50 layer glitch?

| I was playing what I thought was just another glitch museum level, when, as I neared the end, I saw things talking about a "50 layer glitch", and I saw layers and objects go all the way to the background! I could still only stay within the 3 normal layers, but it was incredible! Has anyone ever heard of this before?
