How to make Real Fire in Little Big Planet?

Archive: 5 posts

Do you know that if you use your popit selector, go to a candle flame, and press L3, you can duplicate that flame and put it on stuff? Sounds cool right? But some people have been able to make flame balls, (balls made of this realistic fire) that actually burns and looks extremely cool. I was wondering...

If anyone knows how to do this? I have tried it on my own, but it never works quite right... Any ideas? Here are some of my tried and failed techniques:

-Make a ball of sponge, post candle flames all the way around. Very bright, doesn't burn.
-Lighting that same "ball of sponge" on fire. Doesn't burn.

AAAAAHHHELP!!
-Thanks!

Is it perhaps the lava material you're thinking about? Could you give us an example, i'm not sure i've seen one of these great balls of fire before.2009-07-29 20:36:00

I believe they achieve the effect by attaching several of the candle flames to a piece of floaty material. Turning the pink floaty into fire with the fire tool then completes the illusion. It sounds like you were the right track, but the key is to emit them in very small intervals so it looks like a flowing fire object.2009-07-30 01:19:00
