PIRATE PLANETBombw87 The Ultimate Pirate series on Little big planet all The Ultimate Pirate series on Little big planet. A three part series of pirate adventures over sea..creepy islands...underwater caves and crumbling castles! ;-) Different to all the other pirate levels on Lbp, with great looking levels...crazy action sections and HUGE bosses haha. You dont have to read pages and pages of poitless speech bubbles or bounce on repetitive enemies brains its just simple, fun action and adventure. Have fun. | 2009-07-26 19:14:00 Author: Bombw87 Posts: 126 |

go for it! part three was my best work i think in terms of gameplay fun | 2009-07-27 20:15:00 Author: Bombw87 Posts: 126 |
Played through all three tonight and they are fun. I like the style you have where there are lots of details and some over the top character designs (the pirate and the natives are really cool - if a bit funny.) I loved the lighting in level 1 the most. I did find a couple of technical things. - On level 1 there are some tiny bits of dark matter showing on one of the lift areas Do a quick run through - you can't miss it) - On level 1 you can become easily trapped beneath stalagmite in the horizontal earthquake section. If you don't want people to have to pop maybe revisit the shapes or space between these areas. You end up being tossed left and right and can't escape at all. - On part 2 the big iron door shut after I killed the monster but only when I ran to the left leaving me trapped in the room with the distant ship. Check the sensoring in that section so the door drops when you enter the fight. also you may want to make it more clear you can go in that cave when the monster is destroyed. - The staff broke while sitting on the deck of the ship while climbing up - not a big deal but thought you should know. - On part 3 If you jump forward one level while doing the bomb challenge in the tower you fall out of the tower. Maybe put a bit of invisible dark matter there so player doesn't need to keep popping. It's natural to climb down from the sponge that way and I fell three times. Might frustrate some other players. - It is possible to get stuck to the right of the Pirate right before the exploding tower and garden area. If you climb the steps there's a hole to the right. Just patch it up - minor thing. - Hard to tell what to do with the box of dynamite on the top floor of the tower. perhaps a light or a slightly tilted camera angle to show to push it right. Took me a few tries to figure this out. As a series I think they are fun and would appeal to the mainstream LBP audience very well. Pirates are always fun and the ones in your level are memorable and cute. I rated Part 1 5 stars, Part 2 4 stars and Part 3 5 stars. I also hearted them and you as a creator - very cute style you have. I hope they get more plays as I really liked them. Thanks for sharing them. | 2009-07-28 04:30:00 Author: Morgana25 Posts: 5983 |

Level 1 The first checkpoint after the boat trip didn't work...I had to restart the level...is it a glitched checkpoint? At the first puzzle, with the 3 rotating wheels, if the circle (switch) brokes, you have to restart the level | 2009-07-30 20:14:00 Author: OmegaSlayer Posts: 5112 |
I put on my pirate costume, and played your levels! They are just great! Everything is well put together, nice design and some pretty good ideas. I loved the "earthquake" and everything falling down in part 1 and the boss in part 3... And that monster pack music suits very well the pirate theme! I just had fun and enjoyed it! Good work :star::star::star::star::star: and heart as an author | 2009-07-30 21:34:00 Author: dajdaj03 Posts: 1486 |

Don't worry, maybe I sounded rude, but I typed while playing levels, so I was kinda in a rush. This evening I will try your stuff again. Cheers! | 2009-07-31 07:07:00 Author: OmegaSlayer Posts: 5112 |
You're almost on your way to the Cool Levels my friend! I'll give this a try in just a few minutes! FEEDBACK: Note, all comments were made while playing the level. Pirate Planet I: Monster Cave There are waay more things RIGHT than WRONG in this level, and most of the players here already pointed those things out. So please, don't take the comments too hard. I just want to see it improve. This level was really good! You used your lighting well, and you also used your front layer to a nice advantage in the underwater caves. I was expecting a nice big "Boom" or "Splash" when the ship hit the bottom of the caves. Or maybe, a couple of pieces from the ship falling to the ground. You should really add these effects, it can greatly improve the level's presentation. If you did add these, I didn't hear or see it. On some platforms, you may want to make them less rectangular. The level looks great with all of its cave-like angles and rocky surface, so some of these platforms look inferior to the level. The one bubble next to the third switch near the swinging sponge and switches looks "off." You forgot to make the piston raising the platform invisible near the same sponge and switches; well, unless you meant to do that. A Checkpoint right below the boss you "blow up" near the end would be nice. It's a shame to not view such an interesting boss for even a second. The lobster claws at the boss failed on me...they disconnected and then started snapping while they were limping everywhere. One of them even disappeared. However, you make have done that on purpose, I don't know. The earthquake was interesting, albeit annoying and almost kept me from finishing the level. The stalagmites were hard to get out as you were caught in them, flopping about. After the raising trip, I accidentally let go of the hook and was sent plummeting back down into the ocean, trapped and squished by the jumbling rocks. A fast piston gate or something should do the trick and stop accident prone Sackboys like myself for letting go of life-saving hooks =P FINAL: :star::star::star::star: - Most of these were just little nitpicks, so again, don't take them too harshly. Pirate Planet II: Cannibal Country This level was very creative and you kept design in mind most definitely! The introduction was good, just like the first Pirate Planet. You used your stickers VERY well =) I enjoyed grabbing and climbing up the very intricate-looking platforms to the top of the cliff. Nice work! You captured the environment of the cannibal's campsite very well with the gas, tepees and leaves, glowing eyes, feather decorations, and black tree stickers in the back. Very well done! The way the villagers hide from you is a nice touch as well! This gives them more of a characteristic appeal. I love how the rocks knocked out the bridge. I wonder who did that? Hmm... There was a random dark matter block while travelling up the green wooden lift. I don't know what it was for but it seemed out of place. There are also little holes on the sides of the rocky background in which you are travelling up the green lift. You should cover these up. The "inconspicuous" yellow light you have after taking the lift is revealed on dark matter if you climb the treetops, but it does add a nice tone to the area. You used your planes and decorations very well within the the heavily-forested treetop area after the lift. It all looks very organic! The two bubbles in the waterfall area seem out of place, but the waterfall is a nice addition along with the water. Compliments the forested area very well! I like the "bubble bait" on the breaking cliff. I sure fell for it, and I was just about to say it was out of place =P After the beautiful trees I've experienced, I was disheartened to see the rectangular ones you had in the background while riding the little boat. They could use a little "fluff." The boat goes backwards when moving too far backwards or too far forwards. May I suggest I wider Sensor Switch radius? The tepees and cannibals were very well-constructed in their village and you used the color correction to your advantage. The sun also makes a lovely appearance within the village. It would've been really nice if you had a piston that slowly moved the boat across the water in the back thin layer after the breaking lift. It could've given a nice "moving" effect. Was it just me, or was that boss laying down poo? It was good, fairly easy, though, kind of like the boss in the first part. Loved rolling down the spike-infested bloody tunnels! Another two random bubbles right before the wobbling black arrow...A little more would be nice =) Beautiful floating finisher into the night! FINAL: :star::star::star::star:? - Tiny little nitpicks keep it from a five =P Pirate Planet III: Peglegs Castle Description Now that's what I call a crash! If only there was a little more sound, though... I like how you presented the player to Pegleg's Castle near the beginning, a foreshadowing of what is to come! Well, at least I think that's part of his castle... A pretty and quaint little village with nice lights! =) Love the little underwater strip with the fish =) You used your stickers very well for portraying the castle. Hey, I've seen that moon somewhere around here before... [Nice touch] The rocks and debris opening the pathway was nice. The generic shapes work well in the castle. =) Would've been nice if you had a bubble on each step of the winding staircase in the little mini-tower in the green area Crumbling tower! Nice! Another generic [easy] boss scene...sigh... The boat only senses you around the middle area. I like being on the tip of the bow =) Sensor Switch tweak, maybe? Lol, the ending was the best part! Not in that sense...I meant the actual ending...Umm...heheh...you know what I mean, the funny part! And finally, treasure! FINAL: :star::star::star::star::star: - Fun and Enjoyable! Conclusion I really enjoyed these series of levels! You used lighting and environment very well in all three. The only thing that I have issues with the series as a whole is the easy bosses. If they were a little more extravagant and little nitpicks were fixed, they would all be a five, no doubt! FINAL::star::star::star::star:? 9.1 Out Of 10 Keep up the fun and awesome levels! | 2009-07-31 12:30:00 Author: Night Angel Posts: 1214 |
