LBPcentral LOGO (now with Invisible Sticker)

Hi everybody,

I recently had to create a "LittleBigPlanet", a "LittleBigPlanetcentral" and a "LBPCentral.com" logos which are not stickered but constructed with materials.
I thought these logos could be usefull for other members of the forum that would give a "LBPc" touch to their level.
So, I published a locked level (located near NY, USA) called "LBPcentral LOGO" in which you can recover these logos.
I have published a second level, next to the first one, caled "Key for LBPcentral Logo" in which there is a locker to obtain the key. I will send the code by MP to members that ask it

Thanks to Yarbone and its skills using the glitches of the game we have now in addition a great functionnal scoreboard with the logo INSIDE!!! Thank you Yarbone!

EDIT:
I have added in the level the whole alphabet with the same fonts than the one used in the LBPcentral logos. There is also a set of 0-9 nubers with a different but nice font.

EDIT 02 21 2010 : Thanks to Incinerator22, i updated the level with a new gift to the community: its invisible logo sticker . It is a really great addition.

Now that's an epic work what you did here.
I can't think of a possible way of implementing this on my level (hey! But keep in mind that I already have the sticker on it, eh?) but I'm sure that many people on the forums can give this thing a real good use!

Of course, just select it all and push down on the right stick. It will have a limit though and begin to lose its fine details.

And to Takelow, that's an amazing rendition. You should take that and try to morph it into your own unique version of the LBPC logo, you obviously have the talent. 		2009-07-16 16:45:00

Great work Takelow. Don't know how you make stuff look that good. I have real trouble with the corner edit tool. I find it's ok for straight lines but hopeless for curves. Any tips ?

BTW I think it might be a good idea to have a logo of the actual web address i.e. lbpcentral.com. I would like to put that in at the end of my levels. The reason I say that is because I've mentioned LittleBigPlanetCentral to lots of players and they say "what's that".

I know it's obvious to us but for anyone who doesn't already know about the site the actual web address would literally spell it out for them and save them having to search for it.

Of course you can. Once you got the objects, you can resize them,break them, modify them, recapture them...

Yeah, an advice. I don't really use the corner edit tool for curves. Most of the time, when i need a curve, i simply use the standard "moon" shape and the Y button.

I know what you mean brnxblze. There's some sort of bug with keys. I had to try about 6 times myself before it actually unlocked the level.

Try again and switch prizes and photobooth on and off and try a few times with each until it works. It's a pain I know.

BTW Takelow are you aware you've left the level copyable ? Also I collected the 2nd one as I only wanted one but when I put it in my level it had the jetpack attached. I tried to delete the jetpack but it deleted the whole thing.		2009-07-16 20:08:00

Anyway, Takelow's done a fantastic job, eh? I'm making use of it myself in an upcoming (unannounced as of yet) project, so you'll start seeing everywhere soon. I'll put up an Update about this too - see if I can't give it a little more publicity.

Takelow: Do you mind allowing anyone and everyone to pick this up? I'll make sure you get the credit you deserve, but I also want the site to be advertised in as many levels as possible. Do you think you could offer the unlock code to just Registered members? I can modify it to the maximum extent that my abilities allow me, not to my liking. I can try to run a rubber circle around the outer edge, but in the end it will look like an absolute disaster.

Well, what I did when I modified it (added some words, can't tell you which ones), I just took a circle shape of rubber and just rounded out the rubber behind each letter - it was surprisingly easy.

Anyways, the level will be getting an addition soon. I haven't sent it to him yet, but I made another logo to add to the level. Check it out:

This was the first design. The new one is slightly different, but it's the same idea. The original is VERY large, but the new one is made to be able to shrink down pretty well.

And, BSprague, I'm no DaVinci myself, I just hack at until I'm happy - which sometimes take a very long time. Case in point - this guy here took about two hours. That stupid tree was hard!		2009-07-17 02:29:00

Change it to floaty material, and put a black sticker on it - and it gets about twice as thick... that's what I did, plus the texture is WIN!		2009-07-17 03:45:00

For the thermo, i don't really know. But it is not a big deal i think. You can also find in the same level a stickered version of the logo that use less thermo though.

For the resizing, the quality is equal in a certain extend (you can have a good idea on the LBPCentral.com logo picture in the first post of the thread). But if you want to make it too small, the fine details of the font unfortunately disappear. It is a LBP common issue...		2009-07-17 11:27:00

With regards to the shrinking as Takelow says some detail disappears when you go too small. If you try it just keep an eye on the smallest part which in the case of the new one is the dot in .com or the original one the heart above the I in little.

Thanks, that seems simple enough to do. Just take a circle of rubber, change to Front View, and make the outline in the layer behind the actual logo. Then L3 the logo, push it back a layer, and copy it. It will take the edges to it, but keep the original work. Great! That will definitely be a lot easier than I though.		2009-07-17 13:36:00

I may add one to my levels, but instead of I'll just put it in the front page.

Tip: If you don't want your thermometer to go high, just make the logo into dissolve and attach it to a switch. Maybe a Proximity or Button. Then after it dissolves, you have alittle more space for things you want to put.		2009-07-17 14:19:00

No because the logo level is copyable. If i unlock it and add the locker at the entrance, every single player will be able to copy it in is moon, even if it is not a registred member of the LBPC forums, since these logos are only dedicated to the forums members.
Nevertheless, I hope you find a way to open the level with the key.

I did that too and embedded it at the bottom of a scoreboard. I also changed the outer material on one to pink floaty ( think it's that one that stays where you put it ) and that looks great too.		2009-07-19 12:44:00

Sorry Takelow but I collected the alphabet last night and couldn't use it. I left a comment on the level but incase you didn't see it the problem was it was all 1 object. I couldn't select individual letters to do anything with them. It also had the jetpack attached to it.

LOL Can't believe it's taken me 9 months to notice also that in the speech bubble at the bottom of the screen MM have spelt 'Adjuster' wrong. It's missing a d.		2009-07-28 10:58:00

Don't know sorry but I know that with the alphabets I collected from Lite_Sleeper you can select individual letters and copy them with L3 ok. I tried that with yours and it copied the whole alphabet ( and the jetpack )

I don't know if he is a member on here or not but maybe someone else knows how it's done ?

Is it to do with them being stuck to a background ? Maybe it works ok if they're all free floating when they're captured ?		2009-07-28 11:10:00

I just updatd the level and changed the object in the bubble. I deleted the black shape on which the letters was glued. I hope it will be ok now but i can't test it myself since the object directly come from my popit (then, when i play the level in play mode, it didn't go in my Community object, but stay in my own created object). So, if somebody could test it for me, it would be GREATLY appreciated. The fact is you MUST havethe possibility to choose one letter only, and delete some letters without affecting the whole object. I use mostly the basic shapes (addition and deletion of the shapes) and adjust the details with the editor corner tool.
And for the font, i start with the letters of the logo "LBPcentral" and create the other ones.		2009-07-28 22:34:00

in the manual, it describes the thin layer as wafer thin lol, but he means the thin layer. But since these objects are just shapes and not complex objects you can click on them and change the layering as much as you want yourself flameatnight 2009-09-03 03:30:00

Yeah...it is a way to be sure that only member of the LBPc forum will use this logo.
We already discuss this in a thread about people that was using LBPc stickers or logo without even knowing the forum, just to ensure more plays and heart.
