Personal Stickies

Archive: 25 posts

We've added a new feature to the site which will allow you to stick any thread you want. These "personal stickies" are, as the name implies, personal - you will only see your own stickies at the top of the list. This allows you to stick threads that are important to you, but may not be important to everyone. Basically, your personal stickies will reside at the top of a forum listing (under the official stickies) and will stay there regardless of when they were last posted in. There's also a little brown pin in the thread listing to indicate that it is a personal sticky.

To stick a thread, head to any thread and just pick the "Stick this Thread" option in "Thread Tools". To unstick a stuck thread, follow the same steps but look for a new "Unstick this Thread" option.

With the tons of options this brings you, it also means that dead threads will be "reawakened" more frequently. We will work to make sure we're being fair, but we also will not hesitate to lock a thread if it is needlessly "reawakened". Please keep that in mind.

Enjoy!

Sounds great :kz: Yeah, thanks, others may find use for this =D

... Although... remember to do this at MNRC too... D:

Wait, MNRC is 3.8, this addition is 3.7 and couldn't find a 3.8 one... so maybe nevermind...?

Yeah, sadly, we can't add this feature at MNRCentral just yet. I'll play around with the code and see if I can get it to work, but it could end up breaking something instead of doing what it's supposed to.

Awesome! I used to do this on LBW a lot but I didn't know if it was necessary since we can subscribe to threads so I never suggested it. I like it though, thanks!2009-07-30 01:20:00

This is great, but is there a way to search ALL Personal Stickies??? Regardless of the section the thread is in. This makes it much handier to use imo. Its like creating a to-do list

You could put it under the "All Threads Started by "user" in profile statistics. If its too tricky/messy don't bother, you've done a great job already CC.

Was this an add-on from vBulletin? It's quite a nice feature.

If so can you hook me up with a link to it?

Oh you guys are using version 3.7.

They don't have that version for 3.8 (what I would need it on).

Thanks anyway man.

It should work just fine on 3.8. Try it and see - usually addons work across 3.7 and 3.8.
