Need MAJOR layer help!
Archive: 11 posts
Sup guys, here's my predicament: The level I'm designing revolves around a complex mechanism that is 100% complete and functional, MINUS one major component... I need to make a wall that is PERFECTLY transparent (i.e. NOT glass, it adds fuzziness), and it needs to be 1 layer thick (full single layer, not thin layer) Does anyone know how to do this, a single layer invisible wall is absolutely ESSENTIAL for this level, otherwise it will never work... | 2009-08-03 00:36:00 Author: Aurongel Posts: 221 |
Get dark matter, make it EXTREMELY small, then draw with it. =) | 2009-08-03 00:43:00 Author: DanC Posts: 433 |
Get dark matter, make it EXTREMELY small, then draw with it. =) Know that trick, dark matter WILL NOT WORK the mechanism needs to move, and dark matter locks it in place | 2009-08-03 00:44:00 Author: Aurongel Posts: 221 |
Lots of invisible lines of thin layer dark matter will work, copy them one on top of the other and the player won't be able to get through. | 2009-08-03 00:49:00 Author: S-A-S--G-U-N-R Posts: 1606 |

Does thin rubber have the same effect as thin dark matter? | 2009-08-03 00:52:00 Author: Aurongel Posts: 221 |
Oh right, just read it has to be 1 whole layer. Rubber will work fine, any material will if you make a long piece and shrink it down. | 2009-08-03 00:54:00 Author: S-A-S--G-U-N-R Posts: 1606 |

Why not make invisible DM in the thick layer? I don't get why that won't work. If you can use rubber, you can use DM... Then, you wouldn't have to worry about attaching it to anything. | 2009-08-03 01:20:00 Author: comphermc Posts: 5338 |

He has said twice that the whole piece needs to move. I don't know his exact situation and thus cannot offer any workarounds, but as of now he specifically needs a moving, invisible thin layer object. | 2009-08-03 02:08:00 Author: BSprague Posts: 2325 |
I think the confusion, then, comes from the fact that he said he needed an invisible wall. Walls generally don't move, so I assumed that this wall was in front of whatever is moving. | 2009-08-03 02:31:00 Author: comphermc Posts: 5338 |
This: https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=t=11827 You should be able to use this to make your layer provided it hasn't been patched. | 2009-08-03 07:38:00 Author: Burnvictim42 Posts: 3322 |
