Media Molecule really clean up at Develop Awards Best New IP LittleBigPlanet (Media Molecule) Visual Arts LittleBigPlanet (Media Molecule) Technical Innovation LittleBigPlanet (Media Molecule) Best New Studio Media Molecule Best Independent Developer Media Molecule full list of winner here (http://www.develop-online.net/news/32409/Big-night-for-games-development) LittleTeam, BigAwardWinners. Small independent UK studio Media Molecule won home five - yes, five - Develop Awards last night. That's the most an individual company has ever won on a single night at the awards, which have been running for seven years and are the most respected awards for games developers. Over 500 top industry execs were on hand to see four of Media Molecule's founders collect the prizes. The team had LittleBigPlanet, which was released late last year, to thank for the accolades. The PS3-exclusive helped ensure they won: Best New IP, Visual Arts, Technical Innovation, Best New Studio and also Best Independent Developer. | 2009-07-16 07:46:00 Author: jump_button Posts: 1014 |

Wow congratulations MM. That's brilliant. Now if they could just improve the servers that would be the icing on the cake. | 2009-07-16 14:00:00 Author: mistervista Posts: 2210 |
They go to every single award ceremony and they absolutely clean house. They deserve every single award they've won for it. LittleBigPlanet is a true innovation. I wonder how many awards they've actually won in total by now. It must be near one hundred. | 2009-07-16 14:03:00 Author: BSprague Posts: 2325 |
Well when they were on that tv show with Dom Joly a few weeks ago I think Mark Healey said it was around 62 at that time. | 2009-07-16 14:04:00 Author: mistervista Posts: 2210 |
Well when they were on that tv show with Dom Joly a few weeks ago I think Mark Healey said it was around 62 at that time. That's an absolutely ridiculous number of awards. The next award they will probably get is for getting the most awards. But in all seriousness, 67-odd awards is no small feat, especially for a team of around 35. Grand Theft Auto IV had a team of around 1,000 people working on it, and I don't believe it has anywhere near that many awards. | 2009-07-16 14:08:00 Author: BSprague Posts: 2325 |
They really deserve it! I would give them every award if I could - even best MMO or best FPS lol. | 2009-07-16 14:15:00 Author: Leather-Monkey Posts: 2266 |
Media Molecule won the award for Best Studio of the Year. I was looking at the older posts and saw them winning it. I think it was posted on the PSBlog. | 2009-07-16 14:16:00 Author: Unknown User |
How many does that make? 70? Just give them Game of the Ages already! | 2009-07-16 16:19:00 Author: BasketSnake Posts: 2391 |
Wow, that's really impressive. I know they've also won some awards that don't really matter, like from gaming mags and such. Like back before LBP was released, I'm pretty sure it won tons of Best Game of E3 awards and the like. Once it did come out, I think it also got some Game of the Month awards, too. So add those to your list and you probably are getting close to 100... | 2009-07-16 16:36:00 Author: dandygandy2704 Posts: 1002 |

They deserve even more. The more you play this game, the more you understand how much it's amazing. You know, they should make a new price: BEST GAMING COMMUNITY - Winner... LBF'nP | 2009-07-17 09:24:00 Author: OmegaSlayer Posts: 5112 |
