I love skateboarding, and what's more, I love skateboarding games like Tony Hawk's Pro Skater and, it's competitor, Skate. I play both, and I've played both quite a lot (well, THPS I've been playing since the second one came out...). But which one do you prefer? I honestly was shocked that Skate outsold Tony Hawk's on it's first year of release because, quite honestly, I like Tony Hawk's a lot better. But hell, what do you think?

Skate is realism > fun, which doesn't make a good game. I thought Tony Hawk's was a ton better. Really unrealistic but really fun at times Some of the newer games have been a bit samey though.

wow tough choice, i play both alot, tony hawks for the combos but skate for the realism

i've been thinking of buying skate since its a nice change from tony hawk ( down hill jam for ds ) and its diffrent button layout since in everyone tony hawk game they are pretty much the same, y to grind, a/x to jump, while skate uses the analog and i found it tricky to use to pull of some trick like the manual, in the first skate demo this guy made u do a manual, do a kick flip and land in a manual and i would try so many times but it never worked. and i think skate has better trophys

Well, seeing as playing Skate forever ruins playing Tony Hawk, I would go with Skate. Once you get a feel for the controls, everything is pretty darn intuitive. I went back to an old Tony Hawk game and was just frustrated by the lack of control. Skate 2 is much better, but you can probably get the first one for pretty cheap now. I went through a phase where I only played Skate 2 and got pretty burned out on it, but it was a rockin good time while it lasted. Save your money on the DLC, though, it's not worth it. Thankfully, getting bored with skate brought me back to LBP, and here I am!

Skate for sure. I loved the early Tony Hawk games and I still enjoy playing them every now and then, but I just love the feel of Skate.

After seeing that everyone else likes Skate i feel like buying it for PS3 I've only played it for a few minutes on a broken Xbox so maybe that altered my decision a little back then.

Skate really is good and @ comphermc, i did that aswell, but playing the fun trrack online with mates is still awesome lol, out highest score is 17.187... they guy who did it has no idea how (you dont get multipliers)
