify this soon. And Icey is so busy making her levels so beautiful and bopping hubby with a broom (or was that coyote_blue's suggestion?! lol), that she is simply too busy being wonderfully creative and feeding her cats. My nomination, however, goes to Mr and Mrs Vista (mistervista, mrsvista). My goodness, we've had some belly laughs in our pods! They are the archetypal welcoming Den Couple. As mistervista usually has a mic on, it was SO funny either having a chat or playing a level, with mrsvista in the background, laughing or telling MrV what to do. In fact, she got so involved, that neither of them go out, eat, sleep or answer the phone. LBP Homely Couple of the Year Award, easy! | 2009-08-06 21:45:00 Author: MrsSpookyBuz Posts: 1492 |
Please explain "Den Mother"... | 2009-08-06 21:57:00 Author: OmegaSlayer Posts: 5112 |

OmegaSlayer, a 'Den Mother' is a friendly term for someone who looks after others. When you put it that way... I guess I am a den mother to a certain communist... Oooooooooh yeah, code ^-^ | 2009-08-06 22:42:00 Author: RockSauron Posts: 10882 |
When you put it that way... I guess I am a den mother to a certain communist... Oooooooooh yeah, code ^-^ ... why do I always have to be involved? | 2009-08-06 22:44:00 Author: Code1337 Posts: 3476 |
Aaaah MrsSB thats lovely, thank you from both of us and that is so true. Mistervista wants to know if you have cctv set up in our living room?!! MrsSB we love you!! | 2009-08-06 22:56:00 Author: mrsvista Posts: 755 |
Aaaah MrsSB thats lovely, thank you from both of us and that is so true. Mistervista wants to know if you have cctv set up in our living room?!! MrsSB we love you!! It IS true - I've spat out many a mouthful of wine listening to MrV cursing as he tries to get through a difficult level - and then hearing you in the background saying, innocently, "Just JUMP!" lol. Cracks me up every time, especially as the 'Vista' family accent is almost exactly the same as the Spooky's! PS - Just to prove the point - I've just had a hilarious message from your hubby on PSN - complaining about how crap the servers are every time DLC is coming out. It is SO funny, and it's exactly what Spookybuz says to me! | 2009-08-06 23:10:00 Author: MrsSpookyBuz Posts: 1492 |
Oh gee. Yea, that's me alright. Didn't set out to be but it's sort of a natural thing for me. Glad to do it too. You couldn't be a genuine den mother if the nuturing instinct wasn't natural Honestly, I've played with Morgana and I loved it! I don't tihnk that is appropriate information for a family forum My den mother here is rtm223. Awesome! I got nominated and I'm not even sure if I'm old enough to qualify, or even female! Edit - actually I'm pretty sure I'm very much not female... at least last time I checked I wasn't | 2009-08-07 00:00:00 Author: rtm223 Posts: 6497 |
Thank you so much for nominating me KernelM. That really is the nicest thing ever! I haven't done an awful lot to help anybody really, apart from introduce a certain respected member of the forum to 'Thrupnies'. I tend to be a wee bit shy and don't like to force myself on people so I haven't interacted as much as the other Den Mothers. Actually it's because I'm a miserable old so and so, extremely anti-social and can scare people half to death with a side-long glance and a scowl on my face that would curdle the milk!! It's true, I am old enough to be everybody's mother, even mrvista so I guess I could take you lot under my somewhat ruffled feathers, just don't start asking me for money ok!! I'm off to feed the cats, again, and then chase Rhy around with the broom. Thank you, I love this thread. I nominate Lady_Luck__777 just because she's lovely. I would nominate rtm223 as well, since his help has been invaluable to me in the creation process. However, I think the term "technical consultant" would be more fitting. Den Mother just sounds so very, very wrong. | 2009-08-07 09:18:00 Author: Ungreth Posts: 2130 |
Actually when you hatch here in LBPC, the first thing you see when you open your eyes in the glitchy world of LBP is the caring and kind ninja face of rtm223...then his eyes are really the eyes of a den something. | 2009-08-07 10:02:00 Author: OmegaSlayer Posts: 5112 |

Ooh! Ooh! I nominate xkappax! ANd this time I'm being serious xD She has helped me a lot...even if I haven't finished a level for months, the stuff in the levels would have been worse without her. Or something. | 2009-08-08 13:17:00 Author: ARD Posts: 4291 |
Morgana is the denmother!! Even to adults....wich is weird. This is true. Being quite a bit older than Morgana, I still felt all warm and fuzzy as she held my hand through the story levels. Thanks yet again for your help Morgana. I am ever your adoring cub. | 2009-08-08 13:46:00 Author: v0rtex Posts: 1878 |

I agree with xkappax's nomination for sure. She's always so friendly and mellow when I've been given the opportunity to play with her. | 2009-08-09 05:35:00 Author: Morgana25 Posts: 5983 |
hah hah hah. I guess you guys are right. I am one of those mothers who has no control over her kids though. lol. People are smacking each other and throwing each other into pits, and FullGorr is going around making everything in sight "male". | 2009-08-09 14:59:00 Author: xkappax Posts: 2569 |
"Well I'm looking for someone to play with me... [rimshot] Whoooa!" Wasn't too sure about this thread when it started... but I've enjoyed the read... As a player Morgana did in fact patiently wait for me in a death dealing lag-fest. And has always answered every question I throw at her. RTM is my top choice for technical advisor and so generous to share pure genius and humble... (although I lost the code and was too embarrassed to tell you yet again...) Cubbage, respected retro rascal pulling LBP by sheer sense of genius, always willing to talk all things play, create and share... xkappax, charmingly mellow and ever informative, giving, offering more than was requested. Don't know the 'Vistas all that well...' was always suspicious they were one and the same... Great sense of humour and immensly talented... c'mon, two such people with the same name... What are the odds? And the oppurtunity to meet and pick such creative brains (Icey...) Anyway, to you all, I owe a world of thanks. Mothers, brothers, sisters, my 'pod-people'. | 2009-08-09 15:56:00 Author: Gravel Posts: 1308 |

As a new comer I feel qualified to nominate Comphermc. He had been helping me along in LBP even Before I joined LBPC. And when I got here, he stepped it up even more and has been invaluable. Come to think of it, seeing the logo on his levels is the reason I decided to search this forum out. As a newly nominated den-mother, He's up against some heavy competition for the "grand-den-mother" title. every one I see on the list has been just super! I'd feel weird voting so I'm not going to. Just happy to be in such illustrious company lol, me too morgana! It started out as cutesy fun, but now there's a poll, I feel a bit embarrassed. So I'm not voting either. However, with true love and loyalty that you can only get from a devoted husband, SpookyBuz voted for you! lol (He said "I'm voting for the Chroma Girl, is that okay?") LOL - that's awesome! Many thanks to Mr. Spooky Buz One of these days we HAVE to play LBP. I feel like I'm letting my "fan" down. Hope he's over the phase of calling money Chroma in public.... still makes me laugh! lol - Yes, we MUST play soon, just so he can stop crying every time he sees you're offline! But I'll make sure he's on his best behaviour! As for the Chroma thing, no such luck for me. It isn't just money now, it's now started to mean anything that is good or worth value - almost like the word 'cool'. For instance, him and his friend were watching me build and having a few beers. I actually managed to do something quite cool, which surprisingly worked, and my husband and friend 'clinked' glasses, winked, and said "Chroma!" lolol | 2009-08-12 22:18:00 Author: MrsSpookyBuz Posts: 1492 |

Nice. I'd consider all the mods and admins "professional den mothers" I think. They are part of the army that keeps this great forum running and are always helpful. Oh thats how its going down eh! Oh and I recieved the postcard you sent me thanks, looks lovely http://www.jumbojoke.com/images/florida2.jpg Funny thing is...... that is EXACTLY where I live (about 30 miles south). And I WAS, in fact, hit by that hurricane. True story. I spent the next 6 months doing volunteer roofing work with a team of contractors every weekend, and did all-night security every Wednesday for the warehouses that had the roofing supplies. The cool thing is, my roof had JUST been replaced and had no damage - and there was a palm tree in my front yard I had been wanting to get rid of for years to extend my driveway (my wife liked it....) - gone! | 2009-08-14 16:12:00 Author: CCubbage Posts: 4430 |

Does this mean you're going to start tucking us in at night? Not you personally... although you do seem to call it quits pretty early. Well, earlier than my 2-5am nights. lol | 2009-09-01 16:12:00 Author: Morgana25 Posts: 5983 |

Congrats, Morgana. Title change, perhaps? On a side note, who are the 6 people who voted for me...? Lol, how am I a den mother? I've changed it Paula left American Idol anyway and I'm not going anywhere so - yea. It looks a little harsh though... I might have to play around with it to make it more "me" Thanks again everyone | 2009-09-01 16:29:00 Author: Morgana25 Posts: 5983 |

Woot! All hail Chroma-licious Morgana - true Grand Den Mother! Nice one, and a fair vote well met. | 2009-09-01 22:08:00 Author: MrsSpookyBuz Posts: 1492 |
Excellent! Congrats Morgana! You most definitely deserve this. Although... I agree that you may want to re-think the wording of that title. I mean... if ya drop the "Den" it suddenly reads, "Grand Mother of LBPC", and while I'm sure that your cookies are warm and fresh, I just don't picture you as Grandmother to any of us. Just sayin'... Perhaps "Chief Den Mother of LBPC" ? or "LBPC Den Mother Extraordinaire"? "High Den Mother Exalted"? (no.. perhaps not... when I was a Cub Scout, I think our Den Mother actually was high most of the time) | 2009-09-01 22:44:00 Author: v0rtex Posts: 1878 |
lol - I'm working on a much more "hip" version Vortex. There's been a suggestion to throw the word Chroma in there too... so many words - so few character spaces - hmm... I'll work it out | 2009-09-01 22:46:00 Author: Morgana25 Posts: 5983 |
Or we could just be done with it and call you Granny. | 2009-09-01 22:47:00 Author: v0rtex Posts: 1878 |
