Weird glitch?

Archive: 8 posts

I was making a complicated level that was taking a ton of time... Then i just changed the material of a object i made, and then i couldnt select the object anymore, and whatever i put on it, it would go right through it. If i drew a box and layed it ontop of it, it would just go right through, i couldnt add anything to it either, just weird.... I unfortuantely had to delete it, so i started creating it again, this time the sound effects, like the (animal, transportation, enviroment, etc) wasnt working. Only some sounds worked and some didnt, then someproblem occured and i had to clean out my pod, then i looked to change my costume and they were all disappeared! I clicked on it and a red exclamation point came out! What is happening?2009-08-02 07:26:00

that deals with your first problem... no known solution, sorry D:

As to your switches, are you doing anything, or are they just being deleted? I don't know if its the second case besides perhaps you rewound to before you placed them.

For the first issue, you've got the "ghost" glitch. I got it the other day, but a rewind sorted it out. This glitch seems to be getting increasingly more common, but then LBP seems more unstable now than ever before. Possibly something to do with the coding for the online creation beta, but who knows?

Were you using the corner editor on the scenery/object that had the switches attached? Sometimes this can make them disappear. It's happened to me a few times.

As for your sound problem and vanishing costume problem, I just don't know.

I was making a bomb, inside the bomb a pistion moved a magnetic key switch closer and closer to the magnetic key. Once i put a black sticker on it with a caution sign, i waited for the bomb to explode and nothing happened.... So i opened it up and the magnetic switch was missing.... I cant believe this happened, I was about to publish it in like 1 minute! I was doing a final exam and the levelwas unselectable, I only had like 25-30% of thermometer. I'll try to make the level again if the sound effects start working...

The bad part to that is........ I saved the level in the ghost form, becuase I didnt even know. Once i tried to add somethingto it it just didnt work... I wasn't using corner editor on the object either... The sound glitch is starting to bug me, only the chimp 1 and chimp 2 sounds work.....

I went to a different crater and the sound works fine! I named that crater the cursed spot and put a caution sign on it lol2009-08-02 14:49:00

Welcome to the forums, glad you got it sorted out.

If you need to make a post but the last post was made by you, you can edit your previous comment so that you don't double (or triple) post. To do this, just click the edit button on the lower-right of your last entry, and it will bring up an editable text box.

I only mention this because it's a general rule-of-thumb to avoid double-posting if at all possible. Have a nice day .
