Everything else:
As you find yourself stuck in a time loop, discover the fight between good and evil in this epic story driven movie style saga. Discover the secret to the end of the world and how you are the only one who can stop it.
all

The second part is unlocked at the end of the first level, and the second part is called Deja Boom (Part 2) and both can be played back to back right now!

This is a two part saga, since it required about 190% of a thermometer. I have held off on publishing part 1 until the completion of part 2 since I think it would be way more fun to play them back to back like it was a movie.

This is very story driven, with some epic boss fights. I spent 4 months, 300+ hours (had to make part 2 TWICE!) and broke up with my girlfriend about 4 times while working on this project. (Yes we got back together again, thanks for asking). I will add media to this post as soon as it's available

As far as the F4F: I don't want feedback as usual, I would like it in the form of a REVIEW... and I will review your level in return as well as add a hitlist of feedback! So it's win win.

FOR LBPCentral - and all the help I've had here - I have included a mini game within the levels. I have hidden 6 puzzle pieces in the form of STICKERS. If you collect all 6, you can assemble the puzzle in Part 2 on a sticker switch board to unlock a hidden area that has a bunch of my creating tools, like a time delay, Random Access 1 time memory card, and some other secret tools which were all used to make these levels. Also in this area there will be a Rocket Pack with no tether, so you can fly around and see how everything works!

:star::star::star::star::star::star::star::star:
Special thanks to Jaeyden, GreenPikaN00b for their help in Part 2.
And thanks to all those who took part in naming the level - AND thank you so much Cog for the epic win movie trailer!here (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=t=11256).

Thanks to Morgana25 for help with the contest ideas.

Not sure if it's been mentioned, but I have a few things.

-You have a typo in your level description for part 2. I don't remember the word, but you have an "m" instead of an "n"
-There's a visible piston on the crane operator (not sure if that's intentional)
-I really miss the light falling over... did you take that out?

Anyways, nice little set of levels. They got 4 stars a piece, and I only found 4 of the stickers (but I had community prizes off).

Hey thanks - yeah the piston is the little controls of the guy moving the crane around. And YOU have to knock the light over, it's not automatic, if and when you do it - it will trigger some dialogue too.

ALSO for those having trouble with the boss in Part 1, I changed the gate to infinite life. cough YARBONE cough...

Really, I made a conscious effort to try to knock it over, but it didn't work. It'd be neat if you 'forced' it over as soon as the player got near it, because that was the little thing that sold me on the deja vu part while testing (that was waaay back)2009-07-18 23:09:00

I would but I have to do some serious editing to cut thermo back - if I add a sticker on part 1 it over heats. Its odd sometimes I knock it down without trying and sometimes I can't knock it down if I want to.

SWEET just found it on cool pages, page 18! hahaha.

Brilliant work Lucky. I've no idea how you do most of that stuff especially the gas filling the level and then it resetting. Very clever stuff. Great story too and good fun when I eventually figured out how to beat that boss.

I had to play it several times though because the key kept failing to unlock level 2. It's that weird glitch again. It worked eventually anyway and I got 1st place on part 1 and 2nd on part 2.

I only found 2 stickers in each level though. They must be very well hidden. Well I saw another after the boss in part 2 but couldn't reach it.

Brilliant work on them anyway.

I'm pretty sure gas can be emitted over things, much like things can fall through gas. It's one of the convenient properties of gas. Can anyone confirm?

Oh man...this was a really cool story. I really enjoyed it. The boss in each level were a bit challenging, but fun. The effect at the end was very cool. i also enjoyed the contest for the levels...I hope I win You should indeed make more levels because you are pretty good at it.2009-07-19 04:53:00

Ok, well, then I know you can at least emit gas over sackboy, lol. Did you just have the gas above the level the whole time attached to a piston, attached to dark matter? Then the lights turn off, piston extends, sackboy dies in gas?

Hey you're killing the movie magic (Yeah thats what I did, but out to the left or right, not above) And my first system was to just emit gas like you first thought, but I had to make it in the shape of the room, and it didn't get everywhere so people could miss it. Piston works GREAT

WHAT THE? My most tagged tag on part 2 is "Boring" even with a 5 star average and 50% heart ratio. Lol, I don't get what people want these days lol.

And Spider I have made A LOT OF LEVELS... Check out Kid Rocket's Revenge if you like these, that's my other 5 star quality level... then I have 2 other Ok 3-4 star levels that preceded that one called Mr Rocket and His Army of Bobs, and Mrs Rocket's Robot Factory.

Played through this twice last night and it rocks! Really impressed the 13 year old I was in there with too so you've got some real fan range here too.

Ambitious storyline that is touching and very exciting too. I love the characters and the dialogue (which there is a lot of) is well done. Story driven level lovers will adore this set.

The boss is cool on both level 1 and 2. I vaguely recall seeing some of part 2 somewhere before

The only issues I had were on the first level the lift to take you to the scoreboard dips into the gas so it's very easy to die there. Not sure you intended it to be that way or not. And on the 2nd level it's not totally clear to hit R1 in the rift.

Besides that I had no problems at all and really enjoyed playing it. I think I found all the secrets but dopey me forgot to send you a pic! I'll have to run through again tonight.

Well done - 5 stars & hearted for both. Thanks for working so hard on them and sharing them with the community!

It was better than the Beta.

Playing 1 and 2 back-to-back made this series a Must Play in my book. I was totally engaged from beginning to end. The stage was impressively detailed, as was the story line. A brilliant merge of perilous platforming, Boss battles, and a "Save The World" quest. I loved it!

Rated 5-Stars on both and hearted!

Bravo! Well Done!

This is basically a big bump for the movie trailer, which is just too sweet and cool, I have no words - perfect work with that song!

This 2-part-level was great fun to play. I enjoyed the story and thought it all looked really nice. I love the cars, they're the best cars I've seen in LBP so far. And i'm looking forward to seeing what the prize is for collecting all the stickers Looking forward to seeing more levels from you in the future.2009-07-24 12:06:00

Hey Bushka, thank you SO much for the kind words.

As for those who couldn't get to part 2 due to the Key glitch, I unlocked Part 2 so everyone can play it. Even though it will kill it's 5 star rating because people will be like... I don't get what's going, jumping into the middle of an involved story -

But I don't mind, because you HAVE to play the second part if you played the first or all the time I left part one on the shelves would have been wasted.

Ok Lucky, I'm afraid to say I'm a little slow to get to this one. i was among its first few plays on part one but my terrible skill ability didn't allow me to beat it until my 5th run through. By then it was around 400 plays and now I'm finally getting to feedback.
I have to say you'd taken on quite a huge task in representing such a story in LBP, the heart of all things non-story related thanks to the thermo! It worked well in two parts and the fact you released them both at once was brilliant too.
I loved all the different bosses in this level. They weren't just normal enemies. They'd interact with you and were actually difficult to take down (hence it took me so long to beat both parts!)
Another thing I really liked was the backgrounds you'd put in yourself. The use of perspective is great because it makes the level feel far more open then it otherwise would be.
I think you've made an excellent couple of levels which really are both fun to play and gripping storywise.
Five stars and a heart Lucky, hope these get somewhere on Cool Levels!

I'm going to try and give you a mini-review since you asked for one, but it's probably not going to be very good.

Just played part 1 and 2 and have to say I'm very impressed. I see you've made a few improvements to part 1 that helped make overall a more enjoyable level. Everything was extremely well done, there were many little details that really enhance the experience of both levels, and the story was really original and executed quite well. The scenery looked pretty good throughout both levels as well.

Scores out of 10:

Scenery: 8
Both levels mostly looked very good, especially the car, but there were a few bare spots, probably because of thermo, but overall it was quite good.

Fun Factor: 9

Both the levels were very fun, most of the gameplay was original, the turret enemies were really well done, and the bosses were unique and original as well. The story also made you want to know what would happen next as well.

Level Design: 8

Everything was easy to follow, you were never really guessing where you had to go next, everything flowed pretty nicely.

Originality: 10

You won't really find a more original level then this, everything from the story to the gameplay feels very new and fresh.

Overall I gave both the levels :star::star::star::star::star: and a heart. I also think both these levels deserve more plays because you can tell the time and effort LuckyShot has put into both these levels.

Also thanks for the great feedback on my level as well.

Thank you Coxy, and Dr Vab - obviously you are welcome for your feedback, always a pleasure with the unfair platformer levels.

Unfortunately the levels are a week old now, and will never again be seen on cool levels, and the plays will probably never break a couple thousand, but I am very happy that people here enjoyed the levels so much.

I've played both of these, and replayed the revamp, all a couple times over. I think it's great, the environment design is solid and really feels like a city or suburbia wherever it's at, the platforming and action is there, the concept is great, the storyline is great... the antagonist and NPC's really feel like realized characters facilitating and trapped in a dire situation. I have to give you a standing ovation for going through the trouble to rebuild it too.

The whole thing reminds me of Half-Life crossed with a little bit of Sonic the Hedgehog... it's good.

Keep it going.
