Awesome! I will be playing this as soon as I can. You should add some screenshots to the thread though just in case anyone hasn't played your other level.2009-07-28 06:38:00

Since I think I'm the laziest creator in this community and I can't manage to finish even my first level, can I rise to the spot of official executioner and punisher of great creators that doesn't sweat enough?2009-07-28 09:47:00

So, it seems that I'm the first (in this thread) who actually played the level.

I really liked how you have managed to stay close to the theme, and your ship graveyard is really something; it reminded me of some section of ship graveyards I played in rpg long time ago (it was a ff or a breath of fire... I can't remember); and this is a good thing, really.

Sometimes the paintinator doesn't fit with the platforms challenges offered, but, I think you placed it anyway in a good way; nothing that I never saw yet or really outstanding BUT it serves well its purpose, so, I don't consider it a real issue but, trust me, it felt someway odd to have a paintinator equipped while crossing the shipwreck... I know that pirates had firepower but... well... nevermind.

A thing that I really liked (nothing special but I really liked it) is the floating little boat with the hanging rope ladder; that was a fine touch in blending enviroment and gameplay needs.

In certain spots (like the arrival at the shipwreck), you can fall behind the clouds; it makes sense to me only three steps later in the level but at the very first two deadends (to the left of the bridge and to the right of the shipwreck) you might insert invisible walls instead of let the player fall to death.
Not a big issue, really, but it would be nice.

Aesthetically is really well designed and gives a great feeling, and the platforming section are not too hard letting the player enjoy his trip trough the shipwreck.

Concerning the lenght (that worried everyone! lol); I think that is quite perfect, not too short nor too long.

Maybe add some passages in order to proceed throug the level, like switches or dragged items, you only used paintinator switches... at least you will offer something more varied (but the level isn't long enough to get the players bored of it even it is not very varied).

Overall a great enviroment and a planned design makes the experience really enjoyable... if only I had a pirate costume among mines...

I will be a critic so be ready.
Edit: you did a magnificent job dude it was much better than the introduction, it was nearly flawless.
The problem is you cant ace it .
and you you used the paintanator in the level it feels very out of place in a pirate level.
But again one of my favorite level.

You are safe for this time, i was quite satisfied with the level, and your head will stay on your neck.
4 stars...since there's something that didn't convince me completely (paintinator to open doors + sudden death + lack of ghosts in the graveyard maybe...)

Another great level! Once again, I loved the visuals and I really liked the idea of Shipwreck Cove and navigating all of the old broken down ships. The level was a bit short, but I thought it was filled with quite a bit for my Sackboy to do, definitely more than the Introduction level. If you can keep up with this pace of releasing the episodes so quickly, then I don't think the length is that bad at all.

The platforming and paintinator puzzle elements were well done, but I would have liked more auditory feedback from my actions. Instead of platforms just lowering or doors opening, I would have liked to hear them creak or crumble. It just seemed a bit odd to be in this old ship, but there were no sounds of things falling apart.

Over than that, I loved it! Great job!

I agree with most of the "critics" here. The level was aesthetically brilliant and the environment was top-notch. My only complaints were the out-of-place yet well-used Paintinator and the disuse of old creaking and cracking sounds that would be perfect for that of an old ship. Other than that, absolutely magnificent! :star::star::star::star::star: and http://i26.tinypic.com/303lhy8.png2009-07-30 01:29:00

Another great looking level! The use of the paintanator was kinda strange for me and the level was very short but I still enjoyed it. Can't wait for the third part .2009-07-30 01:39:00

I just finished playing both the introduction and "the shipwreck cove" level, and I gotta say I'm very impressed. What first stood out for me was the ship. What a beauty! Very detailed, just like a like it. I also gotta say that it has a solid gameplay while keeping you entertained with the amazing detail. From the little lamps to the ropes. I thought that palm tree with regular leaves was kinda funny.. it look good though
I was also very impressed by your use of layers. You made it feel like you were in the same place, but through different sections. Very nice when layers are part of the gameplay. The dialogue was also very well written. I liked how even the parrots talked like pirates. I guess when you hang out with them too much, it kinda sticks to you. Nice work. I can't wait for the next level. Let me know when its out.

Nothing new to add. Enjoyed the visuals - the graveyard had a "natural" level of detail - the platforming pieces felt like I was really climbing through shipwrecks, not just jumping from bit to bit.

A few crumbling planks, and maybe drag-n-climb sections, rather than paint switches, would improve the overall effect, methinks.

Played through it last night and really enjoyed it. Much nicer to have a longer experience than your opening level too.

+ Great lighting again. Nicely moonlit and slightly spooky without being dark.
+ Fantastic ship design - I'd expect nothing less based on the first level
+ Good platforming challenges
+ Layer work - a bit tricky to navigate at times but nicely done

Only problems I encountered were that the layers can auto shift the player from time to time. If your paying attention it's not a big deal but might annoy some players. The other thing I noticed is that the door you have to shoot with the paintgun (the one by the red arrow & checkpoint - sorry those were the only landmarks I could find) it's possible to jump "through" the door. Technically you can jump behind it in the plane but it looks like your jumping through.

I loved it and gave it 5 stars & hearted it! Thanks for sharing it!

Hey there. I played this a few days ago, but forgot to ever give feedback. I really liked the level, and I'm glad it was longer than the intro . The visuals were very consistent and had a nice feel to them. I only found one area that needs to be looked at:

At one point in the level it's possible to jump up-and-over the ship. I don't remember exactly where it was, but it seemed to be closer to the end of the level. I was able to jump up and to the left, and climb into an area I wasn't supposed to be.

I think I ended up giving this 5 stars and a heart.

Played it!

Pros:
- platforming is fun
- the scenery is well designed. The ships are beautiful
- the bird is cool
- the pirate looks awesome
- my ghost pirate sackboy fits well into the theme
- lightning at some points
- use of paintinator

Suggestions:
- you already had a introduction but you seriously need a prologue level that clears the story. Why is sackboy searching for the pirate? Ok, now I know but why does he want to know in the first place?

:star::star::star::star::star:, heart & beautiful

I've nothing to add but that it stayed dark forever after you meet the captain. I had to pull out use the sticker-pathfinder-trick to see where I was supposed to go. (A bit further to the right apparently.)2009-08-08 17:13:00

Just played the levels in this series, and really liked them. I thought they were visually brilliant, and I loved the ship - truly magnificent!

I would however agree with the other reviewers, and say that the paintinator seemed slightly out of place, even though I liked its use.

The other thing I would say is that I would like to see a few more obstacles. the level involves a lot of jumping, and whilst this is good, it would be nice to vary the gameplay a little. It didn't bother me too much though, and the visual aspect made up for it anyway!

Really great - well done!
