I might be missing something here, but how do I insert some basic html into posts? I'd like to put a table in <table> <tr> <td>stuff</td> <td>more stuff</td> </tr> </table> but every option I try just parses as I've typed (php addslashes?) and doesn't format as it should look. Is there a BB option I'm missing? Rhy

HTML is very dangerous - it can easily destroy the site layout. As such, HTML is not supported on our site. Instead, BB Code is replaced by HTML when it is parsed, so we can exactly control the HTML that replaces it. <table> is not a supported tag. It's possible to add a [table] BBCode, but I don't think it's necessary.

Thanks CC - I do understand the problems associated with injection of true html, but the BB option would have been handy. I did try the [table] think but it just parses as text again.. No problem - it's not critical and I know it would be a major pain to program in. Rhy

Where Is a good place to go to learn more about BB code options? Oh, wait I found a good reference page: http://www.bbcode.org/reference.php If you know of a better source, let me know. Thanks in advance.

You can't rely on standard BB code though as many forums have a standard blanket piece of code to stip out all tags (php striptags()) and only allow certain code through. I think I might try some other options to see which ones work. Rhy
