Reintroduction

Hey guys I'm muttjones. I've been a member of this site since way back before LBP was released. Some of you oldies might remember me as the Indiana Jones freak or from when I helped work on the original sackcast before that fell through.

Anyway I lost my LBP love for a while but I have recently gotten it back so when I came back to this forum thought to my self: "I have no idea what's going on....". So much has changed here and with LBP so I was wondering if any of you could get me up to date on the major things happening with LBP and the forums (new DLC, features? etc.)

Cheers,

muttjones

Hey! I remember you, definitely. I don't know how long you've been gone, but here's some of the major updates:

MGS Pack was released (though I think you were here for that). Contains 4 new levels, new interactive music tracks, new materials, a new background, new stickers, new sounds the paintinator (a paintball gun), and a paint switch, which activates after x number of hits with the paintballs shot from the paintinator. More information on the pack here (http://blog.us.playstation.com/2008/12/19/lbp-premium-level-packs-costume-packs-metal-gear-solid-edition-on-the-ps-store-1223/).
Online Create is in the works - private beta testing is ongoing.
There is a new SackCast. They're an offshoot of us, though they do things pretty independently. Their head honcho will be on the BBC to chat about LittleBigPlanet (for a new show called Games Brittania), and he may end up plugging LBPCentral and the SackCast. Here's the link to the Sackcast: http://www.sackcast.com
The guys who ran LittleBigPlanetoid got hired on in April as community managers for Media Molecule - they're great guys, perfect for the job, and are very approachable. Both of them are registered here (Tom_Molecule and Spaff_Molecule).
Lots and lots of great levels have been published. Check out the Community Spotlight Archive (http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=73).
Tons of costumes and sticker packs have been added by Mm. Most notably, the Monster Pack, which comes with a level, sounds, stickers, materials, and a new background. Optionally, you can buy the costume pack, which comes with 4 monster-themed costumes.
Creator Pack 1 was released (it's free!), which contains new tools for creation. More information here (http://www.mediamolecule.com/2009/04/24/a-closer-look-at-creator-pack-1/).

There's probably more that I'm missing, but that should cover most of it. Have fun (again)!

It's a fun job - I wish I could make a living off of it, but until then, I'm definitely enjoying it.

The monster pack has some new sounds and a new music track, we've got some new sounds from an Ico pack as well. I think that's about it

Welcome back, Mutt!!
I remember you as that guy who defended Williams' kingdom of the crystal skull score with a deep passion.

Yeah, a few. There's probably more than I can remember off the top of my head, so I'm not saying this list is everything, but recall the ICO/Shadow of the Colossus Pack and the Monster Kit both having sound effects, with the latter also containing an interactive soundtrack.

Welcome back!! I'm new here since May, but that wasn't really what you were asking..

I think they have covered all the notable new stuff that has been released so far. Creator pack 1 has some great new features and free. The private beta in progress as CC said with online create is the big one on the radar to watch out for.

I think the major stuff outside of MM is all the amazing creations that folks here have published. Quite a few have really pushed the envelope of what LBP can do.

..again.. welcome back!

Glad to see your GPS is working again muttjones.

I haven't been here that long, but this site evolves almost as fast as Rock can dangle a peanut in a Noobs face. Check out how many members there are now...it will probably blow your mind.

And definitely check out the Spotlighted Level Archives, along with the other forums mentioned...some awesome creations.
