New Default Style: Glassy

Hey all. You might have noticed a change to the default style. Meet Glassy, our new default style created to match the look of our main page.

For those who prefer the old style, you can still choose it over this one at the bottom left of the page.

Hey thanks. There might be some tweaks here and there, but I really wanted a style that matched the main part of the site. i did make the forums wider though than the main site so posts wouldn't be cramped.

I've been using it since its early days as testomatica xD seen all the stages it went through, even the wallpapers/backgrounds

Ah, good point Maltay. Why do I always forget that? LOL

For those who don't know, mods also get some early previews of things before general members.

For sure! This site is all about user choice. More skins will be added in the future as well because we know that people have their own likes and dislikes.

Can I suggest one that would be cool is a Star Wars one and really not because I am Star Wars fan but because the new game is coming out, and maybe do new ones to go with new games coming out. And I am saying like a LBP Star Wars theme and you could do ones 4 new movies or games to promote and keep them new. I understand if it would be hard to do because CC was making it sound hard but it would so go with LBP because you can really do any sackboy theme you wanted.2008-09-10 05:53:00

This wouldn't be ideal. It takes a while to create a theme number one, and number two, nobody would really want this except you and maybe a few others. This is a LBP board, not a LBP Star Wars Theme board. If they did that, they would have to cater to every other game theme people would want.		2008-09-11 04:37:00

No custom requests, guys. Themes take a while to iron out; much too long to waste time on when we're busy working on other stuff. It's kind of a trade off: do we work on a theme, or do we work on x? We've gotta make sure the most important stuff holds priority. As of now, I'm so drained mentally from all of the different things on my plate that the idea of something else to do is just too much right now. Don't get me wrong, I love helping out around here! I just don't want something extra to do that isn't necessary. If enough people want a certain theme, then maybe we'll slowly develop it, but, honestly, it's not a priority right now.2008-09-11 04:46:00

Just a suggestion.

Having a person on staff who solely makes styles is a difficult thing. They'd have to be trustworthy enough to be allowed into the admin panel(rare, because from there you could do tons of nasty things if you ever decided you wanted to) and they'd have to know how to make a theme(images, CSS code, browser compatibility, and all). Just finding someone who meets those standards would be difficult. Plus, too many styles is a bad thing, because if we change the layout of one, we have to do the same for each additional one, which multiplies the workload.		2008-09-11 05:50:00
