what was your last seen movie?

You really saw Inception twice? I thought it was great but not really worth two ticket prices.. I thought it was relatively straightforward, actually. If you take its bizarro universe rules for what they are.2010-08-13 21:53:00

Inception; probably the best movie I've seen in theatres in a while (not that that's really saying much mind you, but it was still good). Saw it with my family, whom had a hard time understanding everything 2010-08-15 03:02:00

Finally saw New Moon. Hoooly GOD. I realized how best to view this series: watch it as if it were written by a 5 year old. You're quite proud of what the little tyke accomplished, and although you feel kind of guilty for being mean to a wee child, you still can't help but ridicule how unbelievably stupid the entire story is.

And, for the record, Team Jacob.

Highlight was when Bella decides to go out to see the new hit action movie "FacePunch". You get to see the movie poster at one point - it looks like a ripoff of The Fast and the Furious. The tagline is "Let's Do This."

The other highlight was any scene where the characters pretend that Edward is actually 110 years old and expect us to believe it. Tooooo funny.

eclipse is actually better, fyi. if maybe just a bit.

I saw Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, very fun... all of my friends loved it but I thought it was just okay I guess. Michael Cera really got on my nerves at times, and at others he was actually enjoyable. I wasn't able to believe he was actually 22 but I guess man-children just give that vibe.

I do recommend seeing it though, it was very entertaining.

Reminds me of another film I watched recently:
Run *****! Run!

It's an exploitation of the highest order and fully embraces that fact. Whores, catholic school girls, drugs, guns, it's got everything. I found it entertaining - unfortunately the womyn in the room couldn't deal with a hooker doing unspeakable things with a plunger so we had to stop the movie .

It has a fantastic soundtrack! I was very surprised.

The last one I saw was in fact "Saw 1" it was a good film with a great plot. Unlike 3 and 4 (which I have also seen) it isn't as focussed on the traps of saw, but it put the movies into place . 8/102010-08-20 01:05:00

Right... But... that one kind of had its day and this one has been ongoing for some time - nobody was confused by which thread to post in. By necroposting the old one, you've now confused the boards by suddenly introducing the old one into the mix like it's some kind of contest. Now a mod will either have to merge them or lock one. Sooo... Thanks mods in advance, for the extra effort you get to put in.

Well, I'll be, I did (almost, sorta) say that...

Also, regarding movie threads: No single movie thread has ever really stood the test of time, so I wouldn't worry about posting threads that have been done similarly before. This one may have a short life, and then in a couple of months, one of us movie buffs will notice that the subject of movies isn't being represented here, so we'll do it up again. It's the circle. The circle of life.

Now your thread has grown into a large, bulbous meaty monster with a life of its own, devouring all in its path. You must be so proud!

I have summoned a beast that should never see the light of day! I'm in tears.

Speaking of - Troll 2. Monumental. I don't know what else to say about it. The sex scene with the corn on the cob and then popcorn everywhere gave me a lot to think about.

I don't know if there's any way to spoil that movie, my friend & I guessed the ending when we saw the trailer, I mean it takes a slight turn at the very end there but the main gist of the plot felt very obvious to us. I was really hoping that my theory wouldn't be confirmed while I was watching it, but alas....
I wonder if its the trailer's fault, like did it give too much away & would I have had a different experience if I'd never seen it. That's why I usually prefer not knowing anything about a movie before watching it.

I took the kids to see it for the first time yesterday too and I couldn't help crying at the end. Good job it's dark in cinemas, lol! My daughter claims she didn't cry. It was just the 3D glasses making her eyes water, apparently!

I saw scott pilgrim vs the world yesterday and it was good I read the comic and it is incredible I wound suggest people to read it

In the movie they had to change alot of parts even some of the best ones but still it was really good. Also they mix some parts with other character.

PS: In the movie they say scott is 22 years old in the comic he is 23 and he turn 24 on September lol

Scott Pilgrim last night. It was kind of a fun movie, but tiring that every minute of it, from beginning to end, for 2 hours, is all about dating melodrama. Adventures and misadventures in early-20s dating. So... to me, just incredibly pointless when all is said and done. This is a very unusual situation, but I quite like the videogame more than the movie in this case.2010-08-22 21:08:00

Brilliant film. The action scenes were among the best I have ever seen!
And the slow parts weren't too boring either.

Also: I thought toy story 3 was a bit dull, It would have been better if...
they all died in the fire, eyes popping out and such. I really laughed the whole way through, especially at the sad bits because they are TOYS! TOYS BEING SAD! How hilarious

Awesome movie from awesome director (JSA, Sympathy for Mr Vengeance, Lady Vengeance, I am a cyborg...). I saw it 3 or 4 times and found it better at each watching...
And what an incredible soundtrack!!!

Today, i will watch "Thirst" from the same director.

Just watched Letters to God.

It was a true story about a 11 year old who got a brain tumor.

The whole thing was touching and made me cry at the end because the boy dies, but what he did with the community was incredible.
He got his whole school to write letters to God and when he kept asking for his mom to find someone else to love, she did.
It was just a memorable movie for me, even though it didn't make it to theaters.
---
The last movie I saw in theaters, was Grownups.
The movie was a little cheesy and a bit too sexual, but it had a great plot and I enjoyed watching my favorite comedians on the big screen. XD

Increadible movie, one more time, even if less powerful than Old Boy.
Nevertheless, a wonderful and very butiful story about a priest that become a vampire. And a complex love story...
Captivated from the start to the end...And a crazy camera...as PCW love them

I was a big fan of Gran Turino, and Harry Brown is pretty much a darker version of that, so I loved it Unlike Gran Turino though, the gangsters actually scared me a bit, and seemed more like they would kill you, unlike the Gran Turino gangsters who made me laugh at times.

I watched the Film "The Expendables " in the last week..The story sounds very interesting & cinematography is cool and pleasant.... Overall I give this movie 5/5 stars. The best action, violence, madness, you can take in a movie, and multiply it by hundreds and there The Expendables. Explosions, gunfire, blood, fist fights, no sex get in the way of anything, this film is what it should do right, and it gives excitement it promised.2010-09-06 08:42:00

I thought they all did good, Tine Fey was great in it and so was the little jonas and betty white was a bonus But anyway, not as good as his others like Spirited Away or Princess Mononoke but still fun Wow, I saw that last night too, its on Starz On Demand & I watched it while doing some paperwork. Like you said, it was ok but not in the same league as Princess Mononoke.2010-09-08 06:26:00

I have to agree with you on that one. I went to see it with my mom, and it was kinda hard to stare at some points of the movie. XD If you know what I mean....

How so? It looked good.

Some movies may look good, but they turn out horrible. Don't see it unless you really want to throw up when you leave.

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time.

As far as videogame movie adaptations go, this actually turned out a lot better then I thought it would. I'm not really a fan of the games but I know they took some liberties with the plot from the games though it doesn't suffer too bad from this. Though Gemma Arterton's very British accent while playing the role of a Middle-Eastern princess really bothers me for some reason.

The Last Airbender.

Yup, M. Night Shyamalan did it again.

He made everyone Indian.

Not that I'm racist, but they're meant to be Asian. I can't see how you can make that mistake.
He also made the ruler of the Indians a New Zealander who looks like a Mexican.

Wow.

I saw Scott Pilgrim yesterday (I think it was yesterday). For some reason I didn't like it too much, and have no idea what all the hype was about. To me, it was pretty repetitive, and I got quite bored. Also, for some reason, the actor who plays Scott Pilgrim really annoys me - and he has done in every one of his movies. I liked the kind of comic book style effects when things happen in the film though - like the ringing of a phone.2011-01-17 01:31:00

The most recent films I've watched :

The A-Team - 9/10 - Much better than I was expecting it to be, probably due to the fact they had some top notch actors in it. Sure it's just a generic action film, but if that's what you like, and I do, then it does it pretty darn well. Great fun.

The Expendables - 9/10 - The above comment applies equally to this.

Bad Lieutenant, Port of call New Orleans - 6/10 - I was a bit disappointed with this, especially as Nicolas Cage was in it and it had some decent reviews. It basically was what the title said, A bad cop in New Orleans who got gradually worse throughout the film. He was a really sick individual who I ended up hating. Definitely not a feel-good movie.

War of The Worlds 2 - 0/10 - Yes that's right 0. I didn't even know until I saw this advertised that there had been a WOTW 2 and after watching it I can see why. It has to be one of the worst films I've ever seen in my life (The absolute worst one ever being a crappy french film called Hidden) with the most diabolical actors you'll ever have the misfortune to see. How the people in this film even got employed as actors is a mystery to me. I could have done better myself. Do yourself a favour. If you've never seen this don't bother. You'll get more pleasure out of poking yourself in the eye with a sharp stick for an hour and a half than watching this pile of turd. That goes for "Hidden" too.

On DVD: Die Hard
Because It's Die Hard. One of my favorite old action films. I give it Yippie-kayay out of 10.

On theaters: Black Swan
Now this is hard one. I liked the cast, but Natalie Portman's acting got my attention, totally worth trophy.
Plot was acceptable and twisted crazy stuff what Natalie's character sees made me little go "woah". Not big time "woah".
The true stuff happened after half of the movie, so beggining of the movie didn't appeal me much. I give it 6 out of 10.

I've been trying to add that to my LOVEFiLM rental list but that's yet another of many on there that is down as being "unavailable for rental". Why do they bother putting titles on there and telling you all about the film, and then won't let you rent it? It's a DVD rental site for god's sake!

Point is that I'm a huge Sneyder fan but this movie seems total garbage to me, so I'm really curious but I'm at an age where the chick/hottie trick is almost not effective to me
First time I tried to see the trailer I had to stop before it reached the first minute because I was on the verge of puking.
Then I forced myself to see it all and I concluded that the film is a mess of thing like I mentioned above.

@ OmegaSlayer: I don't think I'll ever reach that age that hot chicks don't work on me.
Babydoll used Midriff! It's Super Effective!!

I also saw Rio.
From the Ice Age studio, Blue Sky.
It was ok. Animation was nice, but story lacked (like most movies).
Jermaine (from Flight of the Conchords) as the bad guy was the highlight for me.

Also watched... MACHETE!
Deserves to be in capital letters.
That movie is a bunch of fun!
Watch that one.

The last film I watched was Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1219342/).

& I have to say I enjoyed it immensely, despite the overly used movie tropes.
It reminded me of a modern day Secrets of Nimh (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0084649/), or The Dark Crystal (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0083791/)... could be one of the best CGI films I've ever seen

Recently watched Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1.

After seeing the other HP films, this one seemed more trailer than anything. More like a build up to the final part of the film series, which is good because now i know the ending is going to be brutal and epic. Also, since i havn't read the books because words are boring, lol.. I don't know what happens, which makes it more exciting for me also XD

At the cinema: Paul (Pretty funny but not as gory as the main Pegg/Frost, Blood and Icecream stuff...)

On DVD/Bluray: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 (Actually quite decent, but the darkness sort of takes away the magic of well... the magic) :/

On TV: Top Gun (Good movie, weirdly I've never seen it before.)

I just watched "Enough" on television. It has Jennifer Lopez in it, in my opinion it was a good movie, and it has a lot of feeling.2011-04-25 23:59:00

I just saw 2001: A Space Odyssey for the first time. Needless to say it was one of the best films I have ever seen.

*Shakes head* That movie was horrible! So many misinterpreted analogies and a confusing plotline. Not to mention how boring it is.

Last movie I saw was Crash, it won Best picture for 2005 so I thought I might as well watch it. Pretty much the saddest movie ever.

Yeah, I never cared for that film either.
If you're going to watch a Stanley Kubrick film make it Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0057012/) - it's one of the funniest movies of all time.

I saw tangled on Blu-Ray Last night, but the last movie I saw in theaters was Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules

That movie was very funny and it had a very good moral. I suggest anyone to go see it.

Hunger,
I didn't watch much, all I remember is it seemed like a bit of a Saw knockoff.

Thor was the last movie I saw last time. Nice for young children who like things in 3D and all the action and the best for their parents who were raised in this matter. The cast is strong with a strong character actors, even those with less important roles.2011-05-16 08:31:00

Just saw Thor myself, but not the 3D version. Overall pretty good, not the best Marvel comicbook movie adaptation (Iron Man still holds that title in my opinion) but far from the worst. The actors are well-cast with a good dose of humor although the plot does suffer from what feels like an overly long prologue and a bit excessive (or perhaps not excessive enough for OTT-ness) bombasicity and flash but it does throw in a nice variation of the tired old "evil prince usurps the throne" twist.2011-05-22 03:16:00

Ironically, I also saw Thor. Got the worst 3D glasses known to man, but hey, a good movie is still a good movie.

Now to see Pirates of the Caribbean tomorrow...
