Strange Poll Issue

Archive: 6 posts

I was looking at the poll in this (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=t=13982) thread, and I noticed the math didn't quite add up right.

As you can see, it says that 100% voted for 2, when one person voted for 1. It adds up to 116.67%, which is obviously wrong. Does it do this for everyone else? It should say 85.71% for option 2.

It says there were 6 voters total, so the problem lies there. Perhaps someone managed to vote twice by glitching the system. It doesn't make a running tally of the total based on votes per category, rather it calculates percentages based on how many it thinks there are total. But, whoever answered 1 was wrong!2009-07-22 02:49:00

It's not an issue - whoever configured the poll allowed for multiple selections per user (as per the bottom: "Multiple Choice Poll"), so while there were 6 total voters, one of them made two selections. The percentage on the right represents the percentage out of the total number of voting identities, not the number of votes themselves.2009-07-22 03:26:00

Ok, that makes much more sense. My bad for not realizing that while everyone did vote for option two, one person also selected option one in addition. It just looks strange at a first glance.
