Help with lights.

Archive: 3 posts

Hello everyone, I hope you're having a great day!

So I am having this awkward issue, that I can't find out how to turn on a light with a magnetic swtich and then KEEP it turned on.
How do I do that?

Set up a permanent switch.

Make a square of dark matter - then take a smaller square out of the middle of it so you have a frame. Put a block of dissolve inside the frame. Put a mag key on the dissolve. Put the matching mag switch on the dark matter frame. Set the mag switch for on/off then attach it to the light. Set the radius so that it includes the mag key and set it for inverse. Now put a player proximity switch where you want this light to come on and set that for on/off and attach that to the dissolve block. When the player gets to the spot you want the light to come on he will trigger the proximity switch, dissolve the dissolve getting rid of the key which will turn on the mag key and then your light.... make sense?

Doesn't have to be a player prox switch either - you can use a timer to set it off or any other switch like a buton or a lever.

ok, place a mag key on a dissolve, then a mag switch somewhere next to it set it to inverted, then connect that to a like and conect another switch to the dissolve, if done right u trigger the first switch the dissolve does its job and the light stays on WIN!!!

hope that helps ^^
