Space Wrecked! A 3D Adventure on Many Layers
Archive: 15 posts
Well I've started a new project called: "Space Wrecked! A 3D Adventure on many layers". Here is the storyline (Spoilers): "Sargent Sack wakes up one morning in his bedroom on the giant space cruiser and he is asked to report to the training facility. Upon arrival Sargent Sack does some training in preparation for a possible attack from the Brantos, An alien tribe. Training stops when the alarm sounds that the space cruiser is under attack. Sargent Sack then reports to the departure bay and takes his ship out to provide defense. It is not long when Sargent Sacks ship is shot down and he lands on top of a frozen peak on another planet. Unfortunatly the only safe extraction point to rescue the sergent is from the other side of the small planet." That's all I'm going to say for now... ![]() As the title suggests this will be a 3D level. At some points the level will be 12 layers! However i have decided to vary the amount of layers used throughout the level in order to create variety of course. ![]() I have worked on some small alphas and started the main level. I'll post more details and some "Work in Progress pictures" of the main level later Right now tell me what you think ![]() | 2009-07-26 07:15:00 Author: baahas ![]() Posts: 74 |

Shmaaa.... 10 layers, pfffft. Don't need them (although... that could come in handy in my upcoming level...) | 2009-07-27 04:42:00 Author: Outlaw-Jack ![]() Posts: 5757 |

Thanks guys! I'll post some shots of how I'm using the layers tommorrow. (E.g long hallways that lead into the background, ect.) | 2009-07-27 09:21:00 Author: baahas ![]() Posts: 74 |
I'm a bit skepctical of this whole "3D level" thing right now, as I just don't think from what we've seen from it right now looks right, but that's just me, and don't let that discourage you, as I could still find it a really good level if you do the visual effects and "3D" right. | 2009-07-28 09:33:00 Author: lk9988 ![]() Posts: 1077 |
I'm making a 3d level. It uses 3 thick layers and 4 thin layers. | 2009-07-28 10:07:00 Author: rtm223 ![]() Posts: 6497 |

hmmmm it seems not many people understand the concept of 3D... | 2009-07-28 13:11:00 Author: theamilien ![]() Posts: 485 |
I gave it some thought to using the new layers. I decided that by the time its taken me to get them all looking how I want, and publish the level, people will be sick of it or MM will have patched it. So I decided against it. | 2009-07-28 18:12:00 Author: GruntosUK ![]() Posts: 1754 |
I'll be looking forward to this since it sounds like you have a good grasp on using it for effect - ie: the long hallways - and a solid level idea to go with it. | 2009-07-28 19:32:00 Author: Unknown User ![]() |
