is it possible? | 2009-07-28 00:28:00 Author: SpiderPS3 Posts: 34 |
um... i guess? stickers and decorations can help make things look like they have different textures, but its also in teh shaping of the object. | 2009-07-28 00:31:00 Author: Burnvictim42 Posts: 3322 |
i've been lookin at the decorations and it doesn't have anything to make my thingy look furry. only like peacock feathers and such but thats not what im looking for... and i want it to look 3d-type furry so i dont want to use just stickers to achieve the look. any suggestions? | 2009-07-28 00:33:00 Author: SpiderPS3 Posts: 34 |
You can't really do it. The main game doesn't even use fur shading. The closer you'll see is the bear parts (doll section of object's page in your popit). But even then, you're stuck with the bear as its material isn't available for free use. . | 2009-07-28 00:39:00 Author: RangerZero Posts: 3901 |
Well I made a spider once and found the Hessian fabric looked about the best. If you have the Monster pack you could add a few of those black spidery decorations ( forgot what they're called sorry ). That might work. Apart from that we just have to keep waiting for more materials from MM I'm afraid. | 2009-07-28 00:44:00 Author: mistervista Posts: 2210 |
You cannot make furry things in LBP, unless you spam all the decorations. | 2009-07-28 01:13:00 Author: Unknown User |
Various materials can work. Depending on your lighting, stickering and various other factors. For long furred animals, decorations like the spidery stuff from the monsters pack (as mistervista says) and I tihnk the dog in story is covered in seaweed (?). For short-furred animals, remember you can create custom textures by combining materials, lighting, stickers and decorations and taking photos of that. It all comes down to exactly waht effect you are looking for, and your level of artistic skill. Best bet, as far as I'm concerned, is just to try random combinations of factors and you may well get lucky! I've even used "brown wood" material for rats, the wood grain bump mapping works pretty well IMO, though it probably helps that it is a dark scene | 2009-07-28 01:21:00 Author: rtm223 Posts: 6497 |
I think the best you can hope for is to make something spongy, and then cover it in the colour of your choice (with stickers). And yeah, (thanks Ranger0) the bear material is really the furriest thing there is, so depending what you're doing, you may simply want to rip off the bears arms or legs or duplicate them (L3), and then colour them. | 2009-07-29 15:07:00 Author: Assasinof6 Posts: 30 |
