What else would rubber float on? Certainly not air!

floats... as in... floats in the air. Most likely that. It probably floats... and goes down when you jump on it.2008-09-07 23:03:00

Its been said that water will be introduced eventually as a DLC and not released on the blue-ray version. At least that is what they said a nice surprise would be cool.2008-09-07 23:28:00

Not true, it's been theorized that it *may* be possible to add water later but Alex Evens said that at the moment it would just suck up too much processing power. So unless they can find a way to do it well without killing the fps they're not going to.

I've seen this aaages ago.. its what i've been basing my assumptions about water on. Somebody had a really good counter-argument though, maybe it was that it floats in air, like a baloon.. it was something that I believed.

Plus, they HAVE pretty much confirmed no water on blu-ray.

Or maybe they are doing wind. It would float in an updraft...

or mayby its just like a buoyancy thing.. like a (non-helium) balloon.. very unaffected by gravity (e.g., tie it to a string attached to the ceiling, hit it and it could float up slowly instead of swinging side to side)

lol that was probably me. I'd put my money on it just floats around like a sorta helium balloon.

But it's rubber. That just doesn't make much sense to me if they're really going with the realism angle...

Sometimes it's good to twist realism to make it fun. Also, i bet next to that is rubber. That's 'Pink Rubber'

That would mean that it wasn't realism then....2008-09-08 02:39:00

Lol it's not a totally realistic game... we are controlling little things made of cloth remember. I'm not saying this is what they've done... but it's just my guess.

If you're making the assumption of water based on the fact that some rubber floats in water then you forgot about wood. Wood floats. Really tiny pebbles float. Also, not all rubber floats so that's stretching the facts pretty far. I'm assuming its just another material with a special property. I bet we'll get a few of those.

They've stated a few times that water will not be in the game. "Possibly" DLC. If the fans want it, they'll focus on making it and releasing in DLC. If the fans want more character options [costumes sounds lame] then they may do that instead. It's sort of up the to community, at least from what I've read. But..

Water will not be on the disc or part of the game at launch.

Realism is overrated.

Nuh uh, that's known as saltation, which is when the pebbles get uplifted by the current, and then fall back down due to the weight of the pebbles. It looks like they're leap-frogging.

There's also solution, which is tiny bits of dirt that you can just about see, which changes the colour of the water, but thats not pebbles

I'm sticking with my 'Pink Rubber' theory. Rubber is normal rubber, then Pink Rubber floats in the air i bet.2008-09-08 18:11:00

They said they're trying to make it as realistic as possible lol, they're not gonna throw that outta the window so something specifically pink can float lol.

But they threw in dark matter... which isn't excactly that realistic. They just named it and described it as something that seams plausible.

Yeah, but dark matter is like that in real life lol. We haven't actually seen any (irl) but it has those properties

Water is already confirmed for DLC!
Why does everyone try to prove something already been proven?

I was making an odd reference to monty python. ehe. I don't think it was very clear and only 1% of anyone would have got it if it had been clear.

I was under the impression dark matter was just basically, glue. Cooler name. Besides, there are debates raging about what holds the universe together. Some claim its the "dark matter".

Actually, it's not proven.
Lack of water doesn't concern me at all.
The pink rubber floats, as in it falls slowly.

this is basically what i think too. Either that, or it will fall when you jump on it.
