Your Ultimate Band

Archive: 18 posts

Ok, this can be moved to Forum Games if that is where it belongs, but it is media... kinda...

ANYWAY...

If you could pick any 5 musicians (or 4, or 3) to be in 1 ultimate band, who would you pick?

Just put the name and the instrument they would be playing (just incase someone doesn't know)

Also, if you feel the need, state what Genre they would be playing etc... I guess you could do more than one, for different genres?

Finally, they don't *have* to be a live now

For Example:

for a Metal band:

Vocals/Rhythm Guitar: Matt Heafy (Trivium)
Lead Guitar : Padge (BFMV)
Bass: Adam Duce (Machine Head)
Drums: The Rev (Avenged Sevenfold)

So yeah... What's your Ultimate band?

EDIT: YOU CAN'T HAVE MORE THAN ONE MEMBER FROM THE SAME BAND!

----------------

Now playing: Trivium - Throes of Perdition (http://www.foxytunes.com/artist/trivium/track/throes+of+perdition) via FoxyTunes (http://www.foxytunes.com/signatunes/)

Oh, geez. I gotta try this out.

Well, mine would be an epic metal band.
Vocals- Geoff Tate of Queensryche
Lead Guitar- Eddie van Halen of Van Halen (the guitar GOD if ever there was one!)
Rhythm Guitar- We don't even need one, our bassist handles that.
Bass- Steve Harris of Iron Maiden
Drums- Dave Mackintosh (Likely spelled that wrong) of DragonForce

So, yeah, that's my band. I almost put Bruce Dickinson for vocals, but Geoff Tate has such an amazing voice, and I could only put one Maiden member.

You raise a good point - only one member from a band, you couldn't have the drummer and guitarist from the same band for example, thanks for helping me remember that

Also, good choices

Also, good choices Well, I figured if there was more then one member, it would end up being just that band with a couple different dudes.

And thanks. As you can see, I highly respect the metal players of the 80s.

Um...
Guitar - Buckethead
Bass - Les Claypool
Drums - Danny Carey
Lyrics - Dolores O'Riordan?

They would be an alternative experimental progressive indie rock band. YEAH!

The Cranberries RAWK!

We would be called Colonel Sander's Cranberry Tool, Primus! CSCTP for short.

How can you be one of the best rhythm guitarists in the world? A rhythm guitarist is a rhythm guitarist. Usually all you're doing is playing power chords. It's not too hard. I would say that Buckethead is a much better rhythm guitarist. Doesn't every guitarist play rhythm guitar in some parts of the song? And he never really sings. As a matter of fact I liked it better, back in Ride the Lightning, when he wasn't trying to sing. He was just screaming.

Lead guitar and singing, though, that's a bit different.2009-07-27 16:56:00

Being a rhythm guitarist doesn't mean that you have to play difficult things it's more about keeping the song going in close timing (which James Hetfield is one of the best at).

Buckethead is more a lead guitarist and probably wouldn't be able to sing while playing the type of music he does.

Yes but not as close in timing as the drums and rhythm guitar.

And he never really sings. As a matter of fact I liked it better, back in Ride the Lightning, when he wasn't trying to sing. He was just screaming.
It was still singing

Lead Guitar - Tom Scholz (Boston)
Rhythm Guitar - Mick Jones (Foreigner)
Bass/Vocals/Piano - Geddy Lee (Rush)
Drums - Lars Ulrich (Metallica)

Because there were rules, I didn't choose EVERYONE from Rush.

And maybe I could be their Rhythm Guitarist, because I wouldn't dare step over Alex Lifeson.

Radiohead already are the ultimate band for me
But seriously, I can't decide this. Because I like such a wide range of music, putting my favourite artists together would just end up with downright wierd and probably bad music.
