Whenever I try to join a friend, it comes up with a box that says "failed to join ___ because they have a different build date" Does anyone know what this means? Thanks. :star:

This means one of you hasn't downloaded an update to LBP. Both of you should quit game and load LBP again to download the update.

PSN won't let you sign online unless you are updated. well, with updates that aren't needed (2.80) you can log on PSN without downloading it. that can be a problem too, if one of you still didn't download 2.80...

If you mean that only in the last few hours this has been affecting you then maybe your friends live in a different area and the new 1.17 update has come out at different times in different regions ??????? Therefore maybe you would have different builds but still be able to be signed in online at the same time????

Same thing happened to me. But its been happening for a couple of days.. If there was an update for LPB, wouldn't it tell me when I logged on LBP? We both have the same system update.. I don't get it

Okay, so this is the basic problem. It seems that European players received an update yesterday while US players did not. That means that there is now a gap between US and European players. You will not be able to join friends from another continent unless they have received the update as well. We are all hoping that Mm fixes this soon so we can play with our overseas friends once more.
