Prepare to go on an most excellent adventure through time, with the History Kit.
Next Thursday, we?ll be going back in time. I suppose it's sounds that can be linked to the different ages. So maybe churchbells for the Gothic theme, clashing swords for the Romans, etc. | 2009-08-03 18:22:00 Author: Syroc Posts: 3193 |

YEAAHH!!! That's what I'm talkin about! More packs like this please, MM! This actually looks better to me than the monster pack. awww, just a gallery level? *bubble has been bursted* Next time don't get excited until Media Molecule announce a "big pack". They already explained what are small, medium and big pack. Big pack will contain everything a medium does but will also include levels. The only one so far was the MGS pack. . | 2009-08-03 20:41:00 Author: RangerZero Posts: 3901 |
I hate it, you americand get EVERYTHING cheaper. 3.99 U.S. dollars = 2.35342692 British pounds BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO | 2009-08-03 20:45:00 Author: Ninteen45 Posts: 67 |
Yes! Great pack! Love the music, and the gothic and arabic themes! Background is ok, but looks like the middle part of the MGS one and seems a little repetitive... And 140 stickers... the popit stickers section is going to be a mess.. Would be more practical if we could select the elements that we want to activate in the popit,... Hope this will not take to much space, and force us to delete other things... Anyway, I'm buying it! Can't resist | 2009-08-03 20:49:00 Author: dajdaj03 Posts: 1486 |

If I remember correctly, this and the Monster Pack are the same price. I was going to pick up the Monster Pack and Fat Princess today, but now I'm not sure if I want the Monster Pack or I should wait and get the History Pack. I like these kits coming out (Monster Kit, History Kit, etc.)! They have a lot of really cool decorations and a new background is never a bad thing. The costumes are not all that bad, either! You definately should have the monster pack over the history pack. We don't know exactly what is in the history pack yet plus it depends what you wanna create. The monsters pack was awesome but I can see the history pack being more useful for me. | 2009-08-03 22:08:00 Author: rtm223 Posts: 6497 |
did i see a hitler sticker? Right at the end? I thought that at first too, but the 'tache is too long. | 2009-08-03 22:08:00 Author: Matt 82 Posts: 1096 |
I think the monster pack looks cooler than this. It's the artstyle and colors that does it for me. I also want to add that it's time to do something with the sticker menu. To browse through them all takes too much time. I'd love to see a quick-flip through expanded sticker pages with L1 and R1. Just like it is now but with more sticker pages instead of one looooooong cat. | 2009-08-03 22:11:00 Author: BasketSnake Posts: 2391 |
The monsters pack was awesome but I can see the history pack being more useful for me. same here. for the projects i am working on, this is going to be great. i hope the music is good. (cant hear it here at work) | 2009-08-03 22:19:00 Author: Deftmute Posts: 730 |
I`m not sure if I like the music the way it is in the video, but assuming it`s adjustable I think you could do some pretty cool stuff with it. | 2009-08-03 22:24:00 Author: Matt 82 Posts: 1096 |
The music is my favourite part of the trailer. It seems to suit all the themes. | 2009-08-03 22:24:00 Author: BasketSnake Posts: 2391 |

Sounds awesome . 1 thing tho, can you make the actual game work properly first ? It never did really work online & many features like the weird 3 zero numbers for sharing etc haven't been implanted. if you haven't noticed the game is currently devolving & people's hard work becoming corrupt profile saves. my stuff is rapidly vanishing. i paid money for this game & invested more time than i should to have it go. dissatisfaction is what i'm feeling. a pack that let me not miss what others were texting i'd pay for. mics that didn't cut out, less lag ( mag has 244 players we have 4 ) grrrrr & you are thinking of the next thing to sell us ! MEND IT PLEASE !!!!!!!!!! | 2009-08-03 22:50:00 Author: J-Bear Posts: 85 |

Then fix the lag & 3 zeros. Anyway im going to rewatch the vid if i can see anything intresting, I wonder if all the stuff in the trailer is real? | 2009-08-03 22:53:00 Author: Adam9001 Posts: 744 |
Awesome! I was preparing to make a Roman/Greek themed open world level similar to RangerZero's, but it looks like it's being put off until August 13th. I can't wait for the new materials, we could really use more stone material! | 2009-08-03 23:15:00 Author: Shredator Posts: 151 |
ok, i appreciate you laughing Adam (thnx) but seriously , everyday more stuff i've worked on isn't there. sure we have all experienced it but this week its akin to swine flu. we have sack flu people! i didn't believe what people were saying until it h p p e n e d to me . we can't say happened in the game this week btw. plus, all these stickers i never use worry me that space is being taken up that i could use better. I say stop with the peripheral dirge we don't need & focus on creator packs & whilst u are messing about with psp remember us. ps3 users who love the tools u gave us but don't like your ignorance to what we ask of you | 2009-08-03 23:25:00 Author: J-Bear Posts: 85 |

Get History and Monster Pack, forget about Fat Princess. Topic: It's cool we are getting new music, but I don't think it's an interactive track. It says only Kenneth Young made it. All the other interactive tracks by him say made by Matt Clark and Kenneth young. Anyone know anything about this? | 2009-08-03 23:28:00 Author: Reef1978 Posts: 527 |

my stuff is rapidly vanishing. i paid money for this game & invested more time than i should to have it go. dissatisfaction is what i'm feeling.... seriously , everyday more stuff i've worked on isn't there. Back up your stuff. This has been a known issue with LBP for a long time. They have an are making improvements to the scenario, but it's going to take time. Also, the people that work on costumes / decorations / sounds / stickers (i.e. everything in this pack) are artists and designers primarially, not software engineers. You don't let the artists mess with your code in the same way you don't let the coder mess with your art The people making these packs woldn't be working on the bug fixes if they weren't working on these bpacks. Also, bug fixes are free. Engineers don't come cheap, so their salaries have to be paid for somehow, hence paid-for, luxury, DLC such as this. we can't say happened in the game this week btw. Always been the case, it contains a swearword, I'm not sure in what language. plus, all these stickers i never use worry me that space is being taken up that i could use better. No, game data / dlc etc and your user data are kept separately. I say stop with the peripheral dirge we don't need & focus on creator packs This is a creator pack really, it's not called one but it's all stuff for creators. Also, no one is making you buy it... whilst u are messing about with psp remember us. MM aren't working on the PSP LBP less lag ( mag has 244 players we have 4 ) grrrrr & you are thinking of the next thing to sell us ! MEND IT PLEASE !!!!!!!!!! The two aren't even comparable when you think about how much the physics engines have to synch between the PS3s. It's remarkable that online play works at all in this game. don't like your ignorance to what we ask of you You may want to get a little more info to back up your rant, before discussing ignorance We all hate how frustrating this game is, god knows how many times I've found myself swearing at it for all of it's idiosyncrasies* but consider this: it's good enough to keep you playing now, isn't it *I tell myself they are idiosyncrasies because that way it seems more endearing | 2009-08-03 23:58:00 Author: rtm223 Posts: 6497 |
Assuming the song in the trailer is the new interactive song we get, AWESOME! MM has finally answered the call of the people who wanted Ambience/Epic RPG music, this is so great | 2009-08-04 00:24:00 Author: AwesomePossum Posts: 446 |
Wow I never buy stuff from the store but this is one I am definitely interested in purchasing! Ah-maze-ing! | 2009-08-04 00:36:00 Author: GrahamLif3 Posts: 386 |
140 stickers AND 4 costumes AND music, backround, and 4 objects FOR JUST 4 BUCKS!!! some costume packs cost 5 or 6 bucks..... this is one heck of a steal | 2009-08-04 00:49:00 Author: RipTlde Posts: 151 |
Hi , thanks for telling me to back up my stuff, but i've been doing that from day 1. NOT IDEAL. corrupt data is h a p p e n i n g more frequently to more people these last two weeks ( glad u r ok for now ) . & happening has only seemed to surface recently with computer etc so check on that. You obviously missed my point on resources towards artists or technicians , it seems u wanted to . the company can only pay so many wages as you say , so pay technicians for now. Regarding saved data space. Everything is stored somewhere & our creativity is exponential & they cant store it all as we are seeing. FINALLY. you say it is remarkable that online gameplay works in this game at all, here's the thing ,IT ACTUALLY DOESN'T | 2009-08-04 00:53:00 Author: J-Bear Posts: 85 |
New sound's, New song, New background? New purchase Nice one Mm | 2009-08-04 00:54:00 Author: Mr_T-Shirt Posts: 1477 |
nice one Mm ?? i despair . when your super new level doesn't load next week i hope u have this subjective allegiance to the company and this god like 'spaff'. rofl. i don't. The company has let me down massively recently & it regardless of that you seem to want to defend the game until its dying breath. It is the best game made to date in my view. The sims can't compete. BUT IT DOESN'T WORK! hello ? anybody there ? hello ? | 2009-08-04 01:11:00 Author: J-Bear Posts: 85 |
On topic, I actually can't listen to this music yet (technical issues at home and web filters at work ), which is really bugging me. Can some one maybe describe it to me through the medium of de-doop-de-doo? Off topic, *sigh* You obviously missed my point on resources towards artists or technicians , it seems u wanted to . the company can only pay so many wages as you say , so pay technicians for now. No. You missed my point, so let me explain why this can't happen outside of imaginationland. They can't make the bug fixes paid-for dlc, because that would mean everyone would have a different build of the software. This would only cause further slowdown due to extra synchronisation, version checking etc. So if they got rid of the artistic wing and employed more technical, they would have no money to actually pay for them... In addition, they can't just stop paying the artistic wing of the company: They can't just fire the employees and making them redundant would mean that they couldn't rehire an artistic wing for the foreseeable future (I forget the time limits on this). Therefore we wouldn't get any of this type of content. Therefore there would be no DLC, LBP would produce no income, Sony would drop MM and everything would stop. The game does work. Yes it has issues, but you can work around them. If you are backing up your data, then when my level stops working I go back an hour or two, I can live with that for the "best game made to date". No one is making you play it... | 2009-08-04 01:26:00 Author: rtm223 Posts: 6497 |
Always been the case, it contains a swearword, I'm not sure in what language. pene. espanol. also, i like the fact that the music has been described as epic, ambient and rpg worthy although i would rather hear it myself | 2009-08-04 01:31:00 Author: Deftmute Posts: 730 |
Music has gregorian choir chanting, pan pipe, tribal drums and other stuff that I can`t quite explain. | 2009-08-04 01:34:00 Author: Matt 82 Posts: 1096 |
Now you are just putting words in my mouth. I never said stop paying or lay off the artistic department ( are you for real ) .They are integral, This game has been rated 10 out of 10 in most publications . I simply sugest that these ratings were working versions . it is not an enjoyable experience nearly half of the time. so much so sometimes i have to embarrassingly bid farewell to my friends because the poor performance of the game makes me physically tired & gives me a headache & makes me want to scream. i am simply saying we do not NEED another pack to buy but a game & a company we can have faith in. This should be where the company's priorities lie. | 2009-08-04 01:43:00 Author: J-Bear Posts: 85 |
Really can't wait for this, the materials and music are some of my favourites so far The new materials and music are going to be extremely useful unlike the ones we got from the Monster Pack. And are people still complaining in this thread? Mm have given us what we asked for and now some people are saying that there should more levels and stuff :/ If you want new levels that badly then make your own or play one of the 1 million that are already there It is not an enjoyable experience nearly half of the time. I am simply saying we do not NEED another pack to buy but a game & a company we can have faith in. This should be where the company's priorities lie. It's an enjoyable experience for everyone that i know. And in my opinion we already have a game and company that we can have faith in. They're working bloody hard to improve this game both by fixing bugs and adding new content! But everyone seems to complain because the bugs aren't fixed or the new content isn't added when they want them to be. Just be patient and they'll slowly perfect the game in their own time | 2009-08-04 01:43:00 Author: Dexiro Posts: 2100 |
Music has gregorian choir chanting, pan pipe, tribal drums and other stuff that I can`t quite explain. thats better than i was imagining.... i bet it sounds weird when played all together. | 2009-08-04 01:59:00 Author: Deftmute Posts: 730 |
Dexiro, seriously . Respectable professional game company's dont release stuff & see if it works EA would never even have this issue on their hands as an example. The fact we all enjoy this game whilst it is fundamentally flawed is testament to the design vision of those who concieved it. Not those who implemented it . We can forgive its many flaws for a long time and we have . But, it is going backwards from that place of playability to plain broken, a long time on may i add. i want it to work. i dont want stickers or costumes or materials or anything. Until it works . | 2009-08-04 02:14:00 Author: J-Bear Posts: 85 |
Just out of curiosity ... 1) For how many people here does the game "not work"? 2) In regards to the above question, in what relevant ways are we not a representative sample? It works fine for me and everyone I know. And on another note ... I'm really looking forward to this pack! =) | 2009-08-04 02:20:00 Author: Jagrevi Posts: 1154 |
lol . 1 you know most on here will follow you and say it works fine for them as it is your club & i am an annoyance 2 you have answered your own question 3 i love a good objective view on a subject don't you ? | 2009-08-04 02:28:00 Author: J-Bear Posts: 85 |

I have to say after just seeing what's in the History pack for the first time I am pleasantly surprised. It looks much better than I imagined it would and is a definite buy for me now. Thanks Mm. Where were those totem poles and teepee when I made my Sheriff Sack level. They would have been real handy. Still they should come in for part 2. | 2009-08-04 02:38:00 Author: mistervista Posts: 2210 |
@jww: Oh... ^.^ LOL!! Sorry.. I have a tendency to do stuff like that. YORE!!! Everyone yell with me.. YORE!!! ..but to get back on topic.. I think this is an awesome pack! Not so interested in the costumes, but since they come with it.. I am sure parts will be pretty handy! | 2009-08-04 02:40:00 Author: jwwphotos Posts: 11383 |
A relevant way you are not a representative sample is that you are a minority group who have a bias to this site, its members & the Mm meber who posts on it. If you wish to try and make convoluted questions to make a point then i suggest it isn't the best way of clearly communicating your point | 2009-08-04 02:40:00 Author: J-Bear Posts: 85 |
Dexiro, seriously . Respectable professional game company's dont release stuff & see if it works EA would never even have this issue on their hands as an example. You're comparing EA with Mm? EA is the largest video game producer that has 100+ people working on each game with a budget way into the millions. Mm is a small group of people that have made ONE game. See where you're going wrong now?! | 2009-08-04 02:42:00 Author: Dexiro Posts: 2100 |
A relevant way you are not a representative sample is that you are a minority group who have a bias to this site, its members & the Mm meber who posts on it. If you wish to try and make convoluted questions to make a point then i suggest it isn't the best way of clearly communicating your point While I agree that we probably aren't representative, I'd argue your second, hesitated reply here is more convoluted than my 2 questions. So again, while I agree we probably are not representative... 1) While we are "minor", please define along what lines we are a "minority" other than we are "here" and small in number. 2) You're claiming there is a bias towards this "site, it's members, and the 'Mm me(m)ber' who posts on it". Can I assume what you're trying to say here is simply that by being here we are more "pro-LBP" than normal? Or are you saying that we're simply disagreeing with you out of "pack mentality"? While the first one may be arguably true, I'd say that the second one doesn't seem likely. You are no less a forum member than Dexiro. | 2009-08-04 02:46:00 Author: Jagrevi Posts: 1154 |
Yes, thank you for stating that so clearly. They only have 1 game to focus on & make it work . you are right | 2009-08-04 02:49:00 Author: J-Bear Posts: 85 |
Also, I'd add if you're finding it hard to find that "convoluted point" I'm trying to imply behind my questions, it's because I don't have one. I ask a question because I want an answer and don't have it. I'm in no way trying to be adversarial. | 2009-08-04 02:57:00 Author: Jagrevi Posts: 1154 |
Hey guys, this thread is to discuss the History pack. There are other threads to put the world to rights. can you get back on track please. | 2009-08-04 03:00:00 Author: mistervista Posts: 2210 |
The History pack looks cool! But I wish we had a new level pack instead ...Who else is looking forward to Mozart's Powered Wig? I wonder if it's like a power up or something... | 2009-08-04 03:13:00 Author: Sunrise_Moon Posts: 469 |
i agree more level packs are needed....i hope the next BIG pack is the FFVII pack....and it better be more crazier then the MGS pack since it's taking so long to be released | 2009-08-04 03:15:00 Author: Shadowcrazy Posts: 3365 |
i agree more level packs are needed....i hope the next BIG pack is the FFVII pack....and it better be more crazier then the MGS pack since it's taking so long to be released I have no idea how they could fit so big a game in a 6 or 7 level pack... | 2009-08-04 03:16:00 Author: Sunrise_Moon Posts: 469 |
ok, you are being more convoluted than me here. You are now agreeing that you are not representative after posing the question yourself but make no admission as to why you are not after posing the question yourself . You choose instead to simply ask the question again : ( 1. Along what lines you are is comparative to the hundreds of thousands that play lbp & know nothing of this site 2 see point 1 And yes you cane safely assume you are more 'pro lbp' than normal obviously .it's a lbp website . ?? no brainer And i would not claim there is a 'pack mentality ' as i do not know the pack but to claim ignorance on what i said in my 'unofficial statement ' is quite dismissive of the facts . | 2009-08-04 03:18:00 Author: J-Bear Posts: 85 |
J-Bear i think your arguement so far has been very narrow minded. You're really over-estimating what Mm are capable of (evidently you compared them to EA). You're just one of a majority that have very unrealistic expectations of game developers. They're only human, and this particular developer has a very low budget. You'd be suprised how much hard work they're putting into this game even though it's almost a year since it was released. With such a small team of people and such an ambitious game on their hands you can't of expected the game to of been perfect from day one. Just be patient and wait for them to improve the game in their own time. | 2009-08-04 03:39:00 Author: Dexiro Posts: 2100 |
Who else is looking forward to Mozart's Powered Wig? I wonder if it's like a power up or something... What would this power up do? Give you the ability to create your own in-game music. | 2009-08-04 03:42:00 Author: BSprague Posts: 2325 |

Anyway, time out on this intellectual nonsense . Spaff's post was titled something like ' history in the making'. I'd sugest history was made this week in terms of lbp. The hundred layer glitch which despite your feelings on it is massive potential to creators . The controversy and confusion surrounding it ( Mm should know whats happening on page 1, i was extremely let down ) The star ratings vanishing ( where are Mm yet again to explain ? ) LBP_level_Critic . ???? looool A massive increase in people's saved data becoming corrupt . And the rest, but i will hold Mm responsible as that is how i see it. Their planet, they should stop worldwide confusion before it starts. Believe me, they had a week to do so ahh well | 2009-08-04 03:53:00 Author: J-Bear Posts: 85 |
J-Bear, seriously... I understand where you're coming from (I think many of us do), and on some points I even agree with you. But please pick up your soap box and find another corner. This thread is for the discussion of the new DLC release. For some of us less jaded and disgruntled fans, this is a major part of what makes this game fantastic. I mean, really man... are you this much fun at every party!? EDIT: And on topic... I'm seriously bummed out that I am going to be out of town when this is released. I'll be late to the party! | 2009-08-04 03:57:00 Author: v0rtex Posts: 1878 |

Yay Rust you're back! Anywho, consider the pack bought. I've only bought one pack so far, and that is the Monster's pack (minus the costumes). I love these medium packs because a) They're cheap b) They provide a wider variety of stuff to work with c) They costumes are separated from the rest of the stuff in case, like me, you don't really want to buy costumes Awesome stuff MM! Can't wait for the release. But really now, huge missed opportunity with the mozart costume. Why couldn't they make it so that waving your arms with the mozart costume produced music from some of his pieces? Really, though, this looks awesome - music sounds great, materials look great, background looks great (didn't get MGS so don't know about similarities), and I always love more decorations to decorate my pod and sackboy with (new decorations are like new costumes to me ) | 2009-08-04 04:53:00 Author: hilightnotes Posts: 1230 |
For the glory of Rome we have the Pantheon!!! (another background that is really cool but actually no one wanted ) Besides that, really cool stuff, I'm really excited and I like the new song A LOT. The prices are slower, thanks God. Absolutely instabuy, since I saw something that could really help my under construction level. | 2009-08-04 08:23:00 Author: OmegaSlayer Posts: 5112 |

J-Bear, seriously... I understand where you're coming from (I think many of us do), and on some points I even agree with you. But please pick up your soap box and find another corner. Is there a bug corner on LBPC? I'm afraid i've to agree with J-Bear on many points, but it seems like there isn't a dedicated place to discuss stuff like that. Seriously, this game has some pretty serious bugs and no-one seems to mention/notice them, it's like we learn to live with it and don't bother misty. | 2009-08-04 11:18:00 Author: Mother-Misty Posts: 574 |

Music has gregorian choir chanting, pan pipe, tribal drums and other stuff that I can`t quite explain. That sounds awesome, mad fusion of different styles - exactly what makes the int music of this game so good. Can't wait to get my hands on that @mother-misty: I don't think we do, but there is a place where you can suggest such a thing I have no idea how they could fit so big a game [FFVII] in a 6 or 7 level pack... 0iz! Who's excited? I can't wait to hear the music and to get the decorations. Yup.. the music and sounds are what I am most interested in... though the materials sound pretty cool as well. I tend not to use many materials (like 5 or 6) for obvious reasons, some of those could be cool rather than having to do some custom 'stickering' if the theme of the level fit well with those. Definitely a "must buy" | 2009-08-13 16:28:00 Author: jwwphotos Posts: 11383 |
