Roll out the red carpet and play the trumpets! A LittleBigKing finally joins!

Archive: 18 posts

Greeting little sackboys and sackgirls! I am JKthree! What? never heard of me? well go figure. True while i may have been a winner of the LittleBig Hot Shots Golf competition and my popularity has been on the rise. But with so many familiar faces of my all time favorite levels on here. its no surprise you guys don't know about me, and i'll bet there's no way i can compete with such genius as them. I may be good but i ain't THAT good!

Though i do feel saddened by the many ridicules of my winning entry cause of the main fact i wanted my level to be just like the sport, in which it takes some practice before you start getting good. and many just take a few shots, have a fit and leave (many times i watched that happen during the judging period)

I basically wound up wandering the internet so to speak moving from 1 LBP fansite to the next and most of the dying or are dead. R.I.P Sackbook and Planetoid Till i see LittleBigCentral signs scattered across some levels i liked, even from a friend of mine's (LuckyShot). And here i am!

I see so many features and things, its gonna take a long time for me to get used to, especially cause of the fact the only forum/board i have ever been on has been Gamefaqs.

I know there are many more good levels out there just waiting for me to try, and i know in my heart this will help a ton. I stream on Justin.tv and i mainly brodcast LBP and i might make a thread about that in the future, (for those already interested http://www.justin.tv/jkthree/archive ) and i do little reviews while i play they aren't great and sometimes my mood greatly affects the rating, I still feel i gave my old friend LuckyShot a little low on his levels. I used to make some impressive costumes but due to my "half-corrupted" file i might not make anymore for awhile (once i explore this place a bit more, i might upload them here if i can)

tl:dr version ( cause i know i overtyped here ) I say to you.....

You were one of the winners? Sigh...
*holds back urge to rant*
I entered too, with a clubhouse though, *don't rant don't rant*.
I'll have to play your entry. You seem like a nice guy, a lot nicer than some of those idiots on LBW anyway. *shut up shut up*
Welcome! Just ignore me, I'm still annoyed at the whole 'judging failure' fiasco, so...yeah. *goes to play your level*

EDIT: I played it, and I can safely say that yours is one of the more deserving winners, shall we say. I failed though...double bogey

So I guess I like you! Yay!
Although I cannot be held responsible for my actions if that potormon guy ever shows his face here...

Hi JKthree, and welcome to LBPC.

It is never possible to overtype here...just impossible to ensure everyone reads every word.

Personally I love golf...and you're correct about the practice aspect of it. But sadly, we live in a time which I refer to as "The Instant Era", where the desire for instant satisfaction (actually...instant everything) has become the norm. If something requires real effort, it's "too easy" to replace that activity with something that is "too easy". Fort this reason, I think most good challenging levels are destined to be rated 3-Stars by the LBP masses.

I'll add your level to my list of Levels To Play.

See you around and have fun here.

Rick

Greetings and welcome!

You might be interested in putting your levels in the level showcase and check out our F4F (feedback for feedback) system. Great way to get others to take a look at your levels if they haven't had the pleasure as well as getting their thoughts and perspectives.

Hope you have fun!

I don't know if i'm going to do the F4F. cause of one little thing, I guess you can say its my "religion".

When i do a level i have a set goal i aim for. If you take my golf level (that i have now been improving on) I'm trying to aim so i can fit 9 holes on that level (that way i can have it 9-OUT while the next level has the 9 IN Holes making it a full golf course)

but making it look good could take that last bit of memory i need, so i forget making it look good and focus on it playing good (I only added those bits of scenery for hole 1 cause of the contest) then once i hit my goal then i'll use whatever memory is left to make it look good as best as i can. Of course some of my levels don't even need to look good like my information levels or even my colleseum (why look at the scenery when you're rival is trying to kill you?!)

So my other levels are always improving always being republished, well at least thats not a bad thing cause it adds "this level was republished" pushing any annoying spammers comments away *cough*russlemuscles*cough*, so i don't think its such a good idea for me to try a F4F unless i have a level thats 100% complete. and that may take awhile O_o

But oh yeah I'm gonna like it here, that level showcase and already i got more replies on this than i have anywhere else when i tried advertising a level!

Yo, Waaasaap, Kingee baybayyyyy!

*does a flourished bow combined with 'peace out' stacking*

Actually, I think the best time to use F4F is before your level is finished. keeps you from haveing to double edit somthing.

but that might just be me. I don't know.
