Having something that's emitted wired up

Archive: 5 posts

Any way to do this? I want a piece of dissolve to be emitted, but I want that piece to be attached to a switch so it can be dissolved on request and a new one emitted on request too...

Is there anyway to do such a thing? Or a work around perhaps?

You could have a pice of wood attached on piston. on the wood theres a mag key. the dissolve you emit has a key switch on with the wire attached to the dissolve. when you press the switch or whatever, it moves the piston so it comes into contact with the mag switch dissolving it. to emit on request just set a switch to an emitter with the emitter on emit one at a time and the switch on one shot (if you only want for the dissolve to be emitted when the previous one has dissolved) . Hope this helped, if its confusing ill answer any questions or maybe if your lucky draw you a pretty diagram 2009-07-17 22:02:00

That's just the work around I was looking for. Makes perfect sense...I probably should have thought about it a bit more myself before posting haha

Thanks a lot!

I've done this behind the scenes in my LittleBigMemory level. What you need to do, if you are going to be using this method a lot in your level, is to designate a color from the magnetic key switches, and use that one on your blocks. These blocks of dissolve usually consist of the magnetic key switch rigged to itself, and a different colored magnetic key set to trigger something different. After this piece of dissolve has completed it's job, what I do is quickly emit a piece of flat dark matter (0.1 - 0.5s lifetime) with the magnetic key corresponding to the dissolve on it, directly in front of the dissolve. After the dissolve and dark matter disappear, everything is all cleaned up and tidy.2009-07-17 23:17:00

I've never thought about the things you guys mentioned, this whole time I was just capturing the object and the thing connected to it together .2009-07-18 03:07:00
