While I find in-game advertisements rather intolerable, LBPCentral really does seem to have some of the worst. Promotion is one thing, yet encountering a sign 3-5 times in one level is beyond tedious.2009-07-30 08:27:00

There are no restrictions. Feel free to put our sticker in your levels whenever/however you'd like.

Haha, I guess that's what happens when you let anyone advertise for you. We really don't work to make sure our site is being advertised - we just offer a LBPCentral sticker and logo so that those who want to, can. It's all voluntary, so if you're going to point fingers, blame those who saturate their levels with it, not LBPCentral itself. Personally, if I do put our logo in one of my levels, it's usually at the very beginning or end, and there's usually only one.

I'm putting together my first level, and still I have to decide if I will put the LBPC sticker or not.
Actually I absolutely want to put it in, still I have to find a non invasive way to do it, and I don't want to abuse thermo to do it.
Maybe I will stick it on the scoreboard.

Still, can someone explain to me what standered mean?

Pretty sure he meant standard.

Feel free to put the LBPC logo sticker, but don't let it pop up every 5 seconds, either put it at the beginning or at the end with the scoreboard.

Yarbonne have done a great scoreboard with the logo inside (it is a glitch but the scoreboard is fully fonctionning) that you can earn (with a lot of other things) in the LBPcentral Logo level i published on my moon. If you are interested take a look to this thread (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=t=13833)

I made one decent level (it got spotlighted ) but I had nothing about this awesome little site because I felt that it wasn't good enough to deserve a logo.
Its personal choice though really, I don't mind seeing it in a level - unless its a H4H level

I did HIDE a logo in all of my levels just for fun.

I don't like it when it's intrusive or visible outside the leaderboard zone.

I think Icemaiden did it rather nicely. She opted to do a custom "LBPCentral" which stuck to the thematic of her level. Thus it advertised the site without becoming an EA-like advertisement.2009-07-30 16:48:00

I just put it at the end. Players are usually more focused on the scoreboard at that point so I figure the intrusion is minimal. If it's in a level half a dozen times that would be a little pushy but just once in an intro or ending imo is tasteful and shouldn't offend people.2009-07-30 18:00:00

I like to stick it somewhere semi-hidden, or in a 'blink and you`ll miss it' situation so it`s more like an Easter egg for LBPC members rather than an advert for the site.2009-07-30 18:15:00

I'm thinking of taking Takelow's LBPC object and making it into a vehicle you drive all the way through the level... and the roads you're driving on will be paved with LBPC stickers.2009-07-30 18:16:00

When people put it around the score board it doesn't bother me at all. One level I played dropped a whole slew of floaty material with the sticker on it, far more interesting than a plain scoreboard...I was just impressed that they liked this site enough to allocate that much thermo! 2009-07-30 18:21:00

Huzzah! - someone liked my floatie stickers! At least I think it was me...

It didn't take up that much thermo anyways - I emitted one large object that was all of the floaties - also, I had like 2 bars to work with, lol.

Wow, I'd LOVE to see that level.

LBPC ad race levels aside, I really don't mind if people do put ads of this site in their levels. If they show it like 10 times then, yeah it gets tedious, but I don't mind if one is placed at the beginning or at the scoreboard.

oh yeah? well i'm going to make a "40 jumps" level and each platform will be the logo. if you fall, a smaller logo will crush/electrocute you. but if you survive the jumps, you get to play a bomb survival where the bombs are the logo.

I had the same idea when i was creating the logo. It is particularly interesting when you use 1 layer thick letters as platforms... But i am now on another project and abandoned this idea

Btw, Ccubbage, your idea is great too! A travel in the LBPc world...

Personally I don't think I'd ever put one in my level. While I do love this site very much and there is no doubt after publishing a level that this the first place I come for feedback, I just don't think I'd ever be willing or want to advertise it using my levels.

I'm not really sure why, partly because I feel it may get in the way of the experience and as others have said, be intrusive. But like it's been mentioned, it is possible to do it without it being so obvious.

It's probably just me, but it also feels like it's less of 'my' level then, and like it could be perceived as a 'community' effort and that's why I'm promoting the site.

I don't know to be honest, maybe I'm just selfish? haha

You wouldn't even put it at the end of the level, like near the scoreboard?

I don't know. I really appreciate what the site does, so I put a little plug in my levels (some more obvious than others), not to say, "Hey, come check out LBPC", but to say "LBPC is awesome"!

I dunno, maybe I do advertise too much, lol.

I joined this site after seeing the sticker in a level, so I think that when used correctly, the sticker is a great tool for LBPcentral and brings in some new members.

Personally, I've only used the sticker in one of my levels because I'm a stickler when it comes to my level's theme and I want things to seem like they belong. So, with my most recent level, I needed an advertisement on a billboard and I thought that was a perfect opportunity to use it. If a similar opportunity presents itself in future levels, I won't hesitate to use it again.

I think your opinion is very valid. You're not selfish at all. This forum doesn't own you anything. I'm also feeling quite like you do. But I found a fun solution for me.

I like this forum and i'm active. I wish it will stay around and with active people for long. We have some of the best creator of the community right here and that's what makes me stay. I help advertise the forum because I care about but I don't want it to be obvious or intrusive so what I did for fun is the hide a logo somewhere in each of my levels.
