keyboard with binary

Archive: 4 posts

ok, LBP has BINARY switches. and i have seen Little Big Calculator. so i was thinkin, could someone make a keyboard where you jump on the button and get the desired letter. like qwerty style?2009-07-30 07:02:00

yea, wouldnt be that complex. 3 planes, 3 rows of keys, each letter is an actual button, which emits the letter into the next available slot. Hardest part would probably be making it resettable/ able to delete letters, but i'm sure it could be done. I've seen "typing" levels before, not in typical keyboard format though. Problem is, they're easily modded as people can type whatever they want and upload pics... you get the picture.2009-07-30 07:16:00

In answer to the OP: Yes. It's a lot simpler than LBCalculator IMO. I wouldn't fancy doing it, because of time, but it's certainly doable.

I'm not sure 3 rows of keys would be the best way to implement though - you would have to deal with plane-shifting. Only way I see around that is to have three ballons to ensure you keep in the correct plane - would be fun, yet tedious

edit - I think someone managed to get pictures on one of Ninja's level modded, without getting the level modded.

edit 2 - I wouldn't implement this with binary. Too much hassle TBH. I'd create it more like a mechanical typewriter, with emitters for the character-hammer-things.
