Wall jump?!
Archive: 12 posts
While messing around in create mode, i managed to make a wall on wich you can do a sort of wall jump, like in mario 64; the wall was perfectly vertical, was pretty long (about 6-7 screens height) and had a pretty complex shape; i managed to do this wall jump every time i tried, both in create and play mode; i did'nt mess around with any invisible material, and the wall was made of metal, with LOTS of things glued to it. I just deleted the level i don't know what i was thinking.... Has this happened to anyone else? This could be very useful | 2009-07-19 15:34:00 Author: Shadowheaven Posts: 378 |
maybe walljump was already implemented in the game and you managed to enter the SUPER SECRET code :hero: ... but no, this never happened to me :/ | 2009-07-19 15:53:00 Author: Yarbone Posts: 3036 |

While messing around in create mode, i managed to make a wall on wich you can do a sort of wall jump, like in mario 64 That game is awesome! oh, sorry, off topic :blush: theres a level published that shows how to do that although in that version the wall is bumpy | 2009-07-20 16:44:00 Author: springs86 Posts: 785 |
There's a level called "art of the wall-jump!" by PLAPPEH. It uses tiny ridges so the material looks flat, but is bumpy. A level called "Tutorial: Wall Jump Surfaces and Wall Jumping" by Insanitys1w just has little ledges sticking out. A level called "Wall jump" by Sio510 has the flattest looking walls, I assume there are minibumps, though. All of these "walls" I find to be unreliable and irritating. | 2009-07-20 19:16:00 Author: tashi Posts: 60 |
it's not like that at all, the wall was absolutely flat, without any invisible material - i'm absolutely sure about it; it was some kind of glitch... | 2009-07-20 19:49:00 Author: Shadowheaven Posts: 378 |

What do you mean? I'm sorry, i don't get the question... if you mean if there was something glued on the wall's reachable area, the answer is no: there were a lot of things glued to it, but only off-screen | 2009-07-21 13:57:00 Author: Shadowheaven Posts: 378 |
Were the walls more like: || or | |? | 2009-07-21 14:01:00 Author: BSprague Posts: 2325 |
it was a single wall, on the right of a huge elevator | 2009-07-21 14:23:00 Author: Shadowheaven Posts: 378 |
could it have been moving at an imperceptible level? ive seen some weird things happen when a block of material somehow unglues from it invisible dark matter staple. | 2009-07-21 18:13:00 Author: Deftmute Posts: 730 |
If the elevator was constantly working, it's something that has to do with pistons. In presence of piston working with a short timing and great force and length, the sackboy behaves strangely when you jump. | 2009-07-22 07:38:00 Author: OmegaSlayer Posts: 5112 |
