Awesomemans Reviews: The 7th Idol by Miglioshin

Archive: 2 posts

Miglioshin is a fantastic creator who is responsible for some of my favorite levels. The 7th Idol is a survival challenge where you just have to do what you do in every survival challenge: get to the end alive with all the points you can find. All the survival challenges that I've played have been incredibly simple and boring, even the MM ones. Is the 7th Idol any different?

The 7th Idol looks just fine. It doesn't look great, though. It seems to be missing the extra layer of detail that makes levels like Tree Fortress 2 MM quality, but it's just fine. Miglioshin decided to do a weird, thing, though. He made his own switches, which doesn't really make sense, but whatever. All the shapes look nice and it's designed with the creativity I wish I had, and as long as it isn't just a bunch of basic wood and dark matter, who cares, right?

We all know that Survival Challenges aren't really the best levels. They're nice distractions but to me, they've never been anything I wanted to go back to. The 7th Idol is different. It's full of an overwhelming amount of hidden passages and obstacles that you'll just ignore in fear of not making the perfect jump. I've played it at least eight times because you always discover something new. I still haven't found all seven idols, I haven't even made it through alive yet, but I can't wait to finish this review so I can jump back in and try again.

Oh, if you didn't catch on yet, this level is really hard. One incredibly tiny mistake will send you to the scoreboard, even at the very beginning. It's ball-crushingly frustrating, but you do unlock a training mode if you die. I'm not going to try the training mode because I'm stubborn and proud, but I'm guessing it's useful if you truly want to master the level.

In conclusion, The 7th Idol is an addictive and replayable survival challenge that will have you coming back for more.

Thank you so much for the review.

I cried my eyes out when I filled the thermo because... actually, the level is not complete, it's true that it lacks decorations and also a little bit of atmosphere to say the truth...

It hasn't been possible to build it how I originally designed it to be (in terms of visuals, size, variety) so I completely agree with your thoughts about it.

Again, thanks for the spare time of yours spent in playing and reviewing my level.
