Tip: The T.I.E. takes a few seconds to get going.

I was playing through Tie Skipping the other day after someone made the topic on how to Ace it. I thought about how Mm made the level, so I went in an empty level and started making it... MGS style!
I hope you enjoy playing it just as much as I enjoyed making it. Thanks!

Idunno. It's supposed to be a pun since all Metal Gears are three-letter acronyms.2009-07-17 03:27:00

Well then you should make some ludicrous acronym up... Timed Interval Eradicator, perhaps? does this vary from the MM level in much besides the decor? =/ just curious.2009-07-17 05:34:00

Well the tie is electrified and you get three bubbles for every jump.
The key is timing to get multipliers.

It's like the Tie Skipping in the Gardens...
Unless they changed something... (not electrified, that's no biggie).

The Gardens version gives you one bubble per jump. My version gives you three so you have an easier time getting multipliers. It focuses more on timing and strategy rather than just jumping.2009-07-17 18:27:00

With 100,000+ people making levels, there's a good chance that someone is going to have the same idea as you.

On topic: I'll try this out later and give you some feedback. I'll update this post.

UPDATE:

There isn't really much that I can say about this level. I currently hold 2nd place. I liked the design of it, because even though it is a basic idea, it was presented well. The environment before actually entering the play area was nice, and Snake was a nice touch as well. The platform you stand on was good, though I didn't really see the need of the rocket in there, it looked fine anyway. The actual play area was set up very well, with alternating lights and a nice use of different layers to make a design and scene. It was a little slow to get started, but that is just part of the gradual ramp of difficulty I'm guessing. It was actually harder in the beginning to get over the piece, than it was in the middle to jump over it. It did get hard near the end, though it was a sneeze that cost me my 2nd place run. I never actually got a combo, the bubbles disappear too fast to let them sit and the collect them on the next revolution of the tie. I would have liked other things to happen as the tie moved faster, maybe the platform would move left and right or lasers would strike certain parts of the platform. I gave it :star::star::star::star::star: and a heart because, like the original, it is addictive and well done. I look forward to taking the top spot from you in the near future.

I might try this one soon. Funny thing is, I'm actually making a jetpack version of Tie skipping. I know it sounds complex, maybe even stupid, but it's going well in development right now.2009-07-18 19:37:00

Ok, I played the level, and it's a pretty worthy sequel to the original. The starting area looks pretty nice, and I found the rocket on the platform a very nice piece of detail. Also, Snake had a pretty nice design, so well done on that. Now, onto the actual challenge, the area looks very nice, and the lights are very good. The T.I.E thing also looks funny and overall the visuals have the same sort of appeal that the Mm survival challenge has. It's quite a lot harder (or at least for me) but that's not a bad thing. It was a fine and addictive survival challenge, but I only give a :star::star::star::star: rating as there's not that much different in gameplay terms. But still, good work!2009-07-19 11:07:00

Nice level Sack-Jake! Very well crafted, I played it in 2 player, there aren't any extra rewards for multiple players but I didn't expect any. Would be cool if Liquid said something scary on the way down, but otherwise nice work!

4 stars from me.

I just played through and managed to get 2'nd place (Just barely nudging BSprague into 3'rd)

it seems equal or better than the story version in most ways except;

The music. The origional used that sort of greek sounding thing that sped up with the tie. I was inspired to play around around with the MGS interactive music and think you could have it build in a similar way, by changing the mix as time goes on.

I really wish the MGS pack had a little more music because the included music isn't as versitile as the story music.

I gave it 4 stars

If you feel inclined, check out my Gradient Studio Utility. and let me know what you think.
