I published a level a while ago called "Dark and Light" The idea of the level is that everytime you die you switch between two different versions of the level. Sometimes you would have to die to progress and your actions would sometimes affect both versions. The level itself wasn't that long and I could only think of a few puzzle elements that I could put in to it. I'm remaking the level and have redesigned the mechanics. I'm having a hard time thinking up puzzles that utilize the idea of needing to switch to help you progress. I was hoping to get some ideas from everyone. Many thanks for any help.

What about the classic? You're in the Light Version, and you're stuck, you have to go to the Dark Version to do a puzzle to make a door appear in the Light Version.

Thanks Flame Dragon for the feedback So far I've come up with a few ideas like you suggested. The first part that I have made has a raised platform with a button on it. In the ground are four platforms. On the opposite version of the level these four platforms are grabbable which raises them. They also raise the platforms on the original side. The player will have to position them so that they will be able to reach the button on the other side to progress. I'm hoping to keep the two versions as similar as possible.
