http://i114.photobucket.com/albums/n249/koss911/APhoto_1.jpgIn an ancient temple, a great and terrible power was once sealed away. Now it's up to SackBoy to help the Professor find this once hidden force. Make your way through the four Elemental Trials to open the old stone doors that block the way to the final chamber. Seek out the pieces of the Hero's Crest to claim the hidden treasures deep within. But be warned, not everything that has been locked away to history's grasp should be dug back up...

Little background info for you all, this level was one of the earliest designs I brought into fruition. I personally feel it's a bit solid but lacks some visual pizazz, namely because I can't think of a way to punch it up anymore.

There is a rough draft of an expanded version of this level, as I've been told things like "It's too short" or "not epic enough", but that version is on hold until my next level is done.

There is a video located HERE (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VWDGkXzWtps). (I apologize for the poor quality. It was done in 480i on an old Dazzle bridge I had from my old pre-digital days of doing Anime Music Videos.)

I actually quite enjoyed what I played, especially the Ice area, All, the cold colours, and the blue gas in the background. But in the other areas, I understand by what you mean that it's missing 'Pizazz'.

I was having a bit of trouble in the Earth area, I think, how when I was dragging things about, they would get stuck and get squashed by that wheel thing and that platform going up and down. Could you perhaps work on that, or at least keep it in mind for future levels or further improvements?

But yeah, everything works quite nice, and I can easily tell what I'm doing. You said this was a draft for a expanded version? If you do make it, or if it's already finished, I would be glad to check it out. Looks pretty promising.

I changed things about a little so if nothing else the Idols the won't get smashed underneath the wheel in the Earth Trial. I also found a solution to the odd hanging problem with the Blue Idol and the wheel.

I'm waiting on the History Kit for the next revision. I have no doubt that it should provide some essential tools to the visual aspects of the next version of the Temple.

Anyway, to seek more specific feedback from anyone who wants to give it a whirl:
> The Boss: Too easy? Too Hard? Too Big? Not worth it? Not "Cool looking" enough?
> The Story: It's flimsy. I know. Should it be bigger? Is it enough? Is there enough to piece together what to do?

Once again, thanks for everything.

Hey,

I didn't notice any problems with the idols when I gave it a try, everything in that area went smoothly.
I had a good time playing your level, everything was glitch free and fun. Having said that, it is definitely short on the pizzazz. Try using stickers and decorations; you would be surprised how much they can add. For instance, in my level, what would be a boring mountain tunnel was rather transformed by pinning barnacles and burn marks all over it. Just take some cues from other creators and go from there. I enjoyed your level quite a bit, but it was really lacking that "wow" factor that only cool visuals can get you.

If you wouldn't mind giving my level "The Adventures of the Prince: Chapter 1 The Attack" a play through I would really appreciate. The link to my thread can be found by clicking on my signature image.

Thank you, and good job!

Is your level still called "The Elemental Temple"? I've been trying to find it. When I search the title, no luck. I tried your PSN as well, and still no luck. Do you have any other levels that I could search, so I can find this one? 2009-08-29 03:00:00

Now that Search has been restored to it's former glory, the Elemental Temple DX is now up and running. (DX is for Director's Cut... No I don't know how Cut becomes X. I didn't come up with it... Don't roll your eyes!) which adds new visuals, some changes in difficulty and design and rhyming!

And of course, any and all comments are extremely appreciated! Needless to say a completely revamped and cleaned up incarnation of the concept is coming out as part of a trilogy of levels I'm working on. So any tips here can also help me there!

That level was really awesome =)
I like the variety of situations u found, the ice area ( as sumone said up there) is the best ^^
But the others are also great, earth one is complex but great and funny.
I didnt like some materials u used, but thts my opinion.
Also decorate more the level and it ll be much better.
Best wishes,
Pamat1.

What materials didn't you like? I tried to narrow it down so each section only used materials that would 1) Relate to it's theme (Water, Fire, Earth, Air and the Central Temple) and 2) would make each theme identifiable.

Also, on the decoration angle, I'm almost completely stumped. I'm nearly out of thermo and racking my brain for how to "decorate" this place any more. So any and all tips or suggestions in that vein help.
